  1. I accept what you are saying. But an athlete and a sportsman aren't quite the same thing. I don't doubt his physical and athletic attributes. But talent is another thing. If you can take a guy whose previous sporting job is simply to run fast past men half his size at the lowest sporting level - and turn him into an NFL tackle ... then that coaching team are geniuses. I mean, I hope to be proven wrong. But I'd be worried if this lad was selected for my local rugby team. Let alone my favourite NFL franchise. But, yes, I agree he's an athlete. I'm not just sure that's the same thing as a sportsman - in my definition of the term. Looks like he's turned his hand at a few and not made the grade. Mad if he eventually makes it probably the most elite sport in the world.
  2. In terms of rugby positions … there are very few similarities in the two games skill wise In terms of OT, absolutely zero. At best a front row. But it’s just not comparable. Matt Milano has skills that might make him a good player at centre or flanker in rugby. But it doesn’t really work both ways. And hardly at all on offense. For the record, the guy Rees Zammit who KC got. He plays the same position as this lad. It could potentially be transferred to half back or wide receiver. But probably not. But zammit was an excellent international pro. One of the best in the game. This boy played for a pub team. It’s too much to call him a rugby player. I work with a boy who plays at a higher level than this lad on the weekends He’s just big. But he’s not a sportsman. if he IS … then this is the greatest spot in history. ignore this quote bit below. Messed up my post on my phone and can’t change it
  3. Not even pro. He couldn't make it at as an amatuer He's describe here as a gentle giant. Which means he's a softie. A fact further corroborated by him playing on the wing - historically (with a few exceptions) where you put the most delicate player. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/articles/cne9jmlremeo He's a bust. I don't even know how he even got onto the draft? Did he win a competition or something?
  4. He's being called a 'rugby player'. But he plays in the eigth tier of English rugby. I. can't even tell you how far down that is. It's barely pub level. My old club plays 8th tier. He's also a winger in rugby. Which means his attribute is pace and he's too much of a pansy to get involved with the rough stuff. It's weirdest pick I've ever seen. 7th round or otherwise. I presume there are political reasons behind it. If he's a Tackle, I'm Napoleon. But it's a laugh, I suppose.
  5. I really enjoyed reading the OP. I differ a little in that I think the future health of franchise comes first. Our superbowl-ready team failed to reach the superbowl three times. Now we are in transition again. That's annoying but it's the fact. Josh is going to have to work with what he's got (though he'll get one more WR i'm sure). I get why we'd want to back him more this year - we are so desperate for that SB - but I can see why were not doing it too. ***** or bust strategies aren't everyone's idea of fun. Prime Josh Allen has a harder job to do this year, hopefully he's even more prime than we ever knew.
  6. The more I think about this the happier I am. If we can make regular 20 yard plays in the air and in the red zone, and regular 8 yard plays on the ground, and defend the way we usually do, we are going to be a handful for any team. We will wear sides down instead of depending on the superman stuff. Plus, Josh has his cannon if he needs it It's been great fun watching our harum scarum stuff the last few years. But strong, safe hands could really be a game changer for Buffalo. Probably suits playoff weather too.
  7. He looks so archetypally a number two, makes me wonder if we are going to trade for the number one WR.
  8. Hard to imagine he'd have gone if we'd traded down again. But what do I know. I presume Josh has had a say in this one.
  9. I reall think Brady is just right for Josh. Being superman is something to keep in reserve. It can’t be depended on. 15 yard TDs are fine. Preferable even. Although I will miss the ride a bit. The entertainment was off the scale before
  10. Nobody ever talked about Big Game Diggs did they When it really mattered, postseasons, it was other receivers that stepped up. First Davis, then Shakir.
  11. It’s humiliating for Diggs really. That trade makes him look like a bum.
