Yeah idk about all that. Not saying you're wrong but yeah I'd like to double dip. Having 2 good young WRs is a problem I'd be willing to work with. Just me tho. I may be alone on this.

That's fine , but take him in the 5th or 6th when there's not pressure for the guy to produce as a rookie.  If drafted low can probably slip him to PS or have him slip on the annual banana peel and spend the season on IR, but still learns  alot.

You want another WR??  Total waste.  Rookies need more time to develop working with them and trying to develop 2 rookies drafted high at same position is just a waste.  They will both suffer as a result.   Works great in fantasy Football, but not in the NFL

We took Coleman, run along now…

Still waiting to hear how Beane was supposed to stop KC from taking Worthy or even know KC was going to take Worthy. So maybe you're the one who needs time to go and figure that out.

5th year options are usually meaningless. If the player is good enough to warrant it, teams usually will extend them before that. If they are not, they just decline it. The only time that it comes into play is when guys are on the line of being good enough, like Tua.

Edmunds was another one.  It's tough too as you need to pick up the 5th year option after the player has only completed his 3rd year.   Wouldn't be shocked if the Bills had wished like in the old days to rescind Edmunds option after seeing his play in year 4, but can't do that anymore.  So they let him play it out, maybe were hoping for a huge improvement, but it never came, so let him walk.

KC has a much better judge of who’s good and who’s not judging by their 3 Super Bowl rings.

And how would you have prevented KC from getting Worthy?

Other than drafting themselves, a guy they didn't want who likely the Bills don't think it going to be that good, just so KC doesn't get him.

As has been pointed out, KC's record with drafting WR wasn't that good.

So was Worthy the guy you were hoping they'd pick at 28, if so can at least understand why you're mad.  But this entire cut off my nose to spite my face argument is really dumb!

Actually I'm thrilled they didn't take a 165 pound WR and got extra picks out of it.

Here is a simple minded question. If kc was going to get worthy regardless, why would they move up and be willing to give away draft capital just to move 4 spots when no matter what , as you so strongly say, there was no way anyone else might want him and it was inevitable he was going to kc ?  Just to play mind games w mcd /beane again?   Appears they were concerned another team might want him, or maybe we had some other offers?  It’s a fair question, and just because someone has a diff opinion than your speculation, does not justify name calling like weak, simple minded, or just pathetic.  Something made them move up right?. Not just for giggles. /

Isn’t  it bad enough after each blown loss to the chefs, even a home playoff loss now as they got yet  another Lombardi , that the press and fans always remind people how mahomes got to kc ? He will always be tied to mcd/ white and so far ALLEN’s Bills have 0 meaningful playoff wins over mahomes/ KC!   ZERO.  And , we are regressing in terms of playoff advancement.

Now, PERHAPS. we can also be reminded we helped them get a guy faster than hill ( who already helped defeat us once in the playoffs as mcd  had no answers to control him under Reid in route to a prior SB) , while our own wr corp currently remains  the subject of ridicule as we absorb 31 mil in dead cap from another great beane deal ( like Von and the  dt from Carolina).   Typical more Billsy lore !   But why not avoid the superior air snide comments, passive aggressive language , which is very unbecoming.  It’s ok to have other viewpoints rather than only from those  that are blessed with flawless , SPECULATIVE ( forgive me if this is Brandon) knowledge.   Relax , no one on here is employed by the bills w exclusive insider knowledge or able to foresee the future.  The chiefs traded up for a reason , so they didn’t know worthy was theirs one way or another. Another chiefs player now linked to “ using the Bills”.   Wonder why some franchises still have ZERO  Lombardi trophies  after 55 years, and others jusr keep progressing and adapting.  Some have vision and don’t draft/ play “ not to lose”.  Just an opinion, not dogma!

So what should the Bills have done to prevent this, draft a guy they don't want and didn't think is going to be a great player??

Beane is an idiot!! He should have thought I don't want Worthy, but can't let KC take him so I'll draft him anyway, a guy I don't think will be very good, but who cares as long as KC isn't getting him is all that matters!  That's the kind of thinking we need out GM to have!!

