  1. I was roundly ridiculed in late June for suggesting that Nelson would make the roster and Hardy would not. Silly me. Edit: However, to respond to your point, I thought Chad Jackson would make it. Also, I didn't think Roscoe would be around given Gailey's like for taller receivers. That's the cool thing about Gailey -- he sees talent wherever it is -- his eyes are open.
  2. I'm convinced more than ever that ANY schmuck can call themselves a journalist. It's truly amazing the crap that passes as journalism. What the hell is this guy talking about regarding gadgets? Amazing.
  3. Listening to Chan's press conference today, I'm not 100% convinced he intends to bring Brown back on the PS. It's possible another developmental QB could take on that role. He alluded to the need for that player to really take the role on the PS seriously -- understand the role of preparing the defense, etc. (not in those words -- just what I read into his remarks). I don't know. I could be wrong, but anyone else listen to the conference and think that?
  4. How does making a waiver claim work? Do all teams have a turn to make a claim (say, in the same order they drafted in)? Does each team have so many minutes to exercise a claim before another team has a chance to? Or, is it first-come, first-serve? Does 24 hours have to pass before player is considered to clear waivers? Sorry, just not quite understanding the waiver claim process.
  5. I really like Nelson. I think he's going to be a bigger contributer than anyone imagined.
  6. Either that or he cleared waivers already and agreed to be member os PS.
  7. Well, it was in the spirit of something like you'd see in "The Onion", but I hear you. I don't see a delete option. Mods feel free to delete if this was over-the-top. My question, however, is a serious one -- how are transactions ensured to be accurate? Hopefully, there are several sign-offs on a communication to league office. Just wondering how that all works is all.
  8. OK, sorry for that -- just some fun. Seriously, what mechanisms are in place to ensure communications to the league office are intentional/accurate?
  9. I think if Buffalo goes after any cut players, it will be among the OL ranks.
  10. you're right -- says nothing of the sort. Probably just some BS post to gauge fan reaction. Edit: Here's the link: http://twitter.com/nyce18 This thread should be deleted.
  11. I really hope he ends up on the practice squad and not some other team's roster.
  12. I tend to agree with you. The Patriots are in transition. Bilichick being the coach that he is will still be in the hunt for a playoff position, but it's not a given. The Jets are overrated. Their defense is very strong, but I question how well they'll play as a team. Also, Ryan is a blowhard. They'll do reasonably well and compete for a playoff spot, but again not a given. The Dolphins will rebound from last season and should be in the hunt, but they have weaknesses. The Bills should be better, but also have a tough schedule, but I think they'll still be in the hunt. I think what you have in the AFC East is 4 teams that could all end up near .500 with perhaps just a win or two separating the top team from the bottom team. I don't think a wildcard will come out of the AFC East. I think the division winner will be the only AFC East playoff team.
  13. They're all getting their last jabs in because it won't be too long that they'll have to find another whipping boy.
  14. Sorry, some things in life you just have to figure out on your own.
  15. Except for a couple of cut decisions, this game means nothing.
  16. What is a FREE, yet decent Fantasy Football league to join?
  17. Chan blamed himself for that loss to the Cards in the playoffs -- said he allowed his team to be over-confident.
  18. He is absent 1969 roster -- not on any team that year -- perhaps he was injured that year.
  19. cåblelady also pointed out that players get season tickets, so could still be a true story. But, as others have pointed out, it doesn't really make a difference one way or the other. It's been fun sleuthing, though.
  20. Thank you. You beat me to it. Yes, it was a 5-team division when Gailey coached the Cowboys. The 13-3 divisional record is accurate.
  21. Yep, you might be on to something there!! This link is loaded with info: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/
  22. Decided to check out some of Die Hard's old posts to look for clues and found this one: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/95097-the-last-straw/page__p__1538538__fromsearch__1 Says in 2009 he was a season ticket holder for 42 years (2009 - 42 = 1967). Does he count his playing days as being a season ticket holder? Interesting.
