Most people on the thread don’t know this, but this is based off a true story. It’s actually a cute and true story of 4 elderly Patriot/Brady fans who went on that road trip for real in 2017. I’m actually friends and work with the granddaughter of one of the original 4 women, of which the story is based on. As for the movie, I don’t know, but definitely based on true story.

Most players play banged up. Josh hasn’t been throwing his normal this year, it’s obvious. He’s still elite playing injured. He also needs people around him who can catch. He’s gotta play through right now. Doesn’t seem mortal injury and can rest thoroughly in the off-season. For sure, next 2 draft classes should be heavy offense, including and especially the line.

Updated Beasley signing to practice squad
Aurelius replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s a solid signing at this point in the year. Josh has a comfort level with him and he gets open in the slot. He wasn’t successful at Tampa, but I think that’s just because new system, QB etc. We are hurting for production out of the slot and I can see him making some big plays and bailing Josh out a. It down the stretch. -
I think we all hung out hats on Gabe Davis having his breakout WR2 year and he hasn’t come close to it. Injuries and some mid round rookies have also hampered us. It’s clear we need to grab a WR2 high in the draft somewhere as well as address offensive line issues that are allowing too much to get through to Josh Allen.

Defense has bailed us out. Need a true WR2 and some young talent and free agents to address offensive line issues. Glad we escaped.

Chiefs at Bengals Game thread - 4:25 PM Kickoff

Frankly it really stumped Mahomes. Hard time finding a target. -
Josh is actually a smart runner and doesn’t take all that much damage when he’s out of the pocket overall. I worry more about those blind-side sacks in the pocket etc. Josh is actually not a knucklehead when he runs, even when he initiates contact. He’s got a good sense of where defenders are coming from and it’s what makes him a weapon. I think yesterday we did a nice job of running the ball with our backfield much more, which to me is more of a key to keeping Josh Allen healthy. Need to run the ball to keep heat off josh and really sell Play action stuff. Other than that, let him run if he has to. He’s already passed Michael Vick’s rushing yardage at 5 years I believe which is an accomplishment. His ability in this area is what makes him unique.

James Cook looking great. Looking a lot more “workhorse” than people thought. Tough, explosive. -

Gonna need to rebuild this line a bit in the off-season. -

Gonna be a rough game as Quessenberry looks like a statue and also looks injured out there. -

We need to rebuild some of this offensive line. Josh needs more time and runners need more space. -
Dare I say this, but I am jealous of the Jets defense. I love their speed and aggression and how they defend. I don’t love Frasier’s defensive style and we let up waaaay too many yards. We don’t blitz at all. I know we have significant defensive backfield injuries, but it’s not the only problem.

I hate Hochenson. We need a second TE like that who can catch. -

LFG. Benford has been a beast. Now Josh Allen takes over. -
His acceleration is disgusting though, which is where he beats you.

Totally wrong.

I don’t agree with that at all. I think they’re bringing him along more slowly because we have the luxury of doing so, and not beating the brakes off him as a first half-season rookie. He had a nice game last game and has a ton of tools. Let’s remember, most teams run their running backs into the ground in first few seasons. We don’t have to do that. Give motor his runs. Bring an experienced speedster and pass catcher in. Bring along rookie slowly. I don’t believe for a second that anybody is down on Cook. They were down on Moss because he wasn’t helping us. Baby steps for Cook.

We Trojan Horsed that one with the 6th. 🤣
-
In addition he has even lined out at outside WR and caught TD’s in that role. Ability to send him out and create mismatches with his speed and RAC will be helpful for Josh.
-
I love the “Cook is not built to be a RB1” comments as well. He’s 5’11 195lbs as a rookie. Yes some of the NFL lead backs are 10-20 lbs heavier but James’ brother Dalvin makes a pretty good lead back and is an inch shorter as are plenty of RB’s along the same lines. Cook will be a big part of our offense moving forward. We now have plenty of speed in the backfield.
-
It wasn’t a direct McCaffery comparison. It was just a similar Swiss-army type back we were looking for. I think he provides a lot of extra speed and value for us. Can move to receiver slots, return kicks etc. Hard to guard us when we have speed abs receiving options out of the backfield and it has been clear from day 1 that the staff wanted 2 backs on the roster with speed and receiving ability, which we now have with Cook and Hines. Can give us more versatility overall.
-
I think people are wrong on this who aren’t excited about this pickup. This is a sneaky great signing. Moss wasn’t doing anything for us. We gave up almost nothing but landed a faster McCaffery-type who is a speed demon and durable back who can catch, return kicks and the like. He and Cook sharing backfield duties will be unstoppable in the open field. Minor cap hit but we probably won’t resign motor so it will be a wash. Only reason people don’t think it’s amazing is because he’s been hidden behind Johnathan Taylor last few years. His potential in our offense is fantastic. It’s really just a swap for Moss and a late round pick.
