  1. I thought he said, "I thought for sure she was 18"
  2. I'm starting to get on the Kuechly bandwagon. Like many of you, I've been sick and tired of watching other teams' tight ends just kill us. Kuechly is 6'4 with some solid speed. I say draft the kid, stick him at LOLB and let him do his thing.
  3. I've always thought of my taste in music as pretty eclectic, but I'm finding out lately that it's not as eclectic as I thought it was. I had never even heard the term "dubstep" until about four months ago, even though I was listening to a few artists that fall on the fringes of that type of music (e.g. DeadMau5). I've just recently ordered some music by Nero, which is a more typical example of dubstep from what I've been told, and I really enjoy it. Well tonight I was having a conversation with a fellow headphone enthusiast on head-fi.org. He was telling me that his favorite genres were thrash, classic rock, and doom metal (particularly "epic" doom). I didn't listen to a lot of metal growing up because it was just too hard to avoid all the satanic/demonic stuff. I have friends who are into it, but it's just not my thing. When I started looking more into doom metal tonight, several of its aspects appeal to me. I like music that is very intense, but with a slower and more deliberate tempo. I like that it's predominantly guitars, drums, and strong vocals...and I also like the idea that it focuses on dark, painful emotions and human experiences. I think you can do all that without having to involve the demonic/religious stuff in there. I started looking at some lists of the top Doom bands so that I can get a feel for where to start. I came across a couple that stood out to me - Saint Vitus and My Dying Bride. I reviewed some of the lyrics and listened to some of the tracks on youtube. I wouldn't want to listen to it all the time, but since the basic idea of the music is something I find interesting, I'm thinking about ordering a few albums and spending some time with it. I know there are metal heads amongst us, so I was hoping some of my fellow TBD'ers could chime in with some experiences and recommendations.
  4. Yep. Gone. I'm sorry, you punch a cop, you can go play for the Bengals. There is simply never any excuse for a grown ass man to do such a stupid thing. No way I'd draft this kid.
  5. CJ deserves a more prominent role this season. I'm really glad we drafted this kid and I'm looking forward to seeing him bust some runs in 2012. Best RB combo in the league with FredEx.
  6. I never knew just how much of a fan I was of Jimbo's until I literally cried during his HoF speech. I'll never forget the look on my ex-wife's face when she saw me tearing up like a little kid...I couldn't help it, though. It honestly felt like I was sitting there along with every other Bills fan in the country and around the world, watching him and reminiscing about the time we had together (no homo). The only other time I've even come close to feeling that way about a celebrity or sports figure Dale Murphy. Watching him get traded to the Phillies and hearing him emotionally talk about his time with the Braves really hit home with me. But yeah, the days when Jimbo was our leader were the good ol' days...we all went on one hell of a ride. And to every single one of you a-holes who booed this man in 1996 in favor of Todd Collins, you can all suck it. Each and every one of you - and you know who you are - should write a personal letter of apology to our fearless leader. Shame on all of you.
  7. I'll go into more detail on next week's show
  8. Exactly...the men presented a deal to the women that would have been mutually beneficial, and that was EXACTLY when the women started up with their crap. Because they were so hell bent on convincing themselves that they didn't need the guys anymore, they couldn't even see the value in the deal. I think you're right that fire was involved, and then the fishing part was where the guys offered to split half the fish with the women in exchnage for use of their boat or fishing gear or whatever. The girls didn't have to do ANYTHING and they would have gained a protein source. It was a perfectly logical deal, but the women couldn't see beyond their foolish issues. And you're right about crushing them. Instead of doing exactly that and creating an advantage that the women could never hope to overcome, what did the men do? They went and GAVE UP IMMUNITY IN ORDER TO VOTE ONE OF THEIR MEMBERS OUT! What in the ever lovin' hell?? I truly believe they need to make the finale 4 hrs this year, cause at the end where Jeff goes around and gets everyone to account for their actions and decisions, these morons have a LOT of 'splanin to do. Honestly, the more you think about this season, the more you realize that this not only the dumbest group of Survivors ever, but possibly the dumbest of group of people to ever be on a reality program.
