  1. Anyone with RW's kind of jack does some serious estate planning to try and keep the tax-man at bay. I am sure that contingencies exist for all possible scenarios. But, you can't do much estate planning after you go toes up, so the smart thing to do is sell the team before he passes with him retaining some life estate ownership interest that terminates on his death. Not surprised that his heirs want to cash out on what has turned out to be a marvelous investment, when you consider his franchise cost him $25k, and is now worth at least 1000 times that.
  2. In Columbus, it's hard to beat the burgers at Thurman's cafe. About the size of a dinner plate, piled high with condiments of your choice, cheese, bacon, etc.
  3. I have 2. If keith McKellar had not made a show-stgin catch of a 1 yard pass during that last drive, we would have had time for 2 or 3 more plays. Also, the fact that the Giants controlled the ball for 40 minutes indicts our third-down defense.
  4. It's called insurance fraud and it is a big business. I should know, I represent businesses and insurance companies that get sued.
  5. Wow, Rick is getting on. Irv, Rick and (Commander)Tom with the "Weather Outside" man, that brings back memories. WKBW - Sandy Beach and Danny Nevereath (sp). 6. OK, Coach - I checked. the Jag-Wires are the only similarly dissed team with a 9-7 record which will not appear on MNF. Meanwhile, Dallas (x2), and Washington at 6-10 will appear, as will KC and Carolina at 7-9, and New Orleans, Minnesota and St. Louis at 8-8. Who loves 'ya baby!
  7. I didn't have time to check the entire schedule, but are there any teams which had winning records last year that are NOT on Monday Night Football - other than the Bills?
  8. They would all be away games and we would get punked.
  9. All those All-Pros - Ritcher and Wolford, Reed, Thomas and Kelly, Bruce, Conlan, Talley and Bennett, Tasker - what a special group of players. And Marv "When it's too tough for them - IT'S JUST RIGHT FOR US"
  10. I really should read the entire thread first, eh?
  11. Our local PBS station showed a one hour documentary on the "Churches of Buffalo" last night. Very impressive, especially in HD. St. Stan's, St. Louis, Lady of Victory Basilica, UNitarian, St. Paul's, First Episcopal, etc.
  12. I second the vote for Tim Anderson - I watched him for 4 years at Ohio State- he has a lot of Fred Smerlas in him, (but his bad attitude is reserved for the field)
  13. Uncle Sam's - that takes me back. Saw a group there back in 68 or 69 - they called themselves the Chicago Transit Authority. Heard they shortened their name shortly after that. Hmm....
  14. "And we're just the guys to do it" John "Bluto" Blutarski, Animal House, 1978
