  1. I lived in Greenville for six nice years, 1997-2003, and liked a lot of things about the area. Pizza, however, was not one of those things, alas.
  2. The funniest thing about all this, of course, is that Robin Williams, being a solid Lefty, would never endorse the positions attributed to him. Even the real quote at the end is usually expressed not as a triumph but as as sad/ironic commentary on the present American attitude when he says it in concert.
  3. Could be... either way, it is clear that TD and Co. know something about selecting talent.... Glad you agree on Bailey. I lean heavily toward Mary Ann as well, but have to admit the appeal of a red head....
  4. Someone should tell that to Bruce Smith... they arrested him for sleep apnea.
  5. I agree with you cincy, and would go one step further. As much as I love football, it bugs me that it tends to bring out the worst in a certain kind of fan as well as in the writers and journalists who cover it. The tendency toward chest-thumping, toward denigration of opponents, the kind of nasty behavior discussed in the thread about stadium neighbors, all reflect a coarsening of humanity that accompanies much of the game. Part of it is the inevitable response of humans to a spectacle of violence and aggression that quickens the pulse, but part of it is also people unable to realize that they are not out on the field tackling people... Before anyone starts talking about "New age fans" and "kumbaya" and all such nonsense in response, I repeat that I love football, and enjoy good hard hitting as much as the next guy, but I do think it unfortunate that class too often gets crowded out of enjoying the game.
  6. Mike Martz... I'm guessing that his membership in the "Genius coach Club" has expired by now... Talk about an illustration of the Peter Principle....
  7. Eeeewwwww..... I mean, I'm a fan too, but.... There is a boundary between "charming commitment to the crushes of one's youth" and "uh, buddy, ever heard of a restraining order?" This site appears to be built right on the border.... Still, the pics are nice.
  8. No problem... I was just trying to get noticed. Thanks for enabling!
  9. I guess I am too subtle for my own good.... see the P.S. to my first post in this thread... I will now return to the land of the invisible and ignored.
  10. Joe... I do not want to argue with a celebrity, but that's not true. Reed had a great rookie year in 2002, playing in the slot and making a slew of good plays, especially on third down. His decline began in 2003 when he was expected to replace Peerless.... He still might need to go, but I figure we shouldn't allow present complaints to obscure the past.
  11. Right there is reason #1 why I think Fantasy Football is a tool of Satan, designed to undermine our holy attachment to one team. But that's just me....
  12. nice... and an interesting site... less static than bb.com
  13. CH... not to be a pest, but how many times did we punt from the 30 with Lindell the last two years? I remember Greggo doing it against the Pats, but that was with Mike Hollis in 2002. I know Lindell has missed his share of kicks that hurt (against Jax and Pit last year, against HOU the year before), but to be honest I cannot think of a single time when the Bills chose to punt rather than try a FG because of him. Perhaps my memory/imagination is not as fevered as some in this room...
  14. Oh, I know just what you mean... It is funny, since rationally we all know that a figgie from that distance is extremely missable, but we also want our kickers to be perfect...
  15. You should hear what people in Philly think of David Akers for missing two from beyond 40 inside a dome last night..... Lest we think that accurate distance kickers are a dime a dozen. Go Bills!
  16. I hope you are kidding... TD is referring to the League's approval of the uniforms. Like it or not, the NFL places pretty tight restrictions on uniforms, and yes, it does take time to get that formal approval....
  17. Ah, Denny Green, that master poker player... he sure showed up TD on draft day....
  18. True.... it is hard to throw with one hand while scratchin' with the other....
  19. Just watching NFL.com it looks as though Mike is having a wee bit o' trouble completing passes... how off is he?
  20. Ah.... did not know that. Back in 1994, the first year with throwbacks, each team had a road and an away throwback, and wore them both. Bills wore theirs on a Monday night home game against Denver and a sunday game in Houston. Though in that year they wore those silly red helmets with a white Buffalo because they were afraid that a different color helmet would lead Jimbo to throw to the wrong side...
  21. Bills could play in their throwback road unis... such as the ones they wore in the 1965 AFL championship game in Balboa Stadium...
  22. Actually, I think that they have no relationship to each other.... Stats might make for interesting comparison for a while, but if the Bills win consistently, it will make no difference to me if Drew's rating is twice Losman's. Drew is a good man, and I am really sorry that it did not work out in Buffalo, but it was time for him to go. I won't pull for him because I hate the Cowboys, but I will not begrudge him his success. I do hope that within a few weeks we will all be so fixated on the Bills' winning that we will not have constant statistical comparisons between two qbs who play completely contrasting styles and thus cannot easily be compared... but that's just me. Go Bills!
  23. Touché! But... de moribus nihil nisi bonum... Seriously, though, am I the only one who remembers the posts on this board hinting that TD (or, as some wanted to call him, Ol' Whitey) was racist for drafting white defensive linemen?
