  1. Thanks for the pledges so far. They're adding up nicely. If you're on the fence about donating, just try to keep in mind that Leukemia is out there killing little kids right now. Maybe even in your neighborhood. Of course, me and the rest of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society would love to stop it, but we can't do much if more people don't toss some big paper our way.
  2. This stinks. I really thought he'd be a good fit here. The Bills taking a WR in the first round just became A LOT more plausible to me.
  3. I'm going to think outside the box and say Kristin the Prostitute. She'll attract the youth vote, she's a woman, people are apparently into her signing, and she can help make up the difference in the U.S. budget.
  4. FYI, Lana, you're still on the hook about twisting AJ's arm and getting him to donate some big paper in this important thread. So put on some lipstick, bat your eyelashes, and make it happen. AJ cares about kids, right? Kids with cancer? He'd be an ass not to.....
  5. So does it really bother you that Tom "bashes" a person here that you are consistantly referring to as an "idiot" in your own posts? And, technically, he didn't "name" two. He referred to a "British doctor's thingy" that he clearly never read. That's sort of like "naming" one of the authors of the Federalist Papers as "what's-his-face from Virginia."
  6. The Great Bridge and John Adams were masterpieces (the former is my favorite of his). I also thought 1776 got way more hype than it deserved, relative to his other works. The Johnstown Flood book was very good as well. I'm expecting the miniseries to be very good at least and I'm in agreement with you that I'd like another 30 years worth of McCullough books.
  7. Alright, good news and bad news, people. The bad news is we just lost a year's worth of posts at TSW. The good news is you can still donate some money to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Every year in Seattle we have the Big Climb where participants run up the stairs of the state's tallest building, the Columbia Tower, to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I'm doing it this year and here's what you need to know: http://www.active.com/donate/2008bigclimb/robz
  8. Great episode. "AIDS? That's so...retro."
  9. But they can be entertaining. Last time I saw O'Reilly, he was trying to explain why Arianna Huffington and the people at her website are "just like the Nazis." Actually, I don't think he was trying to explain why, he just said it a couple times and pretended it made sense.
  10. Oh, that "British doctor's thingy." Nice to see Molson's ideas are as well-researched as ever.
  11. Other than the fact that he's a disgusting human being who doesn't care all that much about his family or that his first year as governor was a complete disaster.
  12. He was pursued because he was making suspicious money transfers and they thought he was involved in something worse. Sorry to burst your conspiracy bubble.
  13. But reading that the Red Cross bought ambulances for Hamas made you want to donate. Why is that?
  14. You support Hamas now?
  15. Not in the movies I watch. The bodycount in Robocop 2 was just about on par with Stalingrad.
  16. Damn! Well, there it is. I gave it my best shot but it looks like I lost the argument. There's nothing you can do when someone pulls out a gem like that.
  17. Whatever. Your whole argument is based on knowledge of what I'm watching on TV this week in comparison to what I watch on TV every week, and how often and for how long. There's a zero in ten chance you have any of that knowledge and yet you keep talking. You're equally qualified to comment on my eating habits or what color shirt I'm wearing today. But, please, keep going. I get a kick out of arguing with someone who has absolutely no facts to back up what they're saying.
  18. And apparently you're the only one "who can read and think" in this entire thread. So everyone is wrong about this but you? Riiiiiiiight.
  19. Yeah, because checking the front pages of a few different news websites on Wednesday and being disgusted at the giant pictures of this guy that they plastered on there is really "eating it up." I've definitely checked in for a minute or two at a time to see the friggin' abortion that is the coverage of this thing (which I have to if I'm going to continue participating in this thread) but overall I'd say I'm watching less TV news because they're only reporting on one story right now and they're not doing a good job anyway. But, please, I encourage you to convince yourself that I'm spending 4 hours a night watching this garbage.
  20. Uh, yeah, like I was saying..... . The ability to keep a straight face on SNL is his only talent. Anyway, here are some other Baldwin-isms from over the years. I forgot about him during the Cory Lidle plane crash last year.
  21. Actually, this is exactly the problem.
  22. I already said I don't need crime scene evidence all over the TV. But a picture of Lee Harvey Oswold in the window with the gun at least has some value in dispelling the ridiculous conspiracy theories. Cho's crap doesn't.
  23. That's probably as much as I've watched, and still more than I wanted. The public is the reason they pulled the video back. Like I said before, they didn't have a moral epiphany. People really didn't like seeing this lunatic having his day in the sun and, more than that, families were cancelling interviews. The public did cause them to stop. The amazing part is that it ever had to come to that.
  24. We both know you're smarter than that. Footage of someone that proves their guilt is one thing. Footage and pictures of the killer after the fact talking about how great he is for what he did and how great he looks with the guns he used to do it is another. We don't need to air Cho's sick crap to know he was guilty. There's still no explanation for why they did it. Even NBC News' explanation doesn't make sense. It's just some shlock about how important respecting the "victims and heroes" was to them and a brief reminder that everyone else did it too.
