  1. The most likely scenario is the rest of the season is a roller-coaster ride of winning just enough to have our fate hanging on the final game of the year. Then, of course, we will start off quickly, leading the Pats* for a few moments before letting it all fall apart, lose and push the Pats* into the playoffs instead. Remember, the football gods enjoy maximizing the torment of Bills when at all possible.
  2. I agree that our top concern should be winning, but the reality is that we need to also be concerned with keeping the team in Buffalo. Would you be OK with moving the team to Toronto or, say, San Antonio, if it meant winning a Super Bowl within two years of the move?
  3. What's that have to do with my post which you quoted? Yes, we are under the cap by a good deal, but it is fair to say we've been quite competitive the last couple of years in free agency, paying big bucks for the positions most of us here felt needed upgrading the most.
  4. I don't care if the NFL gives a team to a Canadian city, but if the Bills leave WNY, I won't be a fan anymore, either. I think putting too much hope in Jim Kelly is dangerous. He and his pals will have very steep competition for the team from people with way more experienced in such business dealings. My point is that those hoping for Ralph to "go" soon should be very careful about what they might actually get.
  5. The obvious problem with that is that once it is no longer in his hands, it may no longer be in Buffalo. Are we willing to endure a move to another city if it means a Super Bowl win?
  6. OK, I am not a stalwart supporter of Mr. Wilson, but he has passed on making a lot more money by allowing the team to leave WNY. That said, what about our team's current situation is the "fault" of our owner? Is he saying we could have better coaches and players right now if it weren't for Mr. Wilson? Is he saying Mr. Wilson is meddling with the team right now, throwing off the team and wasting all the early success? How is it Ralph's fault we lost Monday night?
  7. Uh, I confidently say the fans are one of the Bills' stronger points right now.
  8. Right, but Turk wasn't talking about YPC; he was talking about yards per attempt, how far the ball is actually thrown.
  9. Agreed. But Turk needs to get into Trent's face and tell him to grow a pair and throw the damn ball downfield. If getting into his face doesn't work, he needs to get into his head.
  10. What exactly did Ralph do now? Out of respect for Butler? You have to be kidding me. He brought his name up, made a clear accusation and then tries to take a step away from it with that BS? It is time for Mort to go.
  11. This is a huge problem, and one that has me wondering why. Turk made a big point of this in the pre-season, saying the best QBs have a high yards-per-attempt average and said he would make sure Trent had a high one, too. That is the opposite of what has been happening since the losing started.
  12. At this point, it is more worthwhile thinking about what we might be able to do with the draft picks we didn't trade away.
  13. Now I'm hungry.
  14. I think we can and will beat Denver. And 11-5 woud get us into the playoffs and maybe even the division, as that would mean we beat each of our division opponents the second time around. But, alas, I don't think this year's Bills have the mental fortitude to beat the Pats*.
  15. That's a good point. I'd say he failed miserably last night. Trent needed to be calmed down and have his confidence built back up.
  16. Two reasons: Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder
  17. "In the entire history of American sports hype, has there ever been any fraud more grossly fraudulent than Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis?" The Worst Football Coach in the Universe
  18. He is doing wonders in South Bend.
  19. Trent is durable enough. To be frank, he simply didn't have the balls to win the game last night. But it wasn't injury he feared.
  20. Ed Lavandera of CNN reports... Some people who brought children into this world are taking advantage of a poorly worded Nebraskan law and are dropping their offspring at hospitals! The "safe haven" law was intended to allow parents to hand over an infant anonymously to a hospital without being prosecuted. Of the 34 children who have been dropped off at hospitals, officials said not one has been an infant. All but six have been older than 10, according to a Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services analysis. There are even people flying in from other states to drop their children off.
  21. My bad. I missed the word "the" right before "ME." So I thought you were talking about Maine. I even thought before I replied, there is a cosmopolitan part of Maine?
  22. I am all for being a nice, diplomatic guy, but I would have told guy to wake up, smell the cleanliness and go to hell. He's not in the damn sandbox anymore, and he doesn't get to decided what's socially acceptable here.
  23. I am not talking about his "advisers," all of whom have massive personal interest in particular stocks, by the way. I am talking about the list of people he is reportedly considering to actually put in positions of power pertaining to the U.S. economy. And I am saying those he is supposedly considering are not catalysts of change; rather, they are just more guys deeply rooted in the establishment long running the show.
  24. I was wondering how long it would take before that was pointed out. Mike, your salute is appreciated. But Marines are Marines for life. You would be best received referring to those no longer wearing the uniform as Marine veterans.
  25. Semper fidelis! For my fellow Leathernecks, here is our Commandant's message.
