  1. Bills 24 Jets 17 If we go at least French vanilla. Full on lactose free vanilla and we get beat.
  2. Hopefully the offense will be at least French vanilla this week rather than just plan old vanilla.
  3. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter
  4. Hope Steelers win but Mahomes led Chiefs have blown out Steelers last few years.
  5. I sorta doubt this will happen, but we'll see. IMO, if he was going to be the future CB2, he would have been active for all games this year. When everyone is healthy, he often gets scratched. Maybe the coaches just don't want him on special teams if he is a backup CB, but it's still weird to me. He's a really good athlete but he just doesn't get his head around consistently when the ball is in the air. Ball awareness is a good term I suppose. There are many people playing college football that are just like this. Elam seems to not be able to make that step. If you don't, you can't play in the NFL.
  6. I haven't re-watched the game, and given the holiday week probably won't. Watching the game it sure seemed the Pats threw to Elams side a lot more than Benfords. I read that Douglas said he could have played against Detroit. It'll be interesting if they put in more defensive starters against the Jets. Maybe it'll depend on the Steelers/Chiefs result this Wednesday and whether the #1 seed is even still in play by next Sunday.
  7. Agree, look bad. Looks especially bad against the Patriots. I almost got confused which team was which at my advanced age.
  8. Maybe I missed this in other threads, but I have an honest question from yesterdays game. Has the coaching staff or anyone else indicated why Spector was starting instead of Williams? Does Williams still have a lingering injury? I know opinions vary on a lot of topics on this site and elsewhere (it's ok, kinda fun with all the highly engaged fans), but I don't think I'm stepping out too far on a limb to say that Williams is better than Spector. My not so hot take might be Spector is in the running for least effective player on a not too effective defense lately...
  9. Yeah I'm totally with you on the #1 seed, I just have little hope it'll happen. The Bills should win both if they play better than yesterday. However I just don't see KC losing to Pittsburgh and Denver the way this year has gone. KC has been really lucky and they are super clutch when needed. The biggest things are I don't want to play Cincinnati (unlikely) in the wild card and am definitely not at all looking forward to Baltimore (likely) in the divisional round.
  10. Yup, changes need to happen for the Bills to have a good chance in the playoffs. There are always bounces and strange things that can happen in any one game, but beating 4 good teams in a row is almost impossible with a defense like this.
  11. Pats played a lot of man coverage. We were fortunate on turnovers. Very ugly. But it was a W.
  12. Can't even turn his head around most plays and continues to be grabby. Pretty clear why he's been inactive many weeks.
  13. Sure Andreesen can't be worse than Spector? Time to send a message IMO.
  14. This is the worst defense I've seen in a while. Spector is useless. Von can't finish anything. Zone is getting killed. Early blitzes ineffective.
  15. My parents used to have one of those really big thermos type things. They used to put the cans of beer and flasks of booze in there during the first several years at Rich Stadium. I remember the crowd was always pretty hammered. One year we played the Colts with QB Bert Jones. A guy near us seemed to only be able to say "Hurt Bert" every few minutes. Childhood memories to be savored.
  16. I was at that game. My first game, I was 6. I was in a full "snowmobile suit" as we called them back then. Serious pia to take a leak while wearing one of those. I don't remember any guns. I do remember it was a tie however.
  17. A couple more thoughts. I think given his long career and tremendous production, Bruce is a proven all time great player. Allen doesn't have the longevity or records yet, but he is very much the MVP to his team and probably the whole NFL this year. I don't know that any defensive player could be MVP in the modern NFL. Bruce was one of the best ever at his position. Allen may end up there. P.S. I will gladly contribute to a statue fund if they win the SB with him at QB. I also remember the whole stadium yelling "Juice, Juice, Juice!!". Pretty exciting stuff for a 3rd or 4th grader who got to go to one game a year...
  18. Meh, the Vikings netted a few yards via that interception. But when you are 4-9, I'd intercept it too. Pad them stats.
  19. Tremaine Edmunds has such an athletic profile. Sure am glad we let him walk. He is truly great at making tackles from behind and watching the safeties make tackles.
  20. Got to maintain the focus. Can't come in flat. End it early.
  21. Josh might be eventually, but if you saw the 90's Bills you know we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. This season I think Allen deserves the MVP. I'm not even saying it was Bruce. But the man was like a great white shark on the field. The opposing offense had to know where he was on every play. One of the best difference makers of all time.
  22. Its awesome when the Bills win. Makes for a good week of checking websites and listening to podcasts. But everyone should realize no team has ever won the Superbowl with a defense that gives up this many points. I'm not trying to be a downer here, I'm just pointing out the concern is real. There is time to "fix" it. But the problem is McDermott is iron clad wedded to the scheme, and IMO we just don't have the players this year to consistently properly execute the scheme or rise above it. We have to pressure the passer and play really disciplined zone. Because even when healthy we can't get away with playing man very often. It's all about the pass rush and getting decent LB and DB play. We've had trouble the last two weeks getting those at the same time. So as I see it, if we don't tighten up somewhat on defense, Josh has to go historic super human mode 3 or 4 games in a row to get to the promised land. It's possible, but not likely.
  23. This was a helluva win. I really didn't expect the Bills to win prior to the game, but as soon as it got started you could tell we had a chance. The Lions are a very legit team, though Goff did not play perfectly (unlike Stafford last week). I hope we can get our defense playing consistently at all three levels in the near future. With JA now in his ultra prime years, I think the offense can score enough. Keep the turnover differential in positive territory and anything is possible.
