Well, hell, throw it up there. More than one of us can have the same original thought at the same time. Its a great song and appropriate for this team.

I wanted to do it two days ago but didn't have time to write it. Figured if noone did, I would yesterday. Sorry, American Pie, Don McLean

Going to the Bills - Jets game in the Meadowlands
bills_fan replied to COACH85's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're all going to lot 16C, we have kegs of beer donated by McFadden's (4 of Labatts) and we have several grills that will be going. You just need to bring your own food, but you can cook it on the grills that will be available. Bring some dogs or whatever you want to eat. Beer is free!! (God I loved typing that last line). -
Here ya go!! Bye, Bye Super Bowl Dream A long, long time ago I can still remember How the Bills used to make me smile And I knew if we had one more chance That Marv could make our fans dance And maybe they'd be happy for a while But now the Bills make me shiver With every loss they deliver Bad news on the doorstep I can’t watch one more rep I can't remember if I cried When that damn kick sailed wide But something touched me deep inside The day the dream died So bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team Did you watch without saying God Almighty And do you have faith in Flighty Whitey If ole Ralph tells you so And do you believe in running the ball Can running save Drew from a fall And can blocking be taught by a man named McNally Well I know that Mularkey likes to gamble 'Cause why else, would Drew have to scramble You knew it was 4th and three Man, I just have to disagree Man that Drew sure can chuck But then he just has to duck Wrong team, what a schmuck The day the dream died I started singin' Bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team Now for five years we've been a joke And Whitey’s team knows how to choke But that's not how it used to be When Kelly played for Marv and Bill In a scheme that produced such a thrill The Ralph rocked, cause of you and me Oh and while the opponents were looking around Kelly led the Bills to holy ground 51-3 and the game was adjourned A decisive verdict was returned And while Kelly sat one out Frank Reich proved more than stout The Greatest Comeback left no doubt The day the dream died We were singin' Bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team Gregg had airhorns in a summer swelter Killdrive taught offense that was helter skelter The players tried for a forward pass And Drew landed hard on the grass 17 up 31 down and falling fast With Whitey, our success was not meant to last The offseason he gave us great hope Only to watch our Bills play high on dope I’m a fan and how can I cope, Please just pass over a rope ‘Cause our players tried to take the field The opponents just refused to yield Do you recall what was revealed The day the dream died We started singin' Bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team Oh in there we were all in one place But the Bills were such a disgrace With no time left to start again So come on Drew be nimble, Drew be quick Drew just fumbled then threw another pick Ralph is Whitey’s only friend Oh and as I watched them try to engage My hands were clenched in fists of rage No football coach born in hell Could break that Whitey’s spell And as the Bills just failed to take flight And there was no white knight I saw Whitey laughing with delight The day, the dream died He was singin' Bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team I met Kelly who sang the blues And he passed me a bottle of booze And he just turned away I went down to the sacred Ralph Where I’d heard Shout! years before But Whitey said the music wouldn't play And in the streets the children screamed The fans cried and noone dreamed But not a word was spoken The Ralph’s spell were broken And the three men I admire most Bruce, Andre and Thurman They caught the last train for the coast The day, the dream died They were singin' Bye, bye Super Bowl Dream Drove my Chevy to the Ralph for Whitey’s regime Them good old boys at the Big Tree did scream Screamin' this’ll be the day, a win for our team, This’ll be the day, a win for our team

BUMP This thread is too good to let go away.

Donohoe has had 3+ years, how much friggin time does he want to at least put together a winning streak?? Absent the first half of 2002 and the first 2 games of 03, have the Bills generated any excitment or been relevant at all during Donohoe's tenure??? I'm sick of waiting. Is dealing with this stevestojan the price we have to pay for enjoying 1987-1999? Even the crappy years we had (1997 6-10), you knew we'd bounce back the next year. This team is doing the slow fade off the NFL map. Choices, I don't know what they are either, cept if we start 1-5, write an open letter to Ralph to get Donohoe out of town. And we won't save the postage!! :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
-
I don't think anything short of a 5 or 6 game win streak could get my overly disgusted ass fired up for this team anymore.
-
I was jumping up & down like it was 1992 all over again with about 200 people at McFadden's in NYC. The atmosphere in the 1st half was electric, I lost my voice screaming so much & hoped we were finally gonna make it. Call me an idiot, but I actually thought we were gonna tie that game and win it in OT. Naked fugging bootleg...
-
I haven't changed the sig under my avatar since battling with Spiked. I'm a bledsoe backer, think he gives us the best chance to win, and I firmly believe that he will get it turned around. Both of the first two games were very close and one play could have decided it. I was at Jax & we kicked their asses all over the field, just couldn't deliver a knockout blow. That said, our team is young and learning how to win together. I am confident they will. I've said all offseason, since the schedule came out, this team needs to be .500 on Dec 1 & we're going to the playoffs cause a 4-1 Dec (inclu Pitt game 1/2) is likely with that schedule. Drew's gonna turn it around versus NE. We're gonna break their streak. This team NEEDS a big, confidence boosting win and I think we're gonna get it versus NE.

