I don't care what Ol steve in houston says about Josh Allen and I do not care what Allen says about steve. In a perfect world Buffalo will win at Houston and then get Houston at home in an AFC Championship where they win that too.

He is a tricky one to me. He represents kind of the player they are staying away from committing to. He is going to be 30 when the season starts. Just to make him happy they may have to do something but after the changes this offseason I imagine they do not see him as a guy here for very long.

Right but this won't be a team running the ball to hide it's quarterback. Its going to be a running team because it has all the parts to be an excellent one. and the success in the running game is going to make Allen even more dangerous. He is acting like they are going to be the 2000 ravens or something. No they are going to run about the same as they always have except like late last year they are going to be better at it and able to do it at anytime. Its not going to be run - run - pass - punt like some team knowing they cant pass protect or knowing they can not move the ball in the air. This is a running game that is going to be attacking and setting up more efficient 3rd downs and creating big play opportunities. I just fail to see why fans are not understanding here that as a unit, this running game is going to be awesome. Excellent Line, Excellent tight ends and excellent backs....Defenses will always have to protect against Allen first on top of all that. Throw in this year they now have what appears to be two excellent backs who can run and catch out of the backfield along with a gadget guy in samuels. This team is just going to be able to do all kinds of things out of the same formations or looks if you will.

They tried according to reports. They wanted Nabers pretty bad but no one wanted Jefferson because of his contract. he just got a contract that is kind of like Devante Adams in Las Vegas. I think the % of cap are similar and the situation is semi similar....although The vikings system and other parts are better on offense.

I don't understand this at all. If what I said happens that means Allen will be extremely efficient and have an incredible season plus hopefully have fewer hits and carries. As John Elway once said, the quarterback gets paid to win on third down and to score touchdowns in the redzone. with a great running game Allen can be better than ever. This idea that a great running game is a detriment to the passing game or qb is completely baffling to me. if this team has Allen and a great running game late in games with a lead they are going to be extremely hard to beat just as they were when they went on their run last year. I can't imagine a situation worse for an opposing defense than to have to be trailing vs Buffalo and needing to use an extra man to play the run late in games. Allen will kill defenses if this is the case.

They better be. They are built for it and it will help this young in transition defense. Imo in a perfect world this season the bills are top 3 in Rushing, Yards per carry and time of possession. Which I believe will lead to them scoring a lot of points and winning a lot with this difficult schedule.

I was referring to Kyle. He played in Kyle's offense in washington and sf. ironically, the shanahan offense with the gibbs-mudd-mcnally running game doesn't require lineman to beat the guy in front of them per se. Its essentially the unit beating the d lineman to a spot and using double teams to create seams for the backs to be patient and then quick to the hole while the free lineman gets to the second level and cuts down the lb. I get what you are saying though and it is true of the nfl and all sports, you have to beat the man in front of you.

and much like Houston the system they run is built to be as logan paulson said about Shanahan's offense, if the qb has any idea what he is doing the offense is idiot proof. the vikings run McVay's version of Shanahan's offense. They will be good on offense if the QB is just average. The Bills in no way are a ground and pound offense. They as a unit...O-Line, Backs and Tight Ends should have an excellent running game though.

Well I never said that about the vikings. I am referring to his deal in terms of having to trade for a guy like that and give up resources and then paying him. The vikings did what they have to do. They had to pay him. They are staring at last place and an angry fanbase this season if the qb they drafted turns out to be poor. If I ran the vikings I would have traded jefferson, and if reports are true they tried to repeatedly leading up to the draft and wanted to take nabers but no one would trade knowing the contract Jefferson wanted. so yea I applaud the Bills for taking the shot on Miller and I completely understand why the Vikings paid Jefferson. Again they had to. now for the bills sake I hope the vikings win 4 games next year and the qb is awful. That second round pick becoming a top 6 or 8 pick would be incredible.

I hear ya. I like this offense personally. I think when the season starts they are going to press defenses all over the field. I am in love with Ray Davis and can't wait to see him. I believe Davis is going to earn a big role here and will get a ton of carries and snaps. I think they have plenty of weapons as long as the offensive line is healthy and Allen is healthy. It will take time to get going and I have high hopes for Coleman in the future but for this year I think he will have a role but will underwhelm statistically, but the offense as a whole as one unit will be excellent. I think the shortcomings on this team are up front on defense.

well that's the rub right....You can not miss on high picks or it sets you back and creates situations like the bills (and most everyone else) have where you have pressing needs for difference makers at multiple positions at the same time. I applaud them for going and getting miller but it has been a complete disaster. They get an A for effort but it hasn't made a dime's bit of difference in the big picture and now this year Miller is actually hurting the team. Hopefully he can do something and be worthy of being active on gameday at least.

IMO the team has to be good enough to Double Dip if you will at a position like wr early in the draft in repeated years. I don't view buffalo as being on that level yet. Depending how this season goes, they might be in a position to do that next year. I just feel like they need to be better up front on defense and just like wr you do that through the draft. Green Bay in the late 00's did this exact thing, they drafted wr in the 2nd and 3rd round like 3 or 4 years in a row. Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Randall cobb to go along with Donald Driver.

I think the Bills make the playoffs this year but I still think they are behind the chiefs because the chiefs are just better up front. The Bills have done nothing to change that this offseason. I view the Bills currently as in the same ballpark as the 90's packers. The packers just could not beat Dallas in the playoffs. They tried everything. Signed one of the greatest players in nfl history in reggie white and he got his azz kicked in two playoff games against Dallas. They just could not matchup because of Dallas talent up front on both sides of the ball. It completely disrupted their ability to play the game the way they wanted to. Green Bay finally got over the hump in 96 because Dallas was running on fumes and with irvin suspended and deion hurt Dallas lost to Carolina. To me as it stands today, the Bills need someone else to knock off KC and then they need to go win. I think its possible. Buffalo struggles with Cincy and JAX a little also but I think they would have a better shot today at Cincy, Jax, Baltimore than KC. Especially if the ravens decided to play like a passing first team the way they did last year vs KC in the championship game, that was just insane. The AFC is loaded. I just hope the Bills are actually healthy for once when the playoffs start, I believe they will be in them someway somehow.
