The whole “there’s a time and place” line always seems to show up when someone tells an uncomfortable truth too soon for the people who need to hear it most. The cartoon isn’t mocking the victims - it’s criticizing the leadership that failed them.

	And if the goal is to prevent future tragedies, the worst thing we can do is stay silent out of deference to the feelings of those in power. Silence protects the status quo - just like the status quo is kids being gunned down in classrooms while nothing changes.
 
	 
 
	Also, calling it a “cheap shot” ignores the fact that this administration and Republicans have a track record of undermining climate policy, emergency preparedness, and local infrastructure investment. If you want receipts, they exist - but I’m not sure you’re actually looking for policy analysis. You’re just mad someone pointed a finger.
 
	 
 
	If a cartoon can spark that much outrage, maybe it hit a little too close to home.
