  1. I was more moved by when they asked other students about the tape and they said how disappointed they were it was ever shown at all. Or when the families were cancelling interviews with NBC. But that's just me. And as mentioned previously, you didn't actually have to go out of your way to see the video. There were about 24 hours where the video, pictures, and quotes were everywhere and could not be avoided. They didn't "make this available," they made this guy the center of attention.
  2. I'll do that when I meet him at the playground after school to fight. "You're such a gay little loser, John. And nobody likes you!"
  3. I think we can forgive this mishap if we just take a minute to appreciate Alec Baldwin's important body of work as an actor. Oh, wait......
  4. With your head so far up your ass, it's a wonder you can see anything. But thanks for the compelling argument. Normally I'd expect you to be a complete douche and add nothing to a thread but this time you really surprised me.
  5. Happy birthday, man. Hook 'Em!
  6. Why? It benefits absolutely no one. If anything, it's inspiration for the next guy. It must have had some effect on the families of the victims if they were cancelling appearances on the Today Show today in response. And, honestly, if they made life harder for just one of the victim's families this week because they wanted to jack up their ratings, then it was the wrong thing to do. Hope the extra blood money in the bank account was worth it.
  7. But what he says is obviously so true and simple.
  8. Translation: Today is your lucky day. I spent all day at work where I really didn't have much time to post anything longer than a couple sentences. And when I did, I was much more interested in talking about the completely horrific response to the VT killings by the media than anything you have to say. To put it another way, your stupid nonsense just wasn't going to hold my attention compared to the stupid, vicious, greedy nonsense brought to you by NBC News, CNN, Fox News, etc. And even now that I'm home I really can't see myself taking the time to type out why you do not want the government "redistributing income" or redistributing wealth, or what have you. Read Tom's anecdotes about his government contracts. Or just take a look at how every government program to fight poverty has failed misearably. Or just look at how much money the government taxes and spends and compare that to what we really get back from them. Basically you're advocating giving the most power and the most money to the most inefficient company in the world.
  9. It's actually worse than that. They only stopped because they realized the vast majority of their audience really hated the decision. And, more importantly, they stopped because the grieving families were cancelling interviews because of it. In other words, they stopped because this was going to start hurting their bottom line. They didn't have an epiphany that what they were doing was horribly misguided. But, to hear them explain it, making these decisions was really "tough" on them. They've done the right thing all along and have only acted with all necessary concern for the "victims and heroes." And it's really important to recognize how brave our journalists are both for showing this crap in the first place and for (partially) pulling it off the air the next day. Journalists....the real heroes.
  10. Some people find this "illuminating."
  11. What am I afraid of? What don't I like about this? Alright, I guess I'll have to think about that one........oh, wait, that's right, I outlined that in the very first post to start the thread. Here, try reading it: The "troubling truth"? This sick !@#$ was so messed up, I don't think anything he has to say has anything to do with truth. He's insane. There's no truth to be had by airing his nonsense and certainly no value in doing so, unless you want your ratings to increase or to sell a few newspapers. But I'm glad you found his publicity media so "illuminating and explanatory." Seriously, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Meanwhile, families of the victims (hey, remember them?) were so upset by it that they were cancelling interviews this morning. But, really, who could have imagined that they wouldn't want to see pictures of this guy pointing a gun at the camera? Or video of him telling us how proud he is of what he's about to do? But, hell, who cares if this hurts everyone directly affected by the massacre? There's no time to worry about that when we can use this stuff to entertain some douche bag like you. While we're at it, we should petition the police to issue photos of the victims. We can't sweep the "truth" under the rug now can we? And there's nothing more "illuminating and explanatory" than seeing some 20 year old college girl with half her head missing right?
  12. I haven't paid any attention to Drudge in this whole thing, but every blog that has the pictures should have them down and never should have put them up in the first place. (And please don't tell me you were trying to turn this into a political thing just now, because that would be really pathetic.) Buffalonews.com still has the "Cho with a gun in each hand" picture on their front page as well. There's no excuse or explanation that works at this point.
  13. HBD and Semper Fi.
  14. This Just In: In my entire life, I've never heard a bigger load of bullsh1t. I really like their logic too. "Yes, we did this horrible thing, but we did it with sensitivity! And even though it looks like the exact opposite, just take our word for it that we have 'devoted efforts to remember and honor the victims and heroes.' Oh, and everyone else totally did it too so don't blame us." Ya think? Do you fvcking think so? I love these fancy statements about showing all this "restraint" a day too late where they're really just trying to explain away how every single human being in the world with 5 or more brain cells could tell you this was a bad idea, but there's no one in journalism who fits that description. Yeah, a real credit. A huge credit. You guys should be giving yourselves awards for this stuff. Good to know that !@#$ing up on such a grand scale was such a "tough call" for these people.
