    Wall of Fame - Yes

Buffalo Sport Hall and likley "AFL" Hall of Fame - Yes

NFL Hall - a stretch at best, most voters just don't know - all-time Bills pick leader with 40, punt returner as well, plus 2 AFL rings, just not enuff apparently, there was a push for AFL guys for the hall but that is over, so not likely...

    highlights:

In 1964 Butch was selected in the AFL college draft by the Buffalo Bills and he made an immediate impact on the defensive side of the ball as a cornerback. Early in his rookie season, he ran back his first professional interception 72 yards for a touchdown; that wouldn’t be the last as he would later become the Bills’ all-time leader in interceptions with 40, returning five for touchdowns; he was seemingly always in the right place at the right time. Butch was a valuable member of the two AFL championship Buffalo Bills teams of 1964 and 1965 and was selected to five All-AFL teams.

Butch was also an exceptional punt returner, and continues to rank among the Bills all-time leaders. In the 1966 AFL Championship Game, he returned a punt 74 yards for a touchdown and established championship game records for punt returns and punt return yards.

Moreover, he played in every game as a member of the Bills during his tenure in Buffalo, starting 101 consecutive games.

The punt return for a touchdown came in the 1965 AFL championship game, our 2nd title game against the Chargers. He also had an interception in that game. He was amazing and very deserving of more accolades.

You’re right. No gives af if a team was injured during an important game. Only results matter.

The Bengals, as you noted, beat up on us with a decimated OL. Then the following week got beat by a team with a hobbled qb and decimated wr corp. But no one remembers that about KC. I guess that’s why players don’t use injuries as excuses. They get the job done with who’s available or they don’t. Us fans on the other hand…

Lest we forget how the refs played a major role in both KC's win over Cincy and Philly.

Or how we was basically playing for most of the regular season on a bum leg because he was the only WR we had who could block. Crowder and Kumerow going down for the year early really sucked for our depth and forcing us to trot out players that were not 100%.

It's also odd that we talk about what kind of bum Davis is when he basically had a great year statistically for yards and TDs last year and his catch rate didn't drastically go up or down either, its pretty in line with previous years because he's mostly used as an X receiver who runs deep so you're gonna see more drops/throwaways.

Yes, I forgot about the injury. You are correct.

Roster is much better than last years.  I just worry about a Diggs injury, but if that happened perhaps we still have enough out there in our RB and backup WRs.

Our roster last year was awesome. If not for all the injuries and other unfortunate incidents I believe we would have been the team to beat. If this roster is better and remains healthy, watch out! Go Bills!!

People arguing that Kelly and Thomas were better are just comical. They weren’t even the best at their positions at the time. Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith were both better than Thomas. And that’s not even considering Eric Dickerson, Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen.

Kelly wasn’t as good as Marino, Elway, Moon, Young, Cunningham,  Montana.

Kelly was 11-7 against Marino in the regular season and 3-0 against him in the playoffs! And I think he was definitely better than Moon and Cunningham.

This blows my mind, but I think it's fake.

Pack will be a last place team. Would be almost comical.

I agree. The Pack will be one of the top 5 drafting teams next year. If they need to they will package their pick with the one they got from the Jests and take their QB.

  7. I am not a fan of the Lion's draft at all. I am a long time Bills fan and season ticket holder for 20 years, now living in Alabama.  Been here since 1996. Watch all the Bama games and a ton of SEC games in general. Was disappointed in Will Anderson's 2022 season. Thought he played much better the previous year. Early on he was in the conversation for possible consideration for the Heisman as a defensive player, but that dried up as the season progressed. It will be interesting to see how this projects to the pro level. Thought the Colts did well except for Richardson. People keep comparing his situation to Josh Allen's, however Josh had no talent around him at Wyoming.  Richardson was surrounded by talent at Florida, but could do nothing with it. Thought the Steelers draft went well also. All in all it seemed like a relatively weak draft class which makes it harder to gauge. When all is said and done,  Go Bills!!

From ESPN Bill Barnwell trade grade article:

In addition, the deal doesn't appear to offer retirement protections for the Jets. This is an oversimplification, but the Jets very conceivably might be paying a second-round pick (in 2023), a first-round pick (in 2024) and $59.5 million in exchange for one year of Aaron Rodgers.

    That is a lot.

The Jets have a good roster. But it's not that good that they should make this kind of investment in what might be a one-year gamble.

Trading for Rodgers was a fine plan. But the Jets gave up too much.

    Jets' grade: C

    Packers' grade: A-

    I agree completely with that.

As I stated earlier I believe the Jets gave up way too much. Short sighted on their part.

  9. I think the Jets gave up way too much for Rodgers. Would not be surprised that the Packers could be thinking about next years draft. They probably won’t do very well next year, but anything is possible. However they could package both firsts next year to move up for one of the top qb’s. It’s supposed to be a great qb class. I know this is way premature and somewhat crazy speculation, but it would be a long term strategy versus the Jets that will be lucky to get two years out of Rodgers.