What's the best way to watch a Bills game?

Only half-way. It worked once...you got any better ideas???
-
I think the paralells are that Bledsoe looks about as good as RJ ever did and we need Flutie to make that hapen, at least he could move around a little bit. I wonder if SD would take a 7th round pick for Flutie??
-
A couple more interesting tidbits from the same article, albeit further down the page... Hmmmm......perhaps Whitfield would like to play RT, thereby moving MW to LG???
-
I couldn't agree more. As an avowed Bledsoe backer and someone who thought the problems were coaching and would be correctable, I have to say that Sunday's game was the absolute worst game I've ever seen Bledsoe play. He was awful. With 3 straight division games coming up, this team NEEDS a big win. Not a moral victory, not playing the Pats tough, no this team NEEDS to beat the Pats at home. Period. It would be even sweeter if our much maligned qb could lead the Bills on a game winning, final drive. We NEED that.

The Bills will BEAT the Patsies! THAT'S

Bills 24 Pats 21 Lindell ends it with a FG, Drew proves he ain't done yet and we gear up to play the Jest and set up a 3-game sweep of the early division games!! Inhale.... I can dream can't I????? -
OT : NHL Hockey. Do the owners have profit..
bills_fan replied to FTW_BillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Part of the problem is that the players may go with a cap, but only if the owners also agree to a salary floor, which they have not yet said they'd do. If the cap was 40 mil and the floor was 30, then the cheaper teams would be forced to spend. Oh yeah, and bring back the old didvision/conference names, they were cool and Bettman is an idiot for changing them. -
Good luck to you pkwwjd. A couple of years back my wife donated a kidney to her sister, so I know what you're going thru. My wife was/is absolutely fine and healthy and so is her sister. My wife did not have it done laproscopically, but the older way, surgically. Of course, I think the surgeon tried to minimize the scar & cut as much as possible (its only about 6 inches and barely noticable at this point). If you have any questions or need any advice for you or your family, feel free to PM me.

I'd love to see the Bills wear the old jerseys...

Guys, this gloom and doom is getting a bit ridiculous. We have a good team that just needs to learn how to finish off an opponent. We'll get there. All this about how we stink, TKO should be traded, waiting for JP etc., is crazy. This season hasn't even really begun yet. For a little refresher, here's how some of last year's plaoff teams started... Dallas (0-1) Final Record 10-6 St. Louis (0-1, then 1-2) Final Record 12-4 New England (0-1, a 31-0 whipping) Final Record 14-2, SB Champs Philly (0-2) Final Record 12-4 Ravens (0-1) Final Record 10-6 Green Bay (0-1, then 1-2 after ugly loss to Arizona) Final Record 10-6 And for the piece de resistance... Buffalo (2-0, dominant 31-0 and 38-17 wins vs NE and Jax) Final Record 6-10 Point is, its early and a lot can change, if we're sitting at 0-6 or 1-5 a month from now, then we can discuss tarring & feathering Donohoe, till then....GO BILLS!!!!

Donahoe, I've supported you this far

Even with the wind at his back, he didn't make it to the end zone. The Jax kicker, when they had the wind, was consistently 6 yards deep in the end zone. Lindell friggin blows. -
No stevestojan. I, along with about 10 guys, are one of those regulars and was in Buffalo with the same 10 guys for the opener. We will all be at McFaddens this week.
-
The deep pass is coming. You guys read what MM said last week..We're not going to be perfect in week 1. Combine that with the fact that the line has not yet jelled (even tho they played better than I thought they would) and setting up a deep ball right now would end up with Bledsoe being sacked. Give it a week or two, I expect to see the full array of offensive weaponary ready, primed and willing to go for the 3 straight division contests we start in 2 weeks.
-
I think, overall, we did not play pretty well. Overall, we dominated the friggin game. We !@#$ed up a couple of plays that were NOT the norm (EM fumble, stupid lateral, pass to shelton on 3rd & goal) and I think that we will correct those things. This team has a chance to be pretty good, but the Raiders and then 3 straight division games will tell us all we need to know. That said, I am seriously concerned about our kicking game, that is not a minor problem.

Steve Christie just signed with someone. I think we missed the boat on not signing him. So he can't make 55 yard kicks, neither can Lindell, strong leg or not. So Christie won't make a 50 yarder, ya know Christie would have made the 42 yarder.
