Northeast due for a major hurricane
Draconator replied to IBTG81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with what eball said. This is AccuWeather folks!!! Remember last year, when Rick Santorum (sp?) wanted to abolish the National Weather Service, and install AccuWeather as the nations "voice" for offical weather news? AccuWeather is also in his district, and gave him a ton of cash for his political campaign's. With what my wife and I do for a living, we depend on local weather forcasts. We're both gardeners. If we have a client that's having a party coming up, we have to check to see not if it's going to rain, but where the rain is going to fall. How hot it is going to be, so we can plant accordingly before major heat stress hits the new plantings, etc. By far, the NWS has been the most accurate. They only issue weather alerts if there is a real danger. AccuWeather issued this story for one reason only. To install a thought of fear and panic. I guarantee you, that if you want "real time" updates if a hurricane is possible during the most active months, they will make you sign up for a pay service for this information. This is nothing more than a money making process for these idiots. If anyone would want the most dependable and up-to-date hurricane information, here's the place to go. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ -
What race was it last year, when they couldn't even get the car fired up in the pit? They brought it to the line, and they did a burnout, but the other driver, Capps I think, red lighted, and they went on. That was Team Force at it's bet, IMHO.

Last year I went to my first nite race, and Del set a new track speed record at Infineon, 324mph. I'd say that Force is a man on a mission this year! He is taking a take-no-prisoners approach. What happened at Pomona last year, really still has him in a fit! Here's Del with the Classic Blue Max! (He made a replica of it last year, and has brought it out to a few races, dry hops and all!) http://www.delworsham.com/2005/dallas/index.htm

Are there any other NHRA fans here? If so, who's the driver you follow? I never understood it, until 2000, where the team manager for Del Worsham's team, Bob Wilbur, invited me to the races at Infenion Raceway, Sonoma County, Bay Area. (It was a Rush thing. Bob and I tried to have a Rush funny car, but the band didn't go for it.) I've been back every year since. NHRA is one of those things where it doesn't look exciting on TV, but when you're at the track, seeing these machines up close, getting blasted by tiny particles of rubber from the tires, the roar of the engines, it's probably the most intense 5 seconds in any kind of sport! Top Fuel I'm following Melanie Troxel this year. My prediction is that she will win the PowerAide Championship! Funny car, Del and CSK teammate, Phil Burkart. Pro Stock, not really that into it, because most NHRA followers know that Greg Anderson has a lock on that division. Bike, Angele Sampey is HOT!!! And Karen Stouffer coming back from having a 500 lb. door fall on her last November is amazing!!!

I've been fairly pleased with Parachat. They just released 7.0, and it runs much more smooth than previous versions of Parachat, but the IPB version has to be 2.1.5, which can be expensive.

This just keeps getting better!!! http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20060313-011438-5398r.htm If adding three possible starters to an inconsistent offense wasn't enough, the Redskins also were on the verge of signing veteran backup quarterback Todd Collins to replace Patrick Ramsey, who figures to be traded soon to either the New York Jets or Miami for a second-day draft pick. -
Seriously... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6031201424.html Randle El was one of the premier free agents on the market, and was one of six players visiting Washington yesterday, along with defensive end Andre Carter, safety Adam Archuleta, quarterback Todd Collins, defensive end John Abraham and Fauria. Abraham, a top pass rusher who is being shopped by the New York Jets, was scheduled to have dinner with coaches and team officials last night, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

My wife has been clamering for snow. Haven't seen any in Walnut Creek, but I know Grizzly Peak (Berkeley Hills) has some snow, and Mt. Diablo is covered. -
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/cont..._fins_0312.html The Miami Dolphins' search for a new quarterback intensified Saturday, when an early morning visit to free agent Drew Brees led to lengthy evening discussions with Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper. The Dolphins are expected to have a new quarterback by the end of today, two sources said. The decision on which quarterback — Brees or Culpepper — will be based on today's meeting with Brees in South Florida.

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/14043733.htm • Considering coach Nick Saban's respect for Bill Belichick, it's no surprise the Dolphins are expected to pursue Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest (likely to be released) and free agent receiver David Givens and offensive tackle Tom Ashworth. Miami also has interest in free agent receiver Josh Reed (Buffalo) and offensive tackle L.J. Shelton (Cleveland).

A good friend and I were talking why more Superbowls have not been here where I am. (Bay Area). - Hotels? Check - Public Transportation? BART. Check - Freeway System? Check -Stadium? uhhh, no. If KC get is, good on them! I've never been to KC, so I cannot comment on how it would do as a host city. It is just plain difficult to get the game. (Unless you're located in Florida...)
-
Let's say Buffalo builds the Stadium and Hotels needed for a Superbowl. What about other infrastructure? More Freeways? Better Metro/Public Transportation systems? New Peace Bridge? It will take a lot more than just a new stadium and hotels for a Superbowl.

Probably a LAMP post. (Duh!) Consider ye selves forewarned. I was trying to figure out my status, and came up with interesting facts. This first scouting report shows that I have been slipping in the draft. Yet after the recent combine workouts, and my Wonderlich scores, my stock value rose, but by just a bit. So I'll make this easy. I'll sign for the league minimum, with a performance-laden contract. Plus, any signing bonus can be given in Unibroue beers, Bombay Sapphire Gin, and a kick ass hot tub, complete with LCD HDTV for sports viewing, and porn. Edet fer spullng ande gramma ehereres

I see the step chair by the kitchen counter. Rachel was there. Did a quick look, everything looked ok... ...until I see that the box of food coloring was opened! Went into our bedroom, and now we have an area of green on the TV, TV stand, rug, bedding. Needless to say, Rachel is in the bath right now. ugh!

Did any one hear a rumor on Jim Rome yesterday....
Draconator replied to destro32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
[stupid illogical scenario] How about the possibility that the Texans shock everyone, and take D'Brick. Reggie Bush falls to #2. If we do this rumored trade, and Reggie Bush is there, would would want him with McGahee in the same backfield? Draft Mario Williams? What would happen?!?!?! [/stupid illogical scenario]
