Jalen Carter is Marcel Dareus v 2.0.

Anthony Richardson:  95% athlete, 5% football player.  He'd benefit sitting for 2023-2024 and learning the game but some team will make the mistake and try to play him immediately and he'll fare poorly.

I agree 100% on Richardson. Some team will overdraft him and be incredibly disappointed.

There are multiple ways to win a Superbowl.  And there are multiple ways to improve a team.  For a lot of us we would like to see another quality WR.

Brady was a high value QB and he had M Evans/C Godwin/A Brown and Gronk.  Stafford had C Kupp and R Woods.

And the amount spent on J Allen/Diggs and good WR to be named later will not be $80M (even if that WR is DHop).

However check out the wide receivers Brady had in New England. Outside of Moss and maybe Edelman he won a bunch of Super Bowls with very average wideouts. He had Gronk at TE, but not much in wr’s.

Mahomes wasn’t a can’t miss prospect like luck and KC got laughed at for trading up. Imagine how that looks now. The bills should have gotten 5 1st rounds pick at least.

the panthers have a pretty solid team. They have a sneaky good defense and before he went wirh all retread qbs, reich was one of the better qb coaches in the league.  They can draft a guy and put him in an Allen type situation where he doesn’t have to carry the team and grow. I like this move for them and love it for the bears.

Can say the same for a few qb's, however there are more JaMarcus Russells, Brady Quinns, David Carrs, Ryan Leafs, Harringtons, etc.  You just never know, especially how quickly they can process what is happening on the field. I wish Reich the best of luck as I think he is a very good head coach. The success of the trade is strictly based on how well all the draft picks perform in the pros. As always, time will tell.

  4. It’s an odd trade. Based on what I’ve read the Panthers like a few of the quarterbacks and are not focused on just one. It’s not like there is an Andrew Luck or Elway out there where everyone sees them as a can’t miss prospect, head and shoulders above everyone else. Reich got tired of coaching without a reliable qb. Hope they pick the right guy. At the combine I was impressed with Levis from Kentucky. Nice compact throwing motion and a strong arm. We’ll see.

I'm sure Lamar knows that some team will give him something like 50M per, fully guaranteed, 6-7 year contract.

Easy for us to say that's crazy, given we have Josh Allen, but I'm sure quite a few would pay whatever it takes to someone like Lamar Jackson when we were wandering in the QB wilderness after Jim Kelly.

Let's hope the Jets are that team.  Kill their cap and deplete their picks... Woody Johnson said he'd do whatever it takes to bring in a top tier QB, didn't he?   Lamar, debatable, but most would say he's that.

I agree. Some desperate franchise with an owner with more money than sense will pay him. Could be the Jets, the Raiders, Saints, Bucs. Who knows. He would receive better marketing if he had an agent for sure.

  6. After both the AFC championship game and the Super Bowl, the Chiefs will be roasted all off season as receiving favoritism from the officials. They don’t care as they won the Super Bowl, but Philly and Cinci fans will make a ton of noise, and those are heavily populated cities. Can’t say I blame them. Also has anyone noticed that in each close playoff game with a late fourth quarter kickoff that they have all been squib kicks?

Can’t take anything away from Tom has done from pick 199 to being in 10 Super Bowls just incredible…now we will have the pleasure of watching his expertise on our tvs every week for the next 10 freaking years 🙄

Like one of the talking heads said last year, they are paying a person $100 million to announce games who has never said anything interesting in his life.
