Off topic but: That was not a bad season at all!! He averaged 37 MPG, 20 PPG, just over 6 boards and almost 4 assists. I would love that kind of futility on my Celtics. Unforunately, that team crapped the bed around him that year.

Forgot about Crumpler. I would definately take him over Shockey. Shockey's image is helped that he plays in NY, with a Manning, and went to Miami. But much like Ray Lewis his production doesn't match his hype.

We won a few years back with Ben Sheets & Co, but other than that have had our taints handed to us in the sport for a while. How is this anti american? Bueller?? Anyone? The Japanese are WAY more into baseball than the US. Besides, the proposed baseball World Cup would makes this ridiculously unneccessary.

That evaluation of Shockey is laughable. Nice player, but his production has dropped of every year in the league. His red zone efficiency went up this year but I would still take Gonzalez, Heap, and maybe Gates over him.

While a small drop off wouldn't surprise me, I think there is a reason that Williams by far played his best football with Sam Adams on the other side. Plus I expect that our secondary, which was pretty damn good last season, should be far better with all the injury/draft depth we now have.

There are sports figures who refuse to sign for their own reasons. Bill Russell, for example. He wouldn't sign a photo for Satch Sanders, his own teammate, but he would take the time and talk to people if they came up to him on the street.

I think I am driving in to catch the 1st weekend....7/30-8/1. I figure I can catch 3 practices in 3 days, see my folks (who live 5 minutes away), and still have time to catch at least 2 plates at Nicks.

A 1st and 3rd?? If a top 5 RB like Alexander can only get a 3rd, and Doug Jolley only gets a low #1....I doubt that any team gives up a 1st and a 3rd for Seymour. Great player, but a 1st and 3rd in this day and age in the NFL is insane.
