  1. I have a two part question: can you tell me why some vehicles have the gas tank cap on the drivers side and why some are on the passenger side? why don't they make them all the same?
  2. i can see it now.....Justice Souter .... holed up in his house with guns defending his land.....Ruby Ridge II.
  3. my sister in law had a procedure like this done not long ago. what was interesting to me is that they went in through the front of her neck. she was in the hospital for a few days and had a long PT time....a lot of which i think had to do with her age, (51) and her typical lack of every day activity. because of the neck brace, i think she was not allowed to drive for a couple of weeks, but other than that it didn't deter her from her daily "chores". This happened about 9 months ago, and they had to go back in about 2 months ago to re-tighten a screw. which was a very simple procedure....but something i would consider a "complication".
  4. i really enjoyed his "down-homsieness" on the Civil War doc. on PBS. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,160928,00.html
  5. it will be an uphill battle to beat Elliot Spitzer who currently has a large lead in the polls. Golly really needs to spend some time in the down-state area of NY in order to have a chance....and at this point i have no idea if people in that area know him.
  6. Happy Birthday William.
  7. the one thing i learned last year by watching practices during training camp is that Jerry Gray and Tim Krumrie are so intense, i can't see them letting anyone on thier side of the ball become "complacent".
  8. Prep/Jock/Cheerleader 55% the remaining 45% i was all over the board.
  9. i grew up in the Cooperstown NY area and most of the time on Sunday the choice was the Jets or the Giants on local TV. (if you recall, there was no cable TV back in the early 70's ) so i was a Jets fan early, watching Joe Namath because my dad liked watching Joe. this was back when i was like 8 years old. Then one wintery Sunday afternoon, the Bills played the Jets and i remeber watching OJ Simpson run the football.....i have a distinct memory of the announcers making a big deal about the first running back to ever run for 2000 yards in a season. i was hooked and have been a Bills fan ever since.
  10. I have posted from Chuck Missler's site in the past with little response from anyone; but here again is another article from back in 1997 that tells how the US President at the time, began to help China. Feeding the Dragon Other articles from Missler on China Does China worry me? You bet your ass they do.
  11. i agree...i think the former might take a couple of generations before there is any actual affect.
  12. i would say he is a "nice" player. very much like Phil Hansen. Nothing more. Nothing less.
  13. i am going to go out on a limb and disagree with that.
  14. i agree with that to an extent. if i were an NFL player, and knew the history of the teams, i would never sign with the Cardinals.
  15. I don't know of any draft sites but our league typically meets for a long lunch on the Friday of the draft. Then 9 holes or 18 holes of golf depending on who is a man and who is a boy. With all sorts of bets flying throughout the afternoon. Try to get as many of your league mates as absolutely drunk as you possibly can while your are pounding 9 oz. bottles of water. Order pizza to be delivered at 6:00...for the guys that get there early.... Draft begins at 7:00. Get either a classic "guy" movie,....(The Godfather, Goodfellas), or a DVD or video of a couple of football games and let them play while the draft takes place. at the middle round of the draft....take a 30 minute cigar smoke break and while everyone is out smoking, check their draft cheat sheets and see who they expect to pick in the up coming rounds. Most imortantly, Have fun!
