My take: If KC beats Pittsburgh on Wednesday…
Kelly to Allen replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
This isn't complicated If on Wednesday the 2 seed is clinched for buffalo ( KC and Texans win) You play the starters vs the jets a couple series/ 1st qtr and then rest everyone week 18. If we to beat the jets to secure the 2 seed, you try to blow out the jets and then rest everyone week 18. -
The bills didn't give a crap about that game. It's not politically correct or coach speak but it's true.... They cared enough to get the win and not get injured. I don't care about this game or the jets game as long as they win.

CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....

I mean I'm kinda joking with it a bit lol. I agree Tony soprano's character arc would go back and forth between, hero, anti hero and villain protagonist. But he was generally a flawed character My point wasn't about Tony soprano's moral scruples, it was that showing weakness and vulnerability is usually a dangerous proposition in a position of leadership. Interesting enough, I do agree kinda with some of your take on the sopranos, but Dr melfi and her worldview was pretty naive and hypocritical. Almost to the point of humiliation and moral relativism run amok...As was the priest , Tonys wife Carmella. Certainly others too.... As evil as Tony was, he was in touch with reality as a " gang leader / mob boss"...But he would obviously not be someone I would view as a " hero ". He was at his worst a manipulative sociopath but also had some redeeming qualities. His relationship with the one legged lady was my favorite of the show. I'm paraphrasing but she said something along the lines of " you Americans have too much time on your hands. Ppl in Russia always expect something bad to happen, while ppl in the West or America never expect anything bad to happen..." Tonys character was at it's highest moral high ground when he reflected on that along with finally commencing justice on Ralph even when it would've cost him a lot of money and resources... It's probably a bad example. Like I said the character archetype is an example of how weakness in many forms of leadership is extremely dangerous. Not an endorsement of the characters moral integrity.... General Patton is more just a nostalgic archetype. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was kinda joking 😉 -

The line is you don't allow what is happening now. The opportunity for ppl around you to question your internal fortitude. It's not fair but look at the thread. Imagine if it was something serious in life? Again Tony soprano, General Patton. Never show weakness -

General Patton never cried. Ever. And like Tom Hanks said, " there's no crying in baseball!!!" In fact coach Ryan's should make CJ watch the movie " Patton" from 1970. And I would make him watch the opening speech in that movie over and over again. I would also make Stroud watch Saving Private Ryan. Time for Stroud to be tough -

Men have no choice but to be part of a warrior class in a society. Regardless of the culture. It's not a choice. It's an existential necessity. If not, that ppl won't exist anymore. Don't confuse modernity with existential truths... Do we enjoy more comfort now, better technology? Sure. It doesn't change basic human nature and power dynamics at work. If you show weakness, human beings will generally take advantage or exploit them. ( It's happening in this thread right now, ppl are asking new questions about Stroud and his leadership etc)....This will always happen among ppl in your group and ppl who are your enemies. Look at all the discussions about Caleb Williams and his body language last week.... It matters. Go rewatch the sopranos, my favorite show ever. Tony soprano noticed a certain disrespect among his crew. He knew at that point it was impossible to trust him. This aspect of human nature is not something we can move past. It's part of life and the human condition This is why we love sports and football so much. It's symbolic of life and many lessons can be drawn from football. Strategically and in philosophy. -

I actually didn't have a car lol. What was cool tho, I worked nights obviously and I could literally eat whatever I wanted during break, and then after midnight I would always make a huge meal to take home. Obviously when you're younger and playing sports you can eat anything you want lol I would combine the breaded chicken patty with a double cheeseburger. I would make two of those with everything plus fries plus a huge frosty. I would even bring my GF at the time something usually. My manager was super cool. He was retired military and already had a pension. He said once he retired he just wanted a simple job with ppl to talk to. Dude would play pink Floyd loud as we closed and cleaned up. But that was the last time I cried. I was 19 and my first GF broke up with me. My father saw me crying in my room and told me to go lift weights, cut the lawn or find something to do. Not to mope around and feel sorry for myself. I went on to join the military. My manager at Wendy's was a big reason I joined. Great great memories. Who would of thought at the time working at Wendy's would have a profound impact. Cj Stroud will be fine. We all mature as men around that age -

Your QB has to be like Achilles in Troy. Think of a great warrior. It's important to show zero weakness among your lieutenants and adversaries. -

Nobody has an issue with him caring... It's not good optics in a leadership role. Obviously it's just a football game and it was a bad injury but it's important to be a battle tank commander archetype ( a hero archetype) as the QB in football. It's symbolic in life It's honestly not that big of a deal and he's still a young man but he's gotta be tough. I thought he responded well to a couple bad picks and kept battling under pressure in arrowhead. It's a good sign. I knew KC would win that game. Texans have a bright future, but I just don't think they have the maturity yet I don't think they'll be an easy out tho.
