  1. I'd be "appalled" if my dad told me to stay safe on campus on a day like yesterday too. And who didn't at least consider the possibility that it was terrorists when the report was that the shooter(s) had locked students in the buildings and opened fire?
  2. And I'm sure you wouldn't criticize President Bush if he decided to say nothing about yesterday's killings.
  3. You are only empowered if you let Don Imus wreck everything you've ever done in your life by calling you names.
  4. Buy American....or else you're playing God with students' lives!
  5. You mean we don't need Stojan to be our moral compass right now??
  6. Not true. The Bazooka Joe gum wrapper correctly identifies that there is gum inside the wrapper. So at least it's right about something. Prison Planet, on the other hand, has never been right about anything. Although I do appreciate their "Defend Rosie" banner....
  7. Sharpton's only regret is that the Asian kid wasn't targetting black people.
  8. And it begins...... CNN has begun showing bullet-point facts about Virginia's gun laws taken directly from stategunlaws.com (guess where they come out on the Second Amendment). You know, murder is illegal in this country already. So I'm thinking if Mr. Crazy College Kid has decided to murder 30 people, breaking one or two extra gun laws wasn't going to phase him.
  9. So every time there's a murder anywhere, even if it's a guy killing his girlfriend, we should lock down everything within a 5 mile radius just in case said murderer decides to wipe out a few dozen more people by locking them in a building and opening fire?? 25,000 students at VT, plus faculty, plus staff, and there's no way you can protect them all if this guy wants to go on a shooting spree. If they cancel classes, students are still packed into dorms. So, in summary: 1. There was no way of knowing one murder would lead to a shooting spree. 2. There's no way to protect everyone on a college campus if someone wants to go on a shooting spree. 3. WE BARELY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AT THIS POINT!
  10. That is 100% hindsight. Why do you evacuate tens of thousands of people because there was a murder two hours ago and the murderer apparently fled the scene? Especially when the initial shootings appeared to be caused by a love triangle or whatever. Based on the initial shootings, I don't think anyone would have anticipated what the killer had in mind for two hours later.
  11. Is there any chance that isn't going to happen?
  12. It took the AL longer to get all the way integrated, as the Red Sox were the last team to have a black player. (There's a famous story about a Red Sox scout seeing Willie Mays play and passing on him because he wasn't "Red Sox material." Supposedly the team was worried about having a black OF possibly outshine Ted Williams.) As for Doby, I'm pretty sure he played for the Indians in 1947, just weeks after Robinson played for Brooklyn for the first time.
  13. And that would be a great benefit to our society. Of course you're right, there are going to be loads of lawsuits.
  14. Sadly, you are absolutely right.
  15. Given the set-up, that was like you setting me up for a one-timer and me burying it in the back of the net. That's called teamwork.
  16. Hardcore reach? Was Marv in on this study?
  17. Fox News would be wonderful if only they weren't so incompetent and terrible.
  18. Fug. Maybe some of the "20+ wounded" didn't make it....
  19. Link? (Can't imagine they just found another 10 bodies at this point.)
  20. "I've always loved you."
  21. It took them years to publish a psychological profile of the Columbine killers. This story is going to be all over the place before the facts finally come out.
  22. No, I said I probably trusted him a little more than I trust the media but that's not saying much. Those old posts still exist, I looked at them over the weekend just to refresh my memory. Maybe you're just too dumb to work the "search" feature on this board. How on earth can't you find the threads that you started? I'm a conservative, so by definition I don't want the government to have more power. Accusing me of "trusting the government" all the time is truly laughable.
  23. I'm "straying from the point," but you're the one who keeps bringing up Teri Shiavo and Sean Hannity for some reason. It must suck not being able to organize your own thoughts when you post. Obviously no one ever taught you to read. I don't trust the government or the media. I don't see how anyone could miss that if they've ever read my posts. You questioning someone else's reading comprehension when you can't spell and your responses don't even make sense is wonderful irony.
  24. Unfortunately, all the people who take him seriously are busy working at Area 54 and don't have time to post because they're studying UFOs and Sean Hannity's hair. Also, Teri Shiavo is still alive there and that's why she's suddenly in this thread.