  16. if that is who you already drafted...i don't know what kind of help you are looking for. QB: Bulger/Leftwich. I have read that Leftwich is going to be chucking it downfield more now that he has one full year as a starter. We know Martz is going to have Bulger throwing. The problem will be they will both throw a couple of picks each game...and you will have a hard time choosing which one to start each week. When you start one that busts, the one on your bench could be piling up points....and vice versa. I had that problem with my RB's last year. RB: McGahee/Barber/Foster I don't like Foster and is he is your only depth, i would keep a close watch on the waiver wire. McGahee and Barber are far and away the #1 options for their teams and will both get a lot of touches. They are a very solid RB combo. WR: Coles/Bruce/Evans/Branch/Rogers No real studs, but Coles, Evans, and Branch could become just that. I think Bruce is on the decline....(that is just a gut feeling). And the only reason i don't care for Coles is i don't like taking a WR who is starting for a new team. Yeah...yeah...i know he used to be a Jet, but there is still a whole new Offence being put in. Coles is a good deep threat and Pennington's forte is not the deep ball. TE: Gonzalez/Franks Great combination. TG is who he is.....and the Packers are going to be in a bunch of games where there will be a ton of points being scored...he is likely to get his share. K: Nugent/Cundiff Nothing special. Rookie kickers typically don't blow anyone away. Cundiff will be afraid for his life again running from Parcells everytime he misses a kick. Def.Spt.: Falcons Great defense and SpT. Not many better choices other than the Bills, and I am guessing they were already off the board. I would consider finding a replacment for Foster and Rogers. And be sure to ride the Hot QB.
  17. after having that inability to draft Chad Johnson the last couple of years....just because. (don't you all have players that for whatever reason, you just can't pick and place on your roster?) this year however I love Chad Johnson. He is so much the real deal. However I still cannot see myself taking him if Moss, Owens, Holt or Harrison were still on the board. I guess it will depend on how things look in pre-season. as far as Andre Johnson goes...I like him a lot too. I have read a lot of people are down on him this year because of the inabilities of David Carr. Also a combination of the rise of Dominick Davis and the sometimes downside of their Offensive Line. Regardless,...I have Andre Johnson ranked #6.
  18. sorry i missed this opportunity. i really wanted to test my FF skill against the Legend of R.Rich. Seriously. i think last year i signed up and then backed out before the season stated because i knew i had too much going on to commit to the full season. i didn't want to get into the league and let my roster drop off because i didn't have time to keep up with it. maybe next year i can get in.
  19. luck has a lot to do with it. but a guy that walks into a draft with a magazine that was published in May, or an internet list from Pete Prisco or Len Pasquerelli, typically are not as "lucky" as the guy who has done his homework...(if you get my meaning). the guy that has done his homework knows what RB's come out on 3rd down plays. they know what LB's play on 3rd down, they know what teams struggle punching it into the endzone and have a kicker that can make FG's. here is an example....i was really high on Javon Walker going into last years draft because he finished the final 4 or 5 games in 2003 very strong. a lot of guys thought it was funny that i spent a 5th round pick on him. then somewhere along week 4, they were scratching their heads at why they took guys like Amani Toomer, or Eric Moulds, while Walker was scoring points every week. So yes...luck has a lot to do with finishing first....but homework has a lot to do with consistantly finishing in the top 3 year after year.
  20. From PFW "The Way We Hear It" section" "After losing starting CB Antoine Winfield during the 2004 free-agency period, and with Pro Bowl CB Nate Clements scheduled to become a free agent following the ’05 season, we hear it would be a shock if the Bills let a second starting corner go next year. Much as they did with DE Aaron Schobel last year, word is the Bills would like to work out a long-term extension with Clements during training camp or by early in the season. Clements, 25, has the size (6-0, 209) and playmaking ability (six interceptions in ’04, two TDs — one via interception and one on a punt return) that make him one of the top young corners in the league, so it’s clearly in the team’s best interest to lock him up before he hits the open market. It may come down to what Clements wants — to choose the security of a long-term deal from a team for which he has enjoyed success, or to roll the dice, risking injury, and potentially land a megadeal in free agency." The problem, as is always the case with these football periodicals is they never give a source. So...my guess is this is more likely just the opinion of the writer than it is info from a team source.
  21. Worst: William Henry Harrison/Jimmy Carter Best: George Washington/Teddy Roosevelt
  22. 23. what is really really really funny,.....is this line: TOM CRUISE: No, you see. Here's the problem. You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do. How much do you want to bet that the next person with any intelligence that interviews Cruise is going to bone up on the study of the history of psychiatry and make this moron look like a complete monkey.
  24. tell us more about the "full frontal".
