  1. OT: in case anyone is interested, Trent Edwards is now in at QB for the Eagles.
  2. The official list: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Thigpen-sticks-Sanders-to-I-R-as-roster-pared-to-53/c35be1e4-c99f-4669-91ec-2f8c291bbcdc
  3. Buffalo News blog (TG) says they're keeping Thigpen and Jackson, and Dickerson. Also confirms list of WR cuts.
  4. With buffalonews.com being down for at least the last 30 minutes or so, this is as good a time as any to ask this. In a few months, when they start charging to view their content, I'll be looking for another site for my local news anyway. I refuse to pay for the privilege of reading any sort of "just news" content on general principle. Anybody have a favorite site for local Buffalo news?
  5. Breaking down the OL a little more systematically: (assumes no major injuries or surprises) Assuming everyone is healthy, training camp will probably open Hairston-Levitre-Wood-Urbik-Pears Glenn will wind up taking one of the starting T spots, or at worst be the #3T. Most teams keep 9 OL, so that leaves 3 spots left. Ideally you would like a mix of proven vets and developing young players among your backups. Competing for these 3 spots you have: Rinehart Brown Sanders Asper Jasper Young (everybody else) Sanders will need to look good enough in preseason that the coaching staff decides they can't risk trying to put him on the practice squad. That might wind up bumping Rinehart or Brown off the roster, Looks like Asper and Jasper will be competing for the last roster spot, with Young and everybody else just there in case somebody gets hurt.
  6. I haven't had season tickets for a few years. One of the advantages of TicketExchange is you don't need the physical tickets in order to transact. The person buying your tickets can just print out their own copies after purchase.
  7. To put this in perspective: Jasper dressed for the final game last season, but didn't get on the field. So even though it was a meaningless game, and they presumably wanted to evaluate talent if possible, they didn't even put him out there for field goals and extra points. I think it's fair to say that he still has a ways to go if he wants to secure a roster spot. Realistically, they probably expect him to complete for the 4th G (or T) spot on the roster. For the 3rd spot, you need somebody that brings more to the table than him (pardon the pun) , because that player will very likely get some significant reps during the season. You can afford to be more flexible with the 4th spot, since that player wouldn't be expected to see as much playing time unless there happened to be a rash of injuries.
  8. http://forums.kffl.com/threads/295029-tell-me-about-Mark-Anderson Here's some feedback from NE fans on Anderson. General consensus is he's a good pass rusher but no better than average otherwise. Might not be an every down player.
  9. Nickel: he could have just said that opposing offenses lined up with 3 WRs 47% of the time. 3-4 vs. 4-3: not particularly meaningful, if when you're in the 3-4 one of your "LBs" (typically Kelsay) has his hand down and otherwise looks to me like he's lined up just like all the other DL.
  10. Here's a breakdown of the changes: QB Thigpen, Smith Edwards, Brohm RB J. White Lynch WR Easley, R. Martin Evans TE Chandler, Painalto Stupar, (S. Nelson) OL C. Brown, Hairston, Rinehart, Pears Hangartner, Green, Howard, Meredith, Wang DL Dareus, Heard Stroud, McCargo LB Eddins, Merriman, Barnett, Sheppard, Morrison, C. White Ellis, Ellison, Maybin, Ayodele, Torbor, Coleman DB A. Williams, Rogers, Searcy Whitner, Youboty, Corner, C. Harris certainly looks like an upgrade on the defensive side
  11. I used to shop almost exclusively at the Tops closest to me, (Elmwood) in part because it's within walking distance. For a variety of reasons I've started also shopping at Wegmans-Alberta Dr. once or twice a week. A pattern I've noticed, which I wasn't expecting: Wegmans has lower prices on quite a few items, in particular relatively high volume items. Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Franks - all at least 20 or 30 cents less at Wegmans. Hamburger - about 50 cents a pound more at Tops. Perry's/Breyers Ice Cream - used to be $4.49 at Wegmans, $4.99 at Tops. But Tops just raised their prices to $5.49/$5.29. It seems like the only things that are less at Tops are what's on sale. Anybody else notice this?
  12. A few weeks ago while watching a Sabres game on TV I noticed someone in the crowd wearing a Gerbe jersey. It was a woman who weighed AT LEAST 200 pounds. Couldn't help but laugh.
  13. I ran a few trace routes, and discovered that channelsurfing.net, atdhe.net, and rojadirecta.org all resolved to the same hosting company. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that's not a coincidence.
  14. I wonder where Wang went to eat after "lunch". A bowl of soup, a piece of fish and some rice/vegetables is a pretty skimpy lunch for a football player.
  15. Here's a link: http://www.newser.com/article/d9ipn2180/bills-owner-wilson-tells-ap-it-could-take-3-years-to-rebuild-calls-drafting-qb-top-priority.html Don't know if that's the entire content or just a tease.
  16. I just checked my download speed, it's about 5500 kbps. For streaming internet feeds, that's the only number out of the ones you have listed that would really matter. I've streamed a few hockey/football games recently and they were a little choppy at times but watchable. The only other issue you might have is the speed of your computer itself. If you have an old/slow computer that can't keep up with the feed, nothing else will really help that.
  17. They have to release someone because Shawn Nelson is coming off suspension. I'm guessing Cary Harris.
  18. IMO the problem isn't letting people such as Fletcher and Spikes go. The problem is not finding adequate replacements. As an example, the Bills coaching staff decided early on to convert to the 3-4, and had the entire off season to build their roster accordingly. About a month before training camp, they signed Reggie Torber, who had started 3 games in the prior two seasons. He immediately stepped into the starting lineup, as he was better than anyone on the roster at weakside OLB,
  19. deferring made sense to me. With the crappy weather, you've got a good chance for a quick 3 and out, or maybe even a turnover. Every coach's decision will look bad if the players on the field don't make the plays.
  20. What you need to keep in mind is: A) having a religious belief B) forming a legal opinion C) using your religious belief to directly influence your legal opinion aren't necessarily the same.
  21. No I'm not. If the government bases a policy directly on a religious belief, that's a de facto endorsement of that religion. That's not legal.
  22. The 1st Amendment. The Government can't endorse/promote religion, period.
  23. Because (among other reasons) Religion-based policy decisions are blatantly illegal? Is this a trick question?
  24. Of course there's nothing wrong with someone allowing their religious beliefs to influence this or any other (personal/private) decision they make. However, it's not appropriate for people to try to shape public policy based on their religious beliefs, because of course not everyone will share in those beliefs.