Here’s where I’m at right now.

I would have been happy with Mitchell or McConkey at 28 without any trades. And we traded back and got, not extra picks, but made our later picks better in the process.

Now, if they go with that DB/S tomorrow at 33 I’m gonna be livid.

If they take Mitchell, McConkey, Franklin, I’ll be perfectly happy with it. As I would have been at 28.

Now; with that all said, you picked up the extra 3rd rounder, and now have some better ammo with the four 5th rounders. So i really really hope they are active tomorrow. Getting either an extra 2nd by moving back into the 2nd rd. Or moving up from 60 to the 40s or something. And then hopefully moving up in the 3rd again too.

I will wait and see what he does.

    BUT……
I am absolutely with most agreeing that you shouldn’t give KC the chance to take a guy that can smoke you for years to come. If worthy or Legette are the real deal in this league we look like fools again. No matter who we take.

If they Bills had wanted Worthy, they could have drafted him, but they didn't, so think it's a safe assumption to say they didn't want him.   So what should the Bills have done drafted Worthy anyway even if they don't think he's any good just to prevent KC from getting him?  And what would have stopped KC from still getting him by either waiting until 32 or trading up with another team?

So explain to me how they could have prevented KC from getting him?  Love to hear this one!

There is no reasonable. You simply don’t let your arch rival trade up and get the player they want. It’s an inexcusable move imo.

I could care less about value or the possibility of them trading up with another team, you simply never make a move like this for fear it can come back to bite you as it did with Mahomes.

Stop trying to justify any of it, there really is no debating how stupid this was.

So they should have drafted a guy they didn't want who likely the Bills don't think it going to be that good, just so KC doesn't get him.

Great idea!!  Love the way you think!!

  8. This speed thing IMO is way overblown   I just calculated the difference between Worthy's time as the fast player in the NFL and Curtis Samuel time and it works out that the 40 yard distance would mean Worthy is not quite 1 yard down the field further than Samuel would be.  How many passes did Allen throw Diggs that were either way over thrown OR  way under thrown.  Also how many 40 yard completions are actually even made, my guess is less than 10%, and probably much less.  Now you take something that has less than a 10% success rate to start with and add to that was the pass has to be exactly there as the over or under thrown passes won't matter either.

Add also as has been stated combine 40 times and football times are totally different.  I'd also worry that with a guy who ways 165 pounds, how often will he be able to stay on the field.  I'm sure he'll bulk up some, but likely also slow down some as a result.  I doubt Worthy will run a 40 time as fast if his ribs or something else is hurting from hits he's taking.

Put all this together makes me question will defenses really worry all that much about him being a yard down the field further as they know the likelihood of success on that type of play is very low to begin with, so worry about the important things.

Yes, email. I was never on auto renew . I guess that was based on when I purchased last year.  I would go your youtube TV app and check renewal price

So I got an email offering $100 off, is that what the price works out to with $100 off, $289??

This looks as though you don't have auto renewal.

If they were gonna charge you it would show that you already have ST with a $0 balance from the previous season and the upcoming renewal date instead of ADD

Did you pay the full price last year or in installments?

I think if you pay in installments the caveat is that you auto renew unless canceled

I was thinking the same which is good. Paid in full last year at discounted rate they offered for 1st time sign up. But figuring this year won't offer any discounts to start with.

Last year with their schedule,  only really needed it about 5 or 6 6 weeks as most game were seen all over. I'm out of local market.

    1. Click on the icon in the top RH corner with the letter of your first name.

    2. Go to Settings > Membership

You should see Base Plan, then NFL Sunday Ticket right under it. Next billing is Aug. 15, 2024. Click on Manage to cancel.

OK I don't have a choice of manage.  I see the date is August though, that;'s not too bad, I was expecting it to be much sooner.

Kind of crazy how some of us old coots ( poster name play intended 😀) on this board remember a player & name vividly like this guy from 45+ years ago like it was only a few years ago.

