Hey guys...(and gal): Just a reminder that the next tourney, the TBD Superbowl Hangover Tourney, is scheduled for Monday night at 8:30pm. Hope you can make it! I think Lana is playing, so that will all but assure you that you won't finish last! (j/k lana )

I just watched a cool hitman/revenge flick called "Vengeance" on Netflix streaming. If you guys like badass foreign flicks with bad acting, check it out Sorry to hear about Sanctum...the preview sure looked good! Guess I'll go see 127 Days this weekend instead of that one.

Well, you know that I am always happy to see you posting in one of my threads, but you better watch out for Lana. When she gets mad, steam doesn't just come out of her ears, if you know what I mean

Yep, that's a big reason why I have become more a fan of college football than I ever was when I lived back north. As critical as I am of some of the "fans" of the Atlanta pro teams, the college teams in and around this area have some of the most passionate and loyal fan bases in all of sports. Speaking of UT, I was bummed when Lane Kiffin took the USC job. I thought it was great to have a trash talking coach stirring things up down here...calling out the Gators, etc. But yeah, it's nearly impossible to live in the southeast part of the country and not become interested in the happenings among these SEC teams.

I live about 30 min from the University of Georgia. Although I'm not a fan of the school or the team, per se, I do enjoy following all the major players in the SEC. Well, I've been following this idea of Mark Richt's (head coach) to assemble a "Dream Team" of sorts of some of the top prospects coming out of high school. Now I don't know a THING about high school players, but as some of you guys know, the south is a hot bed for some of the best football talent in the country. Anyway, as it turns out, Coach Richt's plan has paid off. This week they got their crown jewel in HB Isiah Crowell. They've also recently obtained commitments from a handful of other players who are among the best at their respective positions, and GA has been viewed as having one of the top draft classes this year. There is talk that one DE who had supposedly signed elsewhere was now reconsidering his decision and may end up signing with the Dawgs tomorrow (saturday). Anyway, I thought this whole recruitment effort was a lot of fun to follow, and I'm happy for Coach and the UGA fan base. Coach Richt is a really great guy and while he's not necessarily been on the hot seat, he's certainly been on the warm seat. UGA does have one of my favorite QBs in the country - Aaron Murray - so this should be a very interesting team to watch as early as this September. UGA opens up with a nationally televised game against Boise St and then they play the SEC East champs, South Carolina. Any of you guys have some takes on other college teams that might be making some key moves as of late?

Weekend at Al's? -
Nope, I had to use an electronic check. They have a few ways to fund the acct, but unfortunately CCs aren't one of them....yet. Eastern

There was a scout interviewed a while back (wish I could remember where I read this...sorry) who said that the Auburn offense requires Newton to perform only TWO reads prior to each snap. It's a very simplified offense that relies heavily on his athletic talent, not his ability to read defenses and/or make adjustments. I think the transition to the pro game will be very, very difficult for this kid.

Their cust svc is very responsive...I've contacted them twice and they get back to you very quickly. support@pokerstars.com EDIT: For deposit help, you guys can also email dad@pokerstars.com, with ‘Phone Request’ in the subject line, tell them what time to call you back, and they'll contact you by phone to help.

Poor little dude!! Sounds like a tough little guy, though...kid breaks his arm, rubs some dirt on it, wraps it with an ACE bandage, and is back to playin' hard again

Apparently Idol is keeping some of their best prospects off tv until the hollywood round...this guy is another one of their more promising contestants. His voice reminds me of someone but I just can't place it. Hopefully one one two of these "prospects" pans out and makes the show more interesting. I liked Crystal from last season, but that was about it. Colton Dixon

I hadn't thought about that...good point. Trent definitely was a totally different QB after he got acquainted with Adrian Wilson
-
That's exactly how I feel. Great defenses are built from the lines outward. I don't know why the Bills don't understand this. EVERYONE on D is better when you have a solid Dline.

What you may have done is download the software from pokerstars.NET. If you download it again from pokerstars.COM then you will be able to see the instructions for funding the acct. At least, that's the problem I had initially....the .net one is for free play only. Last night was fun...hope to see you on Monday!

Hey all...I think I'm going to schedule our first real money tourney for Monday 2/7 at 20:30, the day after the Super Bowl. Since we had a good turn out tonight, I was thinking maybe alternating between sun and mon each week might be a good way to go? I'm going to set the buy-in at $2, so hopefully that's not prohibitive for anyone.
-
Was glad that you played tonight, man! Had a lot of fun...looking forward to the next game!

I don't think that I want the guy here either (unless we get him uber cheap, which won't happen), but you guys who already have the guy figured out are a bit hasty, IMO. The guy doesn't have enough experience yet to know if he's going to be a solid QB or a flop.

Bingo, Bongo

That's about my limit too, unless I get a big tax refund lol. Seriously, there probably will only be a few folks who want to go high limit, but as long as we have four we can definitely put a game like that together. But yeah, I think if we can get a multi-table tourney going with between 10-15 people for a $5-$10 buy in, that would rock. I figured we could run tourneys at a few different level of buy-ins depending on how regularly folks wanted to play. The site is very flexible with funding options, so hopefully a handful of us will have our accounts funded to some degree soon, and tourney #2 can be for a small buy-in. I'm excited we have 12 already, though...I think the most we had last time we did this was about 7, and that was a lot of fun, so this is even better
