He's been in the league since 2005!!!! lol Journeymen QBs don't just magically become elite players YEARS after they're drafted....give me a break!
-
You're just NOW realizing this? The fact that you had any expectations of that at all says a lot.
-
That's the main reason why I would be against drafting a new starter at QB. If we could find a veteran who can move this team without being a liability, we have a nice 3-5 year window here. Our young guys from a couple drafts ago are starting to become starters and playmakers, and we've drafted some REALLY nice players recently. CJ is busting out and the defense should be coming into their own soon. If we can find a QB and legit #2 WR, we have a chance to make some noise. But drafting a green QB who isn't ready to start from day 1 coudl be a mis-match given where everyone else is in their development.

Great post, Bill. I'll tell you what I've noticed most about CJ these last two games. If I could pick ONE area where he really has matured, as you said, I would single out patience. He is a FAR more patient back than he was previously. He's clearly allowing his blocks to develop and is allowing his supporting cast to remain involved in the play. I have been very impressed with him these last two weeks. Also, I love Gilmore's attitude. Obviously a rookie in only his second start is going to exhibit some growing pains. But this kid is aggressive and he seems to really want to become a top CB. We need some of that energy on this team...a little swag on that side of the ball is a good thing. I can't wait to see how he's playing by around week 9.

CORDY GLENN thread / The Snow Plow!
ajzepp replied to Bash_Gash's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I said in the shout box during the game, this guy is clearly NOT a guard....I was so thoroughly impressed with his play today! He was physically dominant and he was literally blocking ALLLLL the way down field on several of those long runs. This may be the best draft pick since CJ Spiller -

Not sure of the exact address, but I know the space is already acquired and things are moving along....next time I speak with him I'll get the specific address. And no, James, this is not a drug run -

Definitely. LOL Okay, here are a few more details....a guy I know is opening up a business on 5th ave in NYC on or around Christmas of this year. I basically need someone to head over there for me and possibly pick up an item and ship it my way. I will cover expenses and throw in a "tip" for your time. -
Looking ahead to the 2013 Draft...I know...I know...
ajzepp replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, that 15 for 26, 258yd, 3TD 0INT performance was just plain awful. I'm not really keen on bringing in a rookie QB, but if we do, I want Aaron Murray. Geno Smith would be just as nice, but I think he'll be gone by the time we pick. He threw ten more TDs last year than Stafford ever threw in a season and he's off to a great start this season. He's got a football brain and nothing rattles him. He can make every throw, he's a hard worker, and by all accounts a solid character guy. I really think he'll be a solid NFL pro and would love to see us draft the kid. -

Just one honest, reliable person. I just figured the response would be a tad more lol. -

COME ON PEOPLE!! Only TWO people on the board live in NYC and might be willing to let me compensate them for their time in doing me a small favor? -
Jim Kelly's magical mystical ownership group
ajzepp replied to Shoutbox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For those of you who aren't fans of Philly sports, the sixers were actually a good example of how a guy like Jim Kelly could be a very significant player in a bid to buy the team. One of my favorite people on earth is Mr Pat Croce. Pat was a physical therapist for the Sixers to start. He ended up becoming pretty successful in the physical therapy world and a millionaire, but more on the level of a top pro athlete from the 90s than say, Bill Gates. In other words, just like Kelly, his role in the group wasn't to provide the financial backing. The owner of the team, of course, was Comcast. But Croce was named President and he was the functioning face of the franchise and the decision maker. He was great in that role and those of us who lived in Philly when this guy was in charge were pretty damn happy with the results he brought. I'm not saying this is exactly the way a Kelly-led group would do it, but just pointing out that this was one example - a successful example - of what it may look like. -
Hey all....I'll delete this thread in a few days, I was just hoping to hear from some fellow TBD'ers who are in or near NYC (i.e. can travel there easily if need be). No offense to the newbs, but I'm looking for TBD'ers that I'm likely familiar with from posting here over the years. I need a contact that I can have some level of trust in, so that's why I'm specifically asking for those who have logged some hours on the board here. If you fit this description, please PM me. I need to "hire" someone to go on a mission for me in a few months. Details to follow. Also, if you're someone I know well and have someone YOU trust who lives in or around NYC, that might work too. Thanks! *this message will self destruct in 4....3....2...*

I was hanging out a a friend's house...no way Id go back to Dish

All I know is that I'd rather pay to see the doggies than a singer....I was really starting to get annoyed with this show for a while. I was just happy to see two variety acts make the finals. You're probably right, though....not sure they can sustain an entire 90 min show.
-
Just saw it....hell of an episode. I wish I hadn't spoiled it for myself, but was still really good. Glad we got to finally see some jury house shenanigans. Ashley actually looked really good! If I hear anymore !@#$in' quacking, I'm gonna puke. Dumbest name for an alliance ever.

I'm just glad a farkin singer didn't win...I think it's lame that this show even allows singers. It's should stay strictly variety....there are enough damn singing shows. I would pay to see Tom Cotter for sure...I think he'll have a vegas show even w/out winning tonight. Those dogs were pretty amazing.

There's only one man who can right this ship, brother....although I fear it may be too late. Good point. I'm going to change my prediction to 56-2. They score seven TDs and convert for 2 each time.
-
Yeah, unforutnately I went to Jokers not knowing tonight was a show and ended up seeing what happened. I think my online tv site will have it in another hour or so....hopefully one of the streams will work. Frickin Dish....

DAMMIT, stupid Dish Network DVR thought tonight was a repeat and didn't record it....that's why I got rid of that crap service.

Jerry "The King" Lawler collapses at WWE event
ajzepp replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Looks like he's in the clear! http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish/WWE/article10027332.shtml Can't believe they had to defib the guy multiple times...that's pretty remarkable if he makes a full recovery. A lot of times the coding process can do more damage than the damn heart attack. -
Another good show....that 13 y.o. was possessed!

I thought Demi was truly authentic with that girl...I sort of got to the point where I was like, "okay, already...enough with the crying", but I felt it was pretty sincere. I couldn't really assess her talent because of all the emotion, but I'm glad they put her through.

Christina is a hottie...always had a thing for her. Every time I see Britney I picture her bald lol. I guess that image is seared into my brain forever! Fig: What did you think of the single mother/nursing student that what's his name compared to Rhianna? I thought she had a good, not great voice, great stage presence, and cute as hell. Her little girl was awesome.

Chiefs 48 Bills 2 Mario redeems himself with 2 sacks and a safety. I'm sick of the Bills failing to even meet my expectations, let alone exceed them...so I'm keeping them low this week.