    Angel Gabriel now 😔

    To your point:

Recall the 1967 season, the Baltimore Colts led by Johnny U hadn't lost a game all season, though they had tied the Rams earlier who were in their same division.  Recall they were by far the best team in the league that year.  Last game of the season they played LA again in LA led by Gabriel and the Rams beat them.  There were no wild cards back then so the way the tie breakers fell Rams won the division somehow, Colts didn't even make playoffs.  Green Bay knocked off Rams in first round and then went on to win SB II.

As a side note believe he was from Wilmington NC area where I currently live.

It used to auto renew with Directv.

Yeah but with DTV even once it auto renewed, you  could still cancel ST anytime up to the first week of the season.  That was when you'd do the dance routine to get them to offer abetter rate.  Thought I recall with YTTV once the payment is made, you're locked in and can't even cancel.

Yup me too. Purchased at a discount price through Verizon. Was just a one off. I think only if you have YouTube TV it auto renews.

I do have YTTV.  Not sure what you define as a one off purchase, I just made one payment, but in the fine print you agreed to auto-renew, think that was why they gave the discount.  Could be different with the stand alone, but kind of surprising they'd anyone off that easy when would be very easy to keep up the subscription.

This lacks a lot of context.  Not every draft is equal, some drafts are top heavy and weak outside the top guys like 2021 for example.  Then others were considered weak for top tier prospects, but very deep for 2nd tier prospects outside round 1 like 2019.

The hit rates and miss rates very much follow the patterns of the draft strength/weakness at the position.  So this doesn't IMHO dictate a model to follow and really shows you need to understand the strength and weakness of the position in each given draft to know what you need to do if you want to address WR.

In a year like 2022 or 2021 where the draft going in was seen as a top heavy WR draft and weak after that, you better making a move to go get a guy.  But in a year like 2019, where there wasn't a lot of highly graded guys but a lot of strength in the depth, you are better letting it come to you or even trading back instead of reaching for a N'Keal Harry.

This is a very deep draft, there are going to be a lot of guys who become good players outside the first round this draft.

The other thing to compare is how does this compare with other positions? Is the hit/miss rate on edge rushers or CB's around the same.  If I were to bet on it, I'd say they are.

Just reading an article today quoting Beane as saying there are only around 25 players the Bills have first round grades on.  But 32 teams will be drafting in the 1st round, so if Beane grades reflect how other teams also see it, there will be some misses there.

Makes zero sense to me.  Can't believe the Pegula's have money issues.

Reading the article about Kevin Adams season ending presser, he implied Terry is very per-occupied with Kim. Maybe he sees the 25% owner as becoming more of a face of the franchise and he can take a back seat.  Kind of like the last couple of years with RW.  He was no longer attending league meeting, was sending Russ.  Could be Terry feels better to send someone to represent the team who actually has a large amount of skin in the game, but no so much skin to over rule him.

Article also talked about how this is becoming more popular as becoming more difficult for the heirs to keep the team in the family due to large tax issues.  Initially Terry may have figured good chance Kim will out live him and she'll run things. That looks less likely now, maybe kids either don't want it, can't afford it, or none he feels are totally capable of running it??

I dont think Sunday ticket is something that can just renew.  You pay x amount for the full season. It's not like a monthly subscription.

Yes but when you subscribed last year, part of the agreement in the fine print is that you agreed to turn on auto renewal. It'd really the same too, instead of a monthly subscription, you pay for a yearly subscription.  I have subscriptions for ESPN+, BN and Athletic, they auto renew every year so same with ST,  Now I want to turn it off.

That's there way of making lots of money, with people who forget to turn it off.  Think I recall to there were no refunds also on it once you subscribed??

  18. I want to go into my YTTV account to turn off auto renewal so to prevent being charged full price automatically, found instructions on how to do, but when I go down to step 4 NFL ST membership is not listed.  I'm wondering is that due to not being in season right now and now even offered yet, or some other reason.  Can others get to step 4?  Right now I'm traveling so out of home market, wondering if that could have something to do with why I can't see the membership or other reason??