  9. Why would pigs be anti-pig? lol, I know, I gotta be more careful
  10. That's cool...I spent years with some apologetics authors...mainly Karl Keating. I enjoy a good healthy debate about faith and religion. Most people can't discuss it without taking things personally though, so I usually just avoid the topic altogether.
  11. One of the best locker room guys we've ever had...and a solid player. As long as he's not wearing Patriots, Jets, or Fins colors, I wish him all the best.
  12. I knew I liked you for some reason
  13. And then teach him to repeatedly scream, "it's MY team" every time we lose (which will be often) and throw his feces at the reporters like a monkey. I never like disagreeing with my brother Bill, but I was on the anti-Mallett crusade when he was coming out of Arkansas and I'm still sitting high and proud on the mofugger now. No, no, no, no, no, no, no....HELL no.
  14. If any of you sumbitches wants to be my friend on FB, look me up under AJ Zeppenfeld. I only go on there once every six months, so you don't have to worry about me bothering you all the time
  15. A lady friend of mine said the same thing. I sent it to her via text and she said when she saw it she almost drove off the road
  16. Ah, right, As Good as it Gets...thanks for the correction. And I agree...the producers have scrwed around too much this season. I will always watch the show because I love it, but this whole season is just a mess. I don't think there's any way in hell he's going to win...but don't you think the REAL dumbasses are sitting in the jury right now? I remember Troy catching on to the women's plans and brining them up to dumbass Jay, and then Jay assured him that everything was cool after his conversation with Kim or whoever. Im not saying that Troy is a great player, but I don't think he's had anything to work with as far as solid alliance partners either. Especially that Tarzan idiot...still no idea WTF is his major malfunction.
  17. I love having the first round in prime time. Don't care as much when the rest of it goes down.
  18. I know, right? It's ridiculous...
  19. Clearly an example of the less fortunate getting the shaft... Photo Evidence
  20. I hated to admit it, but I'm with both you and Troyzan on the women thing. Our gender certainly has its stereotypical issues, but this is clearly one of the problems with the gals. I've been through it myself with an ex-wife and I've seen it happen to many of my friends. It's just like I said earlier in the thread, the women were completely BEGGING the men for shelter and fire in the early part of the season when the weather was bad. The men give in to the point where the women get what they want, and then down the road when the weather is all blue skies and the women get a few breaks, all of a sudden revisionist history kicks in and they never needed the men all along...wtf lol. It reminds me of one of the greatest movie lines ever from Jack Nicholson's role in "Something's Gotta Give". When his character, an author, is asked how he's able to so successful portray women in his novels, he replies, "First I think of a man...and then I take away reason and accountability." As much as I hate to play the gender card here, I think this is a character flaw that is running rampant among the fairer gender and it's far more destructive than anyone wants to admit. I happen to know and work with many smart women who would never stoop to this level of absurdity, and they have a great deal of integrity. But more and more you hear accounts and examples of this sort of frog and scorpion behavior going on and it's just sad.
  21. I'm still really banging my head over the Phillip thing...to me, this guy does the same thing every night and his vocals sound the same to me every night. I guess he's sort of like this year's Scotty to me...I don't get the appeal even a little. I have some CDs from various Idols over the years, but the last time I bought one was when David Cook won and released his. Since then, I have purchased no CDs, but I have downloaded a couple of songs from iTunes each season since. The only thing I've downloaded this year were a few of Colton's performances, and the studio track from last week (I Love to See You Lie) really impressed me. I feel as if he changes it up week to week and he's clever with his arrangements. I also thought he had a HUGE following since he's not been in the bottom 3 at all. I was truly shocked last night, but as you rightly pointed out, definitely not the first time a talented kid has gone home early. I'm rooting for little Jessica and Joshua at this point...I still think Joshua has a moment or two left in him...I hope he has another great performance before it's over. Skylar and Holly...you girls are on borrowed time.
  22. Rivers has a long way to go before he'll be in that conversation, IMO.
