They don’t care. It isn’t about right and wrong to cultists and morons. Trump makes them feel good. They don’t own stocks or work for the government ( or at small). -
That's funny! I prefer the term thick pecs. It happens.

the best scenario is to be dominant but respected and admired. The US is neither of those things in the eyes of our past allies.
-
Canada has no say? I suspect they could easily find allies to help fend off an imperialist attack by the US. To suggest invasion is just ignorant. where are we getting aluminum? you supposedly teach. A noble profession but one without much autonomy. Even parents are your bosses I was the founding partner of my practice. I can assure you I was the most dominant there.
-
BS. where are we going to get Aluminum from? China? Mexico? The US imports aluminum from Canada ($11.22 billion), China ($2.74 billion), and Mexico ($1.95 billion) while the top Aluminum Importers and Buyers in the US include Dubal America Inc You seem almost gleeful at the thought of dominating our neighbors. f'in immoral fascist. an actuary might estimate his longevity as only a couple years. One can hope. And there are plenty of brave, decent Americans left. Just very few on the right.

top read piece in WSJ today. From an analyst at a conservative think tank, this is disturbing “On Friday, I would have said I thought the administration was worried about their policies really slowing down the economy, and they were trying to lay the groundwork for the narrative that they inherited a weakening economy,” said Michael Strain, head of economic-policy studies at the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute. More recent comments seem to have gone beyond that. “Now, there’s almost a sense that if something goes wrong in the economy, then that’s fine,” said Perkins. “That’s making people quite nervous because if you get to the point where you are pushing the economy into a recession, there is no guarantee that that’s just going to pass quickly.”

on the bright side, we're still traveling. Less crowded flights are good. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/11/airline-ceo-domestic-travel-demand.html Might have been good to tell the rubes what they were getting into before the election, don't ya think? Instead, he played the part of the wizard of oz. they'll figure it out in a few months.

Still see the hawk. My dogs bark at it when it circles above. Beautiful bird. A kestrel has now taken up residence. Reportedly ferocious but also preyed on by other bird predators. Perhaps I’ll change my name again. -

Maybe among your crowd...but we really don't care about them. Neither does trump, actually. -

it's all for amusement, dummy. We're not going to change policy here. We could possibly influence some neutral readers but there aren't any that post here. So which of these activities is he accused of? I don't believe that has been made public. please link if you are aware. At any rate, he's being flown back to NY from Louisiana for a hearing soon. More to come. If it was settled law, there wouldn't be a hearing. -

the first amendment (freedom of speech, freedom of religion)). There's a palestinian in jail for speaking out against Israel. https://www.yahoo.com/news/ny-student-protester-held-immigration-152740592.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall New York Civil Liberties Union President Donna Lieberman called his deportation "targeted retaliation and an extreme attack on the First Amendment." As a permanent resident (Green Card holder), you have the right to: Live permanently in the United States provided you do not commit any actions that would make you removable under immigration law Work in the United States at any legal work of your qualification and choosing. (Please note that some jobs will be limited to U.S. citizens for security reasons) Be protected by all laws of the United States, your state of residence and local jurisdictions -
I sure hope not. While beautiful and friendly, consumer goods are in very short supply, mostly due to embargoes and isolationism. After the revolution, they did look for help. The US didn't offer any. The Soviets did, in a very big way and had huge influence. When Gorbachev dissolved the Soviet Union, they lost most of the support. And have struggled mightily since. Isolationism is crushing them but it's largely not self imposed. In our case, it is.

WSJ has a nice piece on consumer sentiment. It's paywalled. basically says low and middle earners are maxed out on credit cards and will likely be forced to slow buying. Higher earners are concerned about a coming recession and falling stock market...and will likely decrease spending. Not a good combo.
