  1. Once again (19th time) Hammers Lot is hosting the gathering of TBD lowlifes for a day of food, friendship, & general frolicking at the TBDAHOT.       Parking choices... If you would like "Party" area (circle the wagon style-very limited space) or "General" spot (s) please post 1Party or 1General. Party area parking starts at 6:30 am, spots held till 7:30am, General starts at 7am held till 8:30am. Most Importantly you MUST have a large easy to see sign with TBD P or TBD G on it. This makes it easier for us to take care of your parking needs. Also please tell us your name so we can check it off the list. Parking list closes at 9-14-18 6 pm Hammer Time. On a side note, a former Bill will be part of a crew filming a tailgate based program. If your wanted, or skipping work you might be on camera... ??

Much cheaper is a relative thing. The cost is around $500 million for Reno vs a new which could be the same potentially or in the $600-700 million range. Neither situation is cheap straight up. It's going to be a massive investment in either scenario and for the team, region, politicians, etc.. its a valid question to ask whether to rebuild or go new when the costs are massively different. The studies have been done on locations a few years ago.

I get that your one of the fans which things are perfect and if for eternity things never changed for Bills stadium you would be fine with that. There however are many who are not that way and wayy more forces then just us fans at play that will dictate will the Bills play. If you don't think the city of Buffalo would love to take in the tax revenue that Orchard Park gets plus the general aura/prestige of having the team downtown your dead wrong. Doesn't mean there going back either, but the grand picture is massive.

Orchard Park gets tax revenue? Prove it.

  3. I believe on average there are 150 tables broke at NEF lots per game. Based on what I have heard and seen the day after a game. I don't think there is any signs outlawing table slamming in NEF lots. If you have to do it, do it at a family function (make mom proud) or somewhere else but NOT on my property. It's all fun and games till some one gets hurt. I've been in a paralyze ward in a hospital. It ain't a very uplifting place seeing a loved one or others in a helpless state. So think before you slam. Your cool today, but how many of your friends will be coming over to wipe you azz tomorrow!

Never mind the fact, that the $140 million upgrade was a totally crappy job, and some people pocketed a LOT of dough. (Limestone boulders, instead of reinforced concrete, for 'security' around Abbott Rd.????)

The current stadium was great before the 'upgrade', and continues to be, in my opinion.

'New' is not necessarily 'better'. If PSL's become a reality in a new stadium, then I will take my final leave.....

Jersey Barriers are so much better looking.

Actually, an amphitheater for summer concerts is not a bad investment, especially in comparison to a football stadium.  Keybank can host arena shows, but Toronto has had success with its Budweiser Stage and Scotiabank Arena (all the name changes in Buffalo has warped me so I have no problem calling them by their current names) hosting most of the concerts in the area.  I think it's a wonderful idea!

Ultimately, OP may be the cheapest in terms of land and development to build a new stadium.  You can always build one next to the current site, a la Great American Ballpark vs the old Red/Bengals stadium.

Im pretty sure the upper decks were all re done or at least worked on this summer/currently

I believe the upper decks were worked on last year. I guess it's not so strange that wgrz (pro downtown stadium) has not done a story on all the work done this year at NEF. Restoning one of the lots, new roof on the west end clubs, I believe up grading the ribbon board, club remodeling, remodeling in administration building and concession building, stripping and resealing upper south side of practice  barn, and in each parking lot multiple WIFI antenna install.

Yeah, you'd think if it was her, and the relationship was mutual (i.e., not harrassment), she'd have been shown the door as well for her lack of judgment...

I think they have given her a time out.

I have no idea how well known that is but her name kept popping up in rumors when the Russ Brandon story broke.  I know it isn't something that is out there in the public so that just added to the hilarity of the phone call.

I'm shocked Ken did not mention the pizza delivery girl!

Ehh there’s ups and downs in marriages. She’ll have her time as well.

She always has a great time in Hammers Lot. Look for her on top of Kennys van as she usually is a Mustard girl. This year she turns 21 (we check ids) so we will see how many bowling  ball shots she does!

    Yep, can’t emphasize this enough.

Been parking in two different  private lots for 15 years, nice little slices of tailgate heaven. Yeah there’s still drinking and hootin’ and hollerin’, but it’s at a relaxed, respectable level. Very neighborly.

It's unfortunate that a couple of the larger private lots are under staffed or  the owners just don't care what happens on their property. I believe this year you will see a crack down in those lots. But like what Kidd said their are plenty of respectable private lots around NEF including Chuckie's on Abbott, Shane's on Fay, Bill and Frank's on Glenn, Lori's on Allen just to name a few.

Will that perhaps be more about funding security than discouraging bus trips?

Not funding security. Security is game day expense which I billieve is paid for by the taxpayers of Erie County.

You knew officials were going to do something.  It won’t change the real craziness which happens in the private lots.

