  1. So...a few follow up questions: a) If TT is desired by other teams, can the Bills get something for him in trade? b) Will another team offer TT more money than the current Bills contract option? c) If a and b, should the Bills pick up his option and then trade him? I'd think (hope?) we could get something for him in trade if he's not a fit for us??
  2. So lots of talk about should the Bills dump Taylor or not, and if we do who do we get to replace him (Romo, etc.) But I'm wondering what folks think would be a landing spot for TT if we did jettison him? Who would bid on his services? Would he be a starter or backup? What kind of salary would he command? What's the general consensus on the board?
  3. Bottom line: Bills under Rex are a mirror of what Cinci has become. We are the opposite of what Marv had always said: "don't play dumb, don't play dirty" Bills under Rex play both dumb and dirty. You may not be embarrassed by that kind of play, but I am. I'm frankly embarrassed to say I'm a bills fan right now. I never felt that way through all the SB losses, but I feel that way now with Rex. Coach with no class = team with no class Rex wants to build a bully team Ask the Cinci fans today how happy and proud they are of their bully team....
  4. Gee...let me think... Uh...leading the league in penalties?
  5. Would rather never be in the playoffs again, than be a classless, undisciplined group of thugs that are an embarrassment to the league and the city they represent. Wait...I just described the Bills under Rex.
  6. Lewis (like Rex) is 100% responsible. Burfict was out of control for most of the game. He needed to be benched. Do that, and a) it sends a message to others on the team (e.g. Pacman) that if you unable to control yourself then you will not have the privilege of playing and b) it would have most likely prevented the fiasco at the end of the game, and would have preserved a Cincinnati win. Bottom line: what you permit you promote Are you listening Rex?
  7. Rex is still a bum. No class. Too bad we will have to waste another year (and miss the playoffs again) before the Pegulas let him go.
  8. Contract reads thus: Bills make the playoffs, Harvin gets paid Bills don't make the playoffs, Harvin gets $0 Frankly, all of the bills contracts should be structured that way--no base, no bonus, no nothing -- just make the playoffs.
  9. Disappointing...very disappointing, and yet so predictable. And in 12 months we will be right back here...a poorly coached Rex team, tons of penalties, and "just missing" the playoffs for a 17th straight year. May as well pin the thread now--the discussion will be the same a year from now, the same flaws will be evident with Rex, and our only hope is at that point the Pegulas will have felt Rex got a fair chance and feel (finally) a change is in order.
  10. Anyone care to change their vote after the redskins game?
  11. Wasting another year on Rex is just that...a wasted year. I admit it's unlikely the bills will come to their senses and fire him now, but I guarantee we will be having this same discussion (and likely this sme same poll) next year...
  12. Interesting article. The fact that ESPN is raising the question proves that this discussion is timely, and pertinent. People outside of Buffalo realize that Rex is imploding, and yet we are likely stuck with him. Surprised that ESPN thinks Whaley May be more at risk.
  13. It'd be different if we hired someone with a proven record (say Bellichek). If he had a bad first year I'd cut him some slack. (Not that I'd ever want that cheater as a coach -- it was just an example...but I digress....) But Rex is a loser. Was with the Jets, and is with the Bills. That won't change...it'll just be another 2 years before we can try to move the team forward. Does ANYONE reading this thread think he will turn this around and be "Mr. Winning Coach" for the Bills? Frankly, I don't think the Pegulas believe it at this point either...
  14. Exactly! We all know how this is going to end. Rex won't produce, the Bills will continue to lose, and he'll be fired (eventually). The only question is how long we will all have to suffer before it happens. Isn't it better to just come to a decision now based on his track record and what we can all see is happening in Buffalo? Everyone is afraid of being Cleveland... I say if the Bills dump Rex and hire a better coaching staff we would get kudos from the league and players--they'd see that things are different in Buffalo, and at the Pegulas are not "business as usual"--they want to win. Keeping Rex sends the opposite message to the league--that we are just happy with mediocrity, and this is not a winning franchise. If you were a top free agent, wanting to get to the SuperBowl, which team would you rather play for?
  15. The penalties and undisciplined play say everything I need to know about Rex. Can Rex get better as a coach/game manager? Probably (certainly there is a lot of room for improvement) But--he won't change his (or his team's) lack of character. And without character we will never have a winning team. If you can see it now (and it's been evident throught Rex's past coaching stints) why wait another one (or two or three) years before releasing him? Time to move on...I've certainly seen enough....
  16. I've been over Rex for quite a while, given the lack of character of this team and the penalties. I think Whaley also has made some poor decisions. I'm ready to cut bait on both and start over...not sure who is out there now, or who might be available after the end of the season, but for me the team is definitely headed in the wrong direction. Anyone else ready to dump Rex and crew? Would love to hear opinions, and who else might be out there that could help. Just hate to see us squandering the talent that is on this team with a coach and GM that can't cut the mustard.
  17. Watched the 30-30 ESPN show last night and the difference in character between the two eras is striking. Comes directly from the head coach setting the tone IMHO (along with the GM). Right now, Bills are headed in the wrong direction. Pegulas need to make a move now--pretty apparent Rex and Whaley and crew are not the answer.
  18. Not a player but I'm done with Rex already. Bad coaching (3-4....really?) too many penalties, undisciplined team... He will be around for 2 years, will be a mediocre performer and we will be back where we always are--new coach, and "rebuilding". *sigh*
  19. Only contrasting the success of Levy "don't play dumb, don't play dirty" to Rex's "all dirty, all dumb, all the time" philosophy. Not sure how Coughlin even entered into the conversation. And agree with UDFA completely--refs are likely to pull the hankie without a second thought, and that's the real crime with Rex's philosophy...and that reputation may linger even after Rex is gone...
