The law enforcement at the games are massive dbags, but when you're corralling thousands of drunk people (especially after a loss), things are bound to get hectic.

If people want to see less cop beat downs, one way to do that is to curb the drunken, reckless behavior in the parking lots.

I understand that won't stop butthead cops from being dbags though.

Once we were walking to our cars when our buddy got into a pissing match with a sheriff deputy.  His brother goes to tap the cop on his back shoulder to ask what's going on, at which point the cop's partner body checks the brother against a fence, screaming "Don't you EVER put your hands on a LEO!"

    Never

The turf is being replaced because the concrete foundation has severe cracks and holes in it.Too late to put a new drainage system in $$$,this must be the third field they have put in within the past decade?

Third field in ten years? I don't think so. I believe there was drainage work done to the field last time a new turf was installed.

Only thing I don't like about it is that we open on the road weeks 1 and 2. If we are not careful we could easily end up 0-2 to teams we should beat. And that could possibly bring down the moral of the team and snowball into more losses. Just gotta handle our business on the road

I know the feeling...I'm worried that we could lose our last preseason game and lose momentum going into regular season

Wouldn't you be a bit biased also if you saw a good steady source of income disappearing in a few years?

Yep, Hammer has the most at stake for sure. He should feel like he does. We all would feel the EXACT same way.

My stakes are good. Planned  ahead awhile ago. When they retro NEF or build DT it does not matter to me. But as a TAXPAYING  Western New Yorker I have opinions and for those who know me I'm not afraid to express them face to face or on TBD. I respect others opionion (even if their nonsense is wrong!) and I expect the same back.

    Nonsense?

Just my 2 cents.  I think a retractable roof is a waste of money and not being considered, but a moderately priced domed stadium which is more in line with Minnesota and Indy, and not Jerry's World or Mercedes Dome, is probably going to end up being the answer.

    What's moderately price mean ? 1 billion -1.5 billion?

I'm sorry to hear that you had a problem.    I lived downtown for five years and have worked in the CBD for 30-plus.  Walked to and from work, to and from parking ramps, many times late at night.   In all that time, I can only remember one mugging incident of someone I knew and just a handful of panhandlers.

Crime is not an issue that has to be factored into a stadium location decision, IMO...

Crime is a real fact if your going to be going to a facility and have to go back  to your car in a isolated area due to lack of centralized parking. My friend and I went to a Bills vs Indy game. Walking in Indy, turned the corner, bam saw a stickup. Gun included. Sorry you are safer in Orchard Park than in Buffalo. No shooting in OP this year, Buffalo???

All these posts show the pickle that the Pegulas are in.  No matter what they decide to do, they will upset about a third of the people who go to the games.  I think there are three things though that are clear.

1 ;   The stadium will be built downtown, and unfortunately, it has nothing to do with common sense or the game day experience.  There is simply more opportunities for public officials and union bosses and developers to get rich if the stadium is built down town.  Politicians accepting "campaign contributions" to sign off on the project, union bosses getting their kickbacks, bureaucrats getting an envelope of cash to waive that zoning requirement or environmental impact statement.  The businessmen who already own property down town will be working behind the scenes with the politicians they already own to make sure the stadium gets built there to increase the value of their assets. They will all be angling for a piece of the pie and more people will get a piece of the pie if the stadium is built downtown than if it is built out in the boonies of Erie County in Orchard Park.  There is going to be a billion dollars spent in Buffalo when this thing kicks off.  The biggest project in the history of Western New York.  It is a once in a life time opportunity for all these crooks and they are going to make sure they get as much of it as they can. The stadium is going downtown.  Book it.

2;  This thing will have a roof.  Please refer to the point above.  There is more money to be made on the stadium if it is a year round venue.  The state and city and county are not going to chip in hundreds of millions of dollars for a stadium that gets used a dozen times a year.  There isn't enough profit in it for them and everyone else with their hands in the till.  The Pegulas will be forced to put a roof on the stadium to get the public funds.

3;  The teams HQ and practice facilities will stay in Orchard Park.  The Pegulas are quietly building some of the best facilities in the entire league in Orchard Park.  No sense in tearing it all down after throwing tens of millions of dollars into it.  More than that, it makes no sense to use expensive downtown real estate on weight rooms and training rooms, and cafeterias, and office space when they already have it on the cheap in Orchard Park.

Quietly? It's been announced that the Pegulas the last two years have spent  $36 million on the faculties.

Your grasping at straws here man, easier just to say you'd rather stay in OP. I've been downtown a ton of the last decade never once had an issue nor has any of my friends or family. If there are 70,000 people downtown it is kind of hard to be not noticeable same reason in orchard park things get filmed and seen all the time now

Not grasping at straws. Worked Downtown on a project for a year had it happen almost every day. Wife workers Downtown also happens to her. Fact.

No they wouldn’t. They are looking at $500M (private) and we have $150M with naming rights alone. They can generate another $100M in PSL’s (easily). That’s leaves $250M private (without a concession deal). Call the concession deal another $100M. That leaves $150M. That stadium can EASILY yield an additional $25M a year. This is clear as day (which is why everyone is pushing it).

Ain’t going to happen. No one else is doing that anymore (especially in similar markets). The Pegula’s are asking for half (and will get it).

I do have a master’s degree in sports management and worked closely on a lease deal for an NBA team with the state and the league. I am not an idiot on the topic. ??‍♂️

What do you mean closely.? Chief negotiator?

If you go on Zillow and look for available properties available for sale in the first ward area...there are basically none.  And some of those housing projects in that area look just like Baltimore in The Wire.  Completely abandoned (vacated) with no effort to fill them, but none of them for sale either?  I think that's a pretty telling story.

End of Michagan St is one location I heard. I also heard Cuomo was going to announce a billion dollar aid package for buffalo after he got elected. Waiting .... 201 Ellicott project will be using up 400 plus parking spots.

That is not going to stop many people and there are tons of surface lots

What about security.  Now every Lot can be seen. No bridges or tall buildings to block the view or robberys, breaking. When will the first time a panhandler, crackhead, confront you for bucks in Orchard Park??

The only good thing, and I say good as in it's not as bad as now, is the relative accessibility from the first ward area to the 190.  There are 3 different routes within a mile or two where the stadium would likely be.  Compared to the current traffic that comes out of OP and needing to drive close to 3 miles before you even get to the 219, not to mention the distance to the 90.

219 is a mile and a half from NEF

Contrary to popular belief but there are plenty of lots to tailgate in downtown and there is a large portion of the fanbase with kids, older people, etc.. who would like more options before the game then just tailgating ranging from fan experiences, restaurants, you name it

No grilling in parking ramps. Also I've seen signs no alcohol consumption allowed in ramps.
