Interesting. Well if you get time, please PM them to me if you don't mind. Many medical issues are not an exact science, which is why I say he's seem to act prudently given the info at hand, but I may just not have seen the same reports you have. Thanks brother.

I can think of about ten TBD'ers off the top of my head who I'd vote for office far more quickly than I would most of the morons we have currently.

Don't take this like I'm beign a dick, cause I have too much respect for you to be that way...but do you have any links or anything that supports what you said? I am sincerely interested in learning more about that if you're saying the NFL is suppressing or disregarding medical information. Just based on my current level of knowledge about the NFL and the steps they've taken to prevent injury, they seem pretty reasonable to me. But I would feel differently if there are feasible suggestions that have been made and the NFL has not taken action, because then we're really getting into the area of liability. The NFL clearly has more resources that most organizations to truly make strides in this area, so if they are truly doing what you said, that will really change my view of them. say wha? lol

Too many people lack the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. Hell, a guy like Fezmid and I disagree on almost everything, but over the years he's become one of my best buds on TBD.

Good post. I think part of the distinction is that there was proof that cigarette companies knew that they were peddling poison, whereas the NFL seems to be making very reasonable efforts to understand an area of health where the body of knowledge is limited. I truly feel that all Goodell can really do is use the best info/research we have, and take precautions accordingly, which includes educating the players on the risks associated with playing the game.

I don't believe I said it was just about the kids. But as adults we are able to processing things as adults...kids don't have that ability. Junior took his issues, put a bow around them, and gave it to his kids as a going away present. They aren't the ONLY ones affected, but they will be the ones who are affected the most severely.

I just can't bear the idea of kids suffering when it can be avoided...

Talk about a group that gets the shaft...it sickens me the way vets are treated in this country.

I agree, and I hate feeling this way...I've spent a lot of time with people who are suffering from severe depression stemming from a variety of issues. My empathy and understanding runs very high - right up to the point where you take your own suffering and decide to hand it off to your children by giving them a lifelong memory and sense of guilt that can never be extinguished. Younger children are literally changed from that type of trauma. They can't process things as we can as adults, and this will be an indelible mark on their psyche. There is a WHOLE lot that falls under the umbrella of "treatment options" that one could pursue before resorting to this. If the kids weren't involved, it's a different story. But when they are, then I place a heavy burden on the individual to do everything and anything they can to get help. Shame on you, Junior.

I'm typically about as sensitive to this sort of thing as anyone, but if he did take his own life and he's got young kids, then I'm sorry, but he's a selfish dickfuk and a coward.

Woman throws outs $1M lotto ticket
ajzepp replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
There must be more to this story than meets the eye, otherwise it just makes no sense to me. Was the ticket signed by the purchaser? I know there are different lotteries, but from what I understand that's the only way to prove ownership of the ticket. If she didn't sign it, how does the judge know it belongs to the woman who claims she threw it away? How did the woman who found it in the trash know it was a winner? Just pure luck? This is very odd, but there has to be one BIG piece of information missing from this story, otherwise I don't see how the judge can order the woman to give the cash back to the woman who claims to have purchased the ticket originally. -
Interesting...sounds like moving to Brooklyn was a pretty smart move then. I dont' have any interest in the NYC teams, but I have to say I think the "Brooklyn Nets" sounds very cool.

Patriots.com Radio Compares Pats to Pedophiles

been a damn long while since we played a team three times...I can barely remember what that was like! -
I've really gotten into headphones lately, and since I've found out that you can add all sorts of radio stations to iTunes and stream them, I've been having fun eavesdropping on the enemy. So about twenty mins ago I'm listening to these three morons talking about something John Harbaugh said recently when asked about the New Orleans bounty hunter program. They played a clip where Harbaugh was asked if he would ever consider bending the rules if he thought he could gain an advantage, and he basically said "no", because "everything sees the light of day in the end and it's just not worth it, just like what happened back in New England". So when they finish playing the clip, one of the three Pats radio guys says, "this whole spygate thing keeps getting brought up...it's just like when you get accused of being a pedophile...it stays with you forever". I'm sure he probably was referring to someone who had been accused of being a pedophile but in no way had anything whatsoever to do with that, but you have got to be a total moron to use this as your comparison. Besides, last I knew, Belichick freely admitted to taping other teams without their knowledge...the question was simply whether it gave them an advantage. After he said it, his two cohorts seemed to change the subject pretty quickly and I can't say I blame them. Also, according to them, all of the top draft people gave them an "A" grade except two. The last thing I heard, and this goes without saying, is that they are already making their plans for what to do in New Orleans since the Pats will definitely be back there in early February. I really hope our new players and the young kids can gel together quickly...I so want to smack these morons in the mouth again this year - preferably twice.

Ouch! I remember that damn Avalanche team...they were friggin good. Actually, that's sort of interesting. If the Bills won the SB and THEN moved the following year, I think the reactions of the fan base would be fascinating since there would be generational differences for sure. Those of us who have been fans since the 80s might be able to see it as "closure" amidst the pain of the team relocating, whereas newer fans might actually end up reacting MORE emotionally to a move. Mind you, the last thing I would ever want is for the Bills to leave, I just think it's interesting to think about how the timing of a SB win could affect the way it's viewed.

Hmmm...okay, so basically what he's expecting would be for a Romney/Gingrich ticket to emerge...Romney becomes president elect in November, but then right before the inauguration in January, something bad happens and Romney is not able to take the oath. Is that a feasible (if incredibly unlikely) scenario in terms of logistics? How else could Gingrich become the next president, just to play Devil's Advocate... have to admit, this is one interesting dude. And for whatever reason, that picture of the kid does freak me out lol.
-
So help me out here...were the Nets always considered a NYC metro area team like the Jets and Giants? Or were they strictly a Jersey fan base? If the latter, was a percentage of the fan base composed of New Yorkers?

WOW, lol...turned the dude into Gollum!

That's badass. I can't believe it's been FOUR YEARS since we were anticipating the Joker's arrival in Gotham. Hard to beleive.

That must have been devastating for Browns fans...ugh