Not all Private lots are crazy.

    Question for Hammers Lot;

Do you park RV’s for the weekend? My cuz wants to bring a crew w two trailers. My group parks in Docs Lot, so I figured I’d see if they can set up next door for the weekend, unless it’s gameday only then we’ll try them elsewhere.

    @Hammered a Lot

You should try contacting  Doc. Depending if he has a corporate tent party he might be able to take care of you. My RV/trailer parking is set for the year.

Lost out to Americans need for financial compensation when the target is rich.

A method of thinking instilled in many Americans by liberals believing we need a socialist democracy. IE: take from rich and give to the poor.

Where else in the world could you be walking on a sidewalk in a residential area looking at your cell phone and trip over an invisible crack in the sidewalk and sue the landowner. And win compensation. ?

    God Bless America

The private lot owner would be sued. And anyone who contributed to the injury like a fan friend who pushed the injured off the bus  etc etc..........

They likely would try to include Bills(due to Bills have big money) as the injured party was there to see a Bills game. Bills likely would be excluded from the lawsuit because they have no control over what people do on private property, however, you never know how a court will proceed.

Why would the lot owner be sued? The person injured themselves.

I'm absolutely convinced someone will be paralyzed sooner that later.  I also expect some table jumper will use a poorly constructed table and have the leg support or metal piece impale them as the table crumples.  It's all fun and games until someone gets impaled.

I'm sure the County Exec is trying to save people from themselves but that's a difficult thing to do.

From two different sources, I know there will be changes the way the New Era Bus Lot is run. How exactly will be explained in the future. I remember there was a large group incident there last season. I believe also private lot owners will be "held responsible". What does that mean I only guess if you constantly are a problem lot you could be shut down.

I skipped this thread until saw you were last post. I am always one who does not think there is an issue at Bills games, never have. Y'all know that. And i don't think it is an age only thing, think it is a dumb thing!

Hammer you know the crew I came with is made up of a bunch of 20 somethings..and we have never had an issue. Now them boys like to have a few pops and play some drinking games, as do I, but never an incident.

In terms taking a license/permit...how the hell you going to keep people from walking onto a lot?

Perhaps I should say those under the age of 30 must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult. Do you know of anyone who could chaperone them?

  16. 17 hours ago, Gigs said:

Nah. Bills fans will keep doing this until someone dies from injury or ends up being paralyzed badly. Christopher Reeve merely fell off of a horse. Once that happens, he/she becomes the poster child for what not to do at Bills games.

Either way, this table slamming isn’t going to last. Either it stops because of remorse and regret or the gov steps in and holds everyone’s hands.

How is football a kids game? That’s like saying being a cop is a kids job because every kid plays cops and robbers

The table slammers went from ground level to jumping off Rv's and buses. This has to stop before some one gets paralyzed. My Father 2 weeks before he scrummed from his injuries was paralyzed. My Mom and I were in the paralyzed ward of one of the best hospitals in the US. The heartbreak/helplessness we felt along with seeing other patients family's struggle seeing a loved one paralyzed, I wish on no one. I hope this part of of Marks quote "... you're putting yourself at risk" will lead to the use of Protective Custody. I would rather see Security take action before than have Emergency Medical services be involved with preventable injuries after.

There are a few ways they could fix this problem without ruining the fun for everyone...

    - Be much more aggressive at making arrests for drunk and disorderly conduct.  The postgame police blotter usually has what, 20 to 30 people arrested after a game?  That seems fairly low to me.

    - Have the Bills fund a significantly larger police presence in the parking lots and surrounding streets.  Bring in off duty officers from other jurisdictions like Rochester if you have to.

    - Require all private parking lots to apply for a free permit.  Place a zero tolerance policy on fan misbehavior and if any officer gets a complaint about inappropriate behavior from a source other than the lot or its owners, revoke the lot's permit for the remainder of the season AND the following season.

It's not exactly rocket science.  This goes on because the law isn't enforced and the consequences aren't severe enough.  Enforce the law, put teeth in them, and these problems solve themselves.

Business zone properties are required  to Pay for a parking permit while Residential zone properties Don't have to pay for a permit. You shut down a parking lot because of the actions of moron parkers, what do you think the morons will do. Stay home or park in another Lot? I have signs with rules on them which covers my arse.

Not that I love all the crazy stupidity on gamedays, but if it's on private property they can do whatever the *&!& they want for the most part. Took me two seconds to realize this guy is a Democrat, and a search for his name confirms it. Take away civil liberties(if dumb%%%@@ want to jump on tables they can) on emotionally charged politics and waste a bunch of tax money in the process that solves nothing.

I have signs on my property which say no tableslamming yet it happens. I guess this year I will have to have a age requirement to get in. No one under the age of 30 is allowed on the property.