  15. No, I'm sure Ramius is just seconds away from whipping out the "right wing talking points."
  16. I would, but I don't even know where to start after reading your last couple posts.
  17. No, "wow" for finding out just a little more about how your brain works.
  18. They were still showing the video on CNN Headline News this morning, and presumably on other news channels as well. But it's OK, because they were using "sad reporter voice" when they introduced it. Of course they also used "sad reporter voice" to talk about the Don Imus Crisis last week so you know they really couldn't care less. And as of right now, the killer's homemade publicity photos are still on the front page of CNN.com, MSNBC.com, and ABCnews.com (which has a new version of the one where he's pointing the gun directly at the camera). Buffalonews.com also had one of the pictures front and center. I guess they figure they have to milk this for all it's worth for as long as they can because "opportunities" like this don't come along very often.
  19. You mean someone who isn't in journalism?
  20. Detailed description? Guess what, genius, the photos I described are on the front pages of websites I mentioned. CNN.com has had the picture of the killer pointing his gun at the camera on their front page since this afternoon and it's still there right now. Foxnews.com alternated between that one and the one where he's holding two guns. ABCnews.com and msnbc.com showed the same pictures, along with another he took where he's about to swing a hammer. The quotes? Those are also on those same front pages. You don't have to go out of your way to see this stuff. They're each bending over backwards to be the network of choice for your viewing pleasure when it comes to this sick !@#$. And all these pages have links to the video if you really need to see that (which obviously no one does or should want to). Even yahoo.com has it on their front page. I clicked CNN's just to see if they were really running unedited video from this guy and they were, so I closed it. If you want news on the shootings, or news on anything else in the world, the first thing you're going to see when you visit these websites is: here are the photos, here are the quotes, and here is the video. You can't avoid it. They're wrong for making it available in any case. They're extra wrong for shoving it in people's faces. Then do me a favor and don't tell me about my comments on something you didn't know existed until I told you.
  21. When I heard earlier today that the Virgnia Tech killer had mailed pictures and video to NBC News in between the two shooting incidents, I thought to myself "I really wonder what was in there but I know it'll never see the light of day and rightly so. They just can't show that." And I was relieved to know that I was right. After getting the package, NBC News recognized it as evidence and promptly turned it over to the authorities without airing whatever twisted videos and pictures that sick student wanted the world to see, or helping get out whatever awful message he was trying to send via mass murder. The last thing in the world the families of the victims need to see at a time like this are pictures of the killer brandishing guns, most likely the very guns he used in the shooting. Or video of the killer telling us that it was the fault of the victims that this happened. And of course, it would be completely irresponsible to reward sick freaks like this by giving them the exposure and attention they wanted all along by airing their homemade speechs and (for lack of a better term) publicity photos. So thank you for showing restraint and doing the right thing by not spreading this guy's garbage all over the TV and internet. Seriously, thank you. Just kidding! It took NBC News about 60 seconds to put Cho Seung-Hui's videos and pictures on the internet and Fox, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, etc. couldn't follow fast enough. Did you lose a loved one on Monday? Well, here's a picture of the killer pointing the gun he used to punch a hole in your loved one right at the camera! WOW!!! Want video? Turns out it was your college student's fault too! Want a picture of the killer with two guns? Hell, he's everything he sent us! We figure it's the least we could do after he gave us such a great story. After he went through all the trouble of making creepy home movies and publicity photos and killing over 30 people, it's only right that he gets a forum on national television and his half-commando, half-Angel of Death photos in every newspaper in the world. It's important for every sick, homicidal freak in the world to know that -- yes! -- you will be rewarded for killing people. You'll be more famous than you could possibly imagine. And whatever message you're trying to send, it'll get out there. No problem. I'm sure every mass media outlet weighed the effect this could have on the families and decided -- too bad! -- this stuff is way too good not to publish or put on the airwaves/internet. So congratulations, American journalists, you've proven again that you are some of the very worst people in the world. Not only have you shown a complete lack of judgement and empathy, but you've sent a clear message that you are willing to provide every sick, violent person in the world with a forum if they just give you a big enough story to tell. *Wink wink* I'd love to say I'm surprised but I think it's safe to say these stories stop being about the victims just as soon as the cameras are on.
  22. They have a lot of spare time.
  23. I am the Hands of God. Society's ills shall be no more. The time of cleansing is upon us. Happy Mother's Day.
  24. Smoking Gun has a copy of one of the English Major's stories. It is, predictably, insane. Link
