I often forget that douches and douchebags are actual things

that's exactly how I feel. Internet message boards attract trolls. That's how it's always been, and that's how it will probably always be. But for every troll who flames a JW or a TG, there are a whole lot of others who appreciate their participation and insight. Citing the one bad apple as the reason for "leaving" an internet message board is certainly their right, but it's kind of silly (IMO) to place such huge emphasis on the troll and ignore all the others who communicate respectfully and enjoy their presence here. But this whole "important person" gets flamed ==> "important person" gets upset ===> "important person" makes announcement they're leaving ===> 20 page post mortem thread (saying the same exact things that were said in the last three or four) is just getting old. I know the Bills suck terribly, but for gosh sakes are there really no shiny objects to spend our time fixated on or other more interesting happenings to discuss than this??

Lindsay Lohan caught sneaking out of rehab to get coke
ajzepp replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You can't have pop in a rehab clinic? WTF? -
Just like living in SEC land has allowed me to see enough of Mallett to be scared, I'd love to see us draft Newton...this kid is a player, and I think he's got the right combination of leadership and talent to be successful at the next level. I saw Luck play in the Oregon game and I liked what I saw, except when he threw downfield. Does this kid really have an NFL caliber arm??

Get Naked in front of Obama for a Million Bucks?
ajzepp replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
IN case you guys haven't seen the news, the challenge has been completed. -
Good point...conrad really shouldn't have even been playing other than as a pinch hitter. Bobby should have gone with the scrub guy who has experience as an infielder. Oh well...I don't think there's any way the Braves make it past the Phillies anyway.

Father/Son team launch capsule 19 miles into space!
ajzepp replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen...what a great thing for a dad to involve his son in! -
Wow, this is some article written by a former agent
ajzepp replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about you guys, but the takeaway from that article for me was that I now want very badly to go hang out with Greg Townsend! -
Favre has never missed a start in his entire career. He's in a class by himself in several record categories, and his teammates are the ones who urged him to come back. He's not going to be benched. He's not going to quit. He's going to start every game the rest of the season, come hell or high water, and then ride off into the sunset at the end of the year.

Such a shame...Bobby Cox and the pitching do a fantastic job only to be completely let down by FUNDAMENTAL errors. Even tonight when friggin Gonzales didn't keep running when Renteria dropped that liner...but wow, Conrad...what to say about this idiot. Nice enough guy, I'm sure, but THREE ERRORS IN ONE DAMN GAME???? Oh well...thanks for the memories, Bobby...you will be missed!!

Dear Mods...I've been contributing to this site for over seven years. I've earned this ONE little favor...PLEASE, for the LOVE OF GOD, delete any posts by KD pertaining to the Braves from now until after the game. We simply cannot take the chance of him using his jinx powers to screw us again!

Perry Fewell please come back!!!!!
ajzepp replied to The Natural's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm on record as wanting Fewell, too....big mistake letting him go. The guy had this team playing solid D, way above their talent level. -
Apparently white + brown + red + smooshy green + boogers + eye fluid + chicken asses = pink?

Your wife forces you to eat grass??

I'm ecstatic! I can't believe they came back from 0-4...the pitching on this team is unreal! I'm a little bummed that Wagner is hurt, but his playoff record is really bad (no idea why)...we head back to the ATL with the chance to WIN this series. LET'S GO BRAVOS!!!!!!
-
YEAH BABY@@@@@@@@@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 BRAVES TIE IT UP OFF OF FUGGIN ANKIEL, AND FARNY DIDN'T FUGGIT UP!!!! WHAT A GAME!!!
-
ANKIEL GOES DEEP!!! HOLY CRAP, THIS COULD BE AN EPIC COMEBACK!!! 3 MORE OUTS BABY...

That really puts the Braves in a bind...the pitching was amazing tonight...and FINALLY Bobby pulled the starter in time instead of waiting until all hell had broken lose. Venters came in and saved the day, with the Giants forced to strand Posey or whoever they had on 3rd with one out. I'm proud of the Braves effort tonight...they just didn't have any solutions for that dorky bastard with the mullet.

That's partly why I have been attracted to this show (for the most part). Kenny Powers would NEVER admit to being an anti-hero or someone who is just dealing with every day events. In his mind, he's a fuggin LEGEND, and it doesn't matter if he's pitching in MLB, pitching for a small obscure team in mexico, or coaching gym class...it's ALL about Kenny Powers' awesomeness lol. One of the things that cracks me up the most is when you get to hear some of what he's laying down on tape for his "manuscript" lmao...good stuff! PS. Vote for Pedro

Of course not. I'd never do that. lol, I know, it's like a reality you just don't want to face...it always reminds me why I tend to hang out more onthe "off the wall" board !!!! fuggin thing's got a TAIL, man!

Absolutely, but for a lot of us I think it's more than just fun. My theory is that when you latch onto a team from childhood, the bond is much stronger than it is when you begin following a team later in life. I didn't fully realize just how much a part of my life the Bills were until I saw the look in my ex-wife's face as I sat there and teared up like a little baby when Jimbo was giving his Hall of Fame speech several years ago. It's been a very intense relationship for over 25 years now, and it's just reached a point where it's totally drained me - and obviously I"m not alone in that sentiment. The NFL is fun for me, for sure....with the Bills it goes beyond that, though...it's deep rooted passion and love. Part of the reason why I have little respect for "Falcons fans" here in GA is because when the team sucks, you don't see anyone representing a damn thing. I can't relate to that at all. I'm just as proud to represent now at 0-4 (and ten years of losing) as I was at any other time. I know that I have a lot of Bills brothers (and sisters) who get that...and who are just like me. I just think when things are intense like that, it can really hit a point where you need to distance yourself just a bit....that's where I'm at now.

I tell you what, I went a while where I was told I couldn't get Sunday NFL Ticket because of the trees. I have tolerated cable - cable WITHOUT the NFL Network, that is - for as long as I can remember. I recently moved into an apartment that I love, and I specifically chose it because it's facing the right direction in order to get DirecTv. Well, for whatever reason, it was going to take them about a week and a half to install it....whereas Dish would be the next day and for cheaper. Now up until recently, there would have been absolutely no decision to make. The call to Dish would never have even been made. But you know what? I ended up with Dish. I was content just looking for online feeds, but my main focus was the Red Zone channel. I figured that was my priority, not the Sunday Ticket. I had to ask myself if I was crazy...voluntarily passing on the ability to see the Bills every week. But I just realized I was becoming apathetic. I love Sundays, because I can enjoy football in spite of the Bills. I will watch an online feed of the game on the comp, but I'm really paying attention to the Red Zone, cause there is a lot of good football going on. Nothing will EVER change in terms of the fact that I'm a Bills fan. It's simply (a big part) of who I am and it's an indelible mark on my SOUL lol. But watching them for 3 hrs a week just isn't a priority anymore...it's really affecting my love of football and my love for Sunday afternoons. I know I'll never pass on them completely, but for the time being I just need a little "space" lol Take my word, man....this series will be decided ENTIRELY by what happens in game one. If Derek Lowe finds a way to continue his dominance in that park, and we're able to take that game, we're going to win the series. If Lowe craps the bed and game one goes to SF, it's over. I hear ya man...and that passion is still there, it's just really buried beneath a lot of disappointment, frustration, and other crap. I look forward to Sundays in the Fall/Winter more than any other day of the week...nothing will ever change that. It's just a helluva lot sweeter when we field a team that can actually compete.
