  1. The problem with this thinking is that we will pay for a new stadium *AND* abortion legislature in Kenya *AND* everything else that comes down the pike.
  2. Something else unique for Gailey this go-round -- he got to choose his ENTIRE staff. He didn't have that opportunity in Dallas where the DC remained in place when Gailey took over as HC. So, this is the first time in Gailey's NFL career that he has a staff that is 100% of his own making. I'm looking forward to how things develop.
  3. It's a real shame the realignment got so screwed up. Buffalo, Pittsburgh, & Cleveland should all be in one division along with Cincinnati, but Ralph felt the Buffalo-Miami rivalry was too important to keep. Imagine the new rivalries that would be in place now had they done it right?! Oh well, I digress.
  4. Looks like her husband was the true moron who just had to get closer. However, neither of them actually succeeded in removing themselves from the gene pool, so that disqualifies them from a Darwin Award.
  5. That is one of the most overused and downright stupid idioms.
  6. Things CAN change -- Charlie Brown finally gets to kick the football -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDURfLc9u0g...feature=related
  7. What more research or analysis is needed? The numbers speak for themselves. True, that doesn't mean it will necessarily project into the future -- especially given the potential 3-headed threat we'll have in our backfield, but I think Tim makes a valid point.
  8. I won't say that Edwards will be the next Brees, but I agree it is possible. We simply do not know. It would be a very pleasant surprise if Edwards can turn his career around this year. I wouldn't rule it out. He's got the coach now. If the offensive coaches can now make the OL play like a real unit, then anything is possible.
  9. At the end of the day, it's all about WINS. That's the only thing that matters. If Trent wins, he can stay around. If he doesn't win, then he needs to move along. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt one more season. He's had a rough go of it during his young career with all the coaching changes and offensive system changes. It must suck to be Trent in this situation. That said, if he can survive all that and come out strong this season, it will only ultimately make him a better QB. The bottom line is that he has to win football games. That's the gold standard by which QBs are ultimately judged.
  10. I understand, given Ralph's age, how and why this and other "what happens after Ralph goes" threads keep popping up, but I have to say I'm tired of them. The guy isn't dead yet! Can we show some respect? I want to see Ralph holding the Lombardi trophy one day in the not-too-distant future.
  11. We all keep coming back to this message board over-and-over-and-over again, so I guess we ALL must have an interest in what idiots think. Seriously, the guy has Butler listed as an ADDITION at the top. If the guy can't even get basic facts straight then his opinion becomes meaningless.
  12. Put down the vodka. Angry drunks suck.
  13. +1 May the best QB win the job in a fair competition.
  14. Can you read? I believe I QUALIFIED my remarks by saying *IF* it happened. And, I fully admitted to not knowing any details. What's your point? All I'm saying is *IF* (that means maybe it happened or maybe it didn't -- in case you didn't know that) it happened that he was fined $138K and *IF* it was due to some off-field incident, that it a LOT of effing money. I'd challenge it. Again, *IF* this even happened -- which I doubt it did.
  15. I agree that Trent does tend to lock in on one receiver. However, I think Gailey will make a brand new QB out of Trent (and the others, for that matter). I'm looking forward to their pre-season performances to see if they've advanced under Chan's tutelage.
  16. Yes, it does appear so for the time being.
  17. Players need to start challenging these fines in court if that is for real. Now I have no idea what Whitner did or did not do aside from what we see in the news, so my opinion is certainly no more informed than anyone else's, but *if* Whitner was fined $138K, that is total bull crap. He should take the NFL to court.
  18. I'm going to give Fitz the benefit of the doubt. Even a great arm cannot overcome a stupid offensive scheme. I think Gailey will make whoever wins the starting spot look better than they have at any point in their careers. I would not be surprised if Fitz wins the job at all.
  19. Well said! I want to see what each QB can do under Gailey's offense during the preseason before making any judgments. I'll give them all the benefit of the doubt for now. I also don't understand why someone would be against a given player. I only want to see the best player prevail in a fair competition.
  20. All I'm saying is that the team has SOME talent. If they didn't they'd be winless or have one or two wins. The organization HAS been inept for a very long time now, but the only way to fix that is to analyze carefully the situation which will inevitably result in rationalizations. I don't equate rationalization with acceptance of the situation. The Bills have been unacceptable the past several years. But as inept as they've been, you still have to weigh all factors, the player talent, the coaching talent, the scouting talent, the owner, and so on. The fact that I can do that and recognize that there is SOME talent on this team in no way is acceptance of their pitiful performance over the years. I agree, winning is the only thing that matters. Almost wins SUCK. They're probably worse than just getting shellacked. The team needs leadership and I think this coaching staff is providing it. I'll remain optimistic that they can turn things around this year.
  21. Lynch even got some good press for signing autographs for breast cancer charity. Nice to see some positive news associated with Lynch.
  22. Thanks to you and others for setting the record straight. I should have researched thread starter's facts before replying, as well. Having said that, it is still true that Buffalo was not out of very many games come start of the 4th quarter, so I'll stand by my earlier post that there is some core talent on this team. However, I should have spotted this post immediately as being incorrect. It didn't sound right when I read it and there was a good reason for that -- it was wrong.
  23. You could have stopped after writing the Subject line -- 'nuff said. Why Ralph kept him after 2008 season is beyond me.
  24. The combination of "playing not to lose" and inadequate conditioning results in 4th quarter meltdowns. That said, this is an impressive statistic. It says that the Bills have the core talent to compete with nearly anyone in this league. Now, they need to learn to go for the kill -- play to WIN instead of not to lose and maintain a physical and mental intensity that comes from training hard.
  25. +1 The police had better be out in significant force the night Bills win a Super Bowl. Otherwise, city will be in ashes.
