I went back on the TIVO several times to watch the late hit. I was sure when the play happened that he launched himself towards the RB before the RB went out of bounds. After a couple of replays, frame by frame, the RB's right (IIRC) foot was planted on the ground when Donte had already begun his tackle. Contact was made between the two players while the RB's foot was still in bounds -- and well before any part of the body touched the white stripe. Even if it was late, I liked the spirit of the hit. I like Donte being anxious to hit people.

Touchbacks should only be out to the 10 yard line -- encourage bringing the ball out of the endzone. Kick/Punt/fumble/INT returns can possibly be the most exciting plays of the game -- great moves, monster hits.

I would find it difficult to believe anyone that said that either QB playing for us last year was NOT in a situation where he was set up to fail. The game planning in the first 4 games last year was not the gameplan for a first time pro QB. By the time MM figured that out, he benched JP and began to run for the bus. The only reason that JP played again last year was because KH got hurt -- and even MM couldn't keep JP out of the lineup the following week.

I think you have to combine a few of those choices into one choice. TD tagged Peerless and traded him to ATL for a #1, which freed up cap space to sign TKO, and gave us a draft pick to take McGahee. Sorry, but this is the biggest move for the Bills since the Cornelius Bennett trade in the late 80s. We may not have had the total payoff from this yet, but it has been a sweet move anyway ... and now we have PP back.

Did anyone notice that the colors are back to the old Red, White & Blue?

This has been my pet peeve with the NFL for years. More often than not, when a down by contact fumble occurs, the whistle doesn't come for at least three or four seconds. I don't think the refs in the NFL blow the whistle very quickly. I believe the change will refer to those quick change of possessions that occur between the time that the ref thinks the player has been tackled and when he blows his whistle. Using TIVO last season, I would go back and check the whistles on those plays and they happen ALL the time.

I wondered if getting a blocking TE in FA spells the end for Shelton. Do the Bills go to the HBack instead of a FB?
