Offense actually improved in areas as the season went on. Redzone started bad but improved. Allen also was injured. But no excuses needed. You want to fire a 1st year OC after having the #2 scoring and yards offense in the NFL. Makes zero sense at all.

Dorsey has a top 2 offense every year. How many head coaches do you know have been fired with a top 5 defense and top 5 offense in the same season?

Well good news is Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Tre White, and Kaiir Elam didn’t play vs Vikings. But they played press man a lot. Isn’t that strange?

Sounds like a plan. I would prefer a veteran that can start added to Phillips, Jones, and Settle but a 4th round big boy to develop would work. DL has work to do, even though we’ve sunk a lot of assets into it. Need better.

Watch Vikings game back. All the press you can eat. DBs got toasted. Browns game, toasted. Plenty of film on our DBs getting toasted in press man. Even with pass rush.

For cap reasons you have to sign him or trade him. I’m in the trade him camp. Re-sign Phillips and also try to sign another starting DT.

It was a bad game across the board. I don’t know how anyone can pinpoint it. I can put blame on McDermott for not having them ready to play. It’s not something I’m used to seeing from McDermott teams.

Give him real competition. I like the idea of drafting someone that can start at RT or kick inside to OG. Hopefully Brown gets a full offseason of training. He’s a very athletic and strong player. There is upside still.

McDermott and Frazier will have to make do with the DBs. Maybe a cheaper than Poyer veteran safety added. Attempt to upgrade the DL. It’s time to move on from Morse for cap reasons. He can still play but it’s time. Either draft a rookie center or slide Bates to center and draft a rookie OG. Maybe even draft 2 interior OL in the 1st 3 rounds with the expectation they will play a lot as rookies. Draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd. I would also attempt to sign/trade for a veteran WR. So my goals this offseason are 2 interior OL added high in the draft. A WR added high in the draft. A significant defensive lineman added through trade or UFA. Not a huge name but someone that can start, similar to DaQuan Jones or better. And a veteran WR added that can start.

They did have safety help when Hill went house. That’s the thing.

You’re not thinking straight, pure emotion. List examples of coaches fired after 2 divisional round losses. McDermott hasn’t even missed the playoffs in Allen’s prime. They’ve won 3 straight division titles. List your coaching changes. The seat hasn’t even begun to warm up for McDermott. Losing divisional round playoff games isn’t going to get you fired. Maybe if loses 3 straight the seat starts to warm up. Maybe a DC change but again, the issue is beating KC. Now beating Cincinnati also. They definitely need defensive changes, but I still think it’s mostly a player problem:

Even with a pass rush and press coverage the DBs couldn’t defend. We have this conversation a lot and I always come back to the players . You know why 13 seconds happened? Because the play before the defensive call was to play press man and make KC beat them. Tyreek Hill goes house. So do they coach scared at times? Yes! it’s because the players tend to come up short when asked to make a play.

not a cop out. We’re not as talented in key spots as the Chiefs and Bengals. We’re missing 1-2 playmakers on offense and defense. Coaching definitely let them down at 13 seconds. People assumed we beat Cincinnati the following week though, I don’t know.

I don’t think they’re that talented. I think the Bills built a good college program and we have a bunch or juniors and seniors that play well together and know the system. I think they have a few talented players in the right spots, QB1 and WR1 that can carry an offense. So we’ll be contenders, especially with our QB1.

They came out more aggressive the 1st matchup with Cincy and got burned the 1st drive. Bills don’t match up well vs that Bengals offense. The biggest problem was the offense just couldn’t get going to help the defense. Everything was bad. They laid an egg. That’s my disappointment with the coaching staff. They weren’t ready to play. But it’s not a common occurrence.

You never know what will happen. Packers were a Super Bowl contender prior to last year. Giants could easily fall apart. Washington? Who knows.

They played all types of coverage vs Cincinnati. Nothing worked. We forget that the major topic starting around the Vikings game was our CBs and S’s stinking. I know that Vikings game they pressed like crazy and got destroyed. Even with a pass rush. What the Bills coaches don’t do is get out of nickel. But that’s by far our best personnel grouping. I mean you’re not taking Taron Johnson off the field for a LB vs Cincinnati. So I’m not sure.

The schedule is always brutal. We’re always a first Place schedule.

So you looked at the DL and decided they should get pressure with a 4 man pass rush? They had a green OC and QB coach but brought in experienced OL coach and experienced offensive assistant Mike Shula to help.

Grow how? People are making these comments like it’s a widespread problem. How do you beat KC and Cincinnati? Pass rush and score points! We’ve been saying it for years. There is one person we must look at. Brandon Beane. Now the question is does he get a pass because Von got hurt? I’m willing to say yes but criticism is still there because his DL draft picks aren’t able to win 1v1 battles. You blitz. Burrow and Mahomes are 2 of the best QBs vs the blitz. There is no adapting. You hope you can win 38-35 or something. Which we should’ve last year.
