It seems like I’ve seen Dodson with his back to the play multiple times and I’m screaming at my tv “Turn Around!”. He appears to have played better lately, but I do like what I am seeing in Dorian Williams. He’s making some mistakes, but man does he hustle.

I think a lot of this game will depend on contributions from individuals that we saw make plays in the Jets game. Depends how Allen and Brady utilize them. Kincaid, Shakir, Ty Johnson all having a supporting role would help keep the Eagles defense off balance and guessing. The Eagles are not going to ignore Diggs and Davis (even though he hasn’t done much lately).

We will most certainly find out, and the rest of the AFC is going to sit up and take notice if we win at least 2 of the next 3 games. Right now I'm happy about the win, but in a "we'll see" mode once teams adjust to our new Brady-led offense
Stating the obvious, but these next three games are critical. I sure wish our defense was fully healthy. Go Bills!!!🏈🍻

I’m not going to go down the conspiracy rabbit hole, but with all the money being bet on NFL games, the League HAS to do something to reduce the influence the officials have on game outcomes. Obviously, it will never be reduced to zero, but there has to be a way to at least reduce their influence. Here are my thoughts but very interested if anyone has a thought on this.
Defensive PI. Move from spot foul to 15 yards. If “flagrant” PI becomes an issue, tinker with the rule the following year.
Illegal contact. Increase area for contact from 5 to 10 yards. Eliminate ticky tack fouls. Contact has to be substantial and reduce receiver’s ability to contest for a catch. The call on the Eagles last night in the second half gifting the Chiefs a first down was a travesty.
Defensive holding. Again, eliminate ticky tack foul. Holding has to reduce receiver’s ability to contest for a catch.
Offensive holding. At least be consistent.
Sick of refs determining outcomes. Thoughts?
Agree 100%👍

The game against the Broncos last week was the first one the Bills have lost at home all year.
Last year they lost only one regular season game at home.
There are lots of things we can say about the current Buffalo Bills and their shortcomings, but they generally still have a good home field advantage, and they have a very good record at home the past two seasons.I understand but we lost a home playoff game last year and we barely beat the Giants and Bucs. We don’t put teams away at home like we used to.

What has happened to our “home field” advantage? This used to be a very tough place for opposing teams to come in and pull off a victory. For the last two plus seasons it does not seem like an advantage. Is that on McDermott? Where is the pride of defending our turf? Trying to determine the cause.
-
I highly doubt that we will see a drastic change with our offense. It’s not like we’ve had all offseason to work with Brady’s system. The question will be can small changes make a difference this season? We will see.

McDermott was fired by Andy Reid because he constantly failed to adjust when his schemes weren’t working. Seems like he never learned from it.

That felt like a prime drought area loss right there.
And to be honest, so is my reaction.
How high do we have to draft to get a true #1 wr this year?
It’s not the lack of talent on this team that is causing these losses. When a team continues making the same mistakes week in and week out that falls directly on the head coach. They no longer believe in McDermott and he has lost this locker room.

When a team continues to make the same mistakes week in and week out that falls directly on the coaching. A coach is there to serve and direct his players. When that is properly done the players fall in line and back their coach because the ultimate goal is winning games. This is not a lack of talent, it is purely a lack of effective and accountable coaching.
-
McDermott never has the team prepared. He has lost the team. We should be unbeatable at home. Wasting a ton of talent. We have no home field advantage and we always did in the past, even with mediocre teams.

I understand that it’s part of the CBA but that it was called at all, along with the intentional grounding and no calls on the trip/kick on Kincaid and on the facemask on Davis is total garbage. I’m not a conspiracy guy at all, but it sure seems like the Bills, along with some other teams get shafted by the league way more often than some of “their” favorites. I know it sounds like a homer attitude, but it happens way too often to go unnoticed. I also can’t believe that the officiating crews aren’t called on the carpet more often and disciplined by the league, especially in such a large money making endeavor. The inconsistency from game-to-game, team-to-team is frustratingly insane.

The same post-game clichés aren't going to cut it anymore. There haven't been any answers coming from this coaching staff, and the people who know football are taking notice and calling this absurdity out. The definition of "insanity", many have said, is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.
We love this team. We deserve better. What I would really love to know is whether this is a case of McDermott blindly continuing to support "his guy" or if McDermott, himself, is the one who is dictating the style of offense in an attempt to prop up his faltering (yes- also injury ravaged) defense.
Remember McDermott was fired by Andy Reid in Philly, and from I have read the Philadelphia media and fans were happy to see him go. Their biggest complaint was that he failed to make in game adjustments and was too stubborn.

Didn't see a thread on this. How could they call that? The ref purposefully called a terrible non-challengeable penalty.
It's one thing to miss/not throw a flag on something. Like the tripping -even though it was on the person with the ball. You can somewhat think they didn't see it or think from their vantage point it wasn't a penalty.
But Intentional Grounding - that really annoyed me. Where did they see "imminent loss of yardage because of pressure". The ref should never have made that call. Josh wasn't throwing that ball because of pressure. It was a terrible subjective call.
And with the broadcast you see the replay of the non-called tripping, followed up with the inexplicable bogus intentional grounding call was a double whammy. The broadcasters saw the tripping and said a little something and kind of movedon/went silent. Then the Intentional grounding and at least Collinsworth was like "what?". Then the rules dork tried to make like it was definitely by the rules correct. But the rule dork clearly left out the whole under duress element of call, dork.
It was very frustrating.
Don’t forget the facemask on Stef as he was running into the end zone trying to catch a pass.

We cannot constantly lose the turnover battles and expect to win games.

Someone posted earlier that they were a Tampa fan and that Fornette was not very good in pass protection.

Yep. And it really isn’t all that close.
Nope, that would be Robert James. 1st team All Pro in both 1973 and 1974 seasons.
I still go with Butch Byrd, however I loved watching Robert James. One thing no one has mentioned yet is that James made his mark and earned his role initially as a great special teams gunner.

Has been a good game closer. 6 interceptions in the 4th quarter and in OT since 2021.

Douglas needs to learn our defense, but he will be a big contributor.

🤣 Obviously desperate!

The last defensive back we picked up from the Packers turned out pretty good. Keep that string alive.

Wonder if they wish they had kept Trey Lance?
-
It’s a shame how often Adams beats the coverage and Garropolo fails to get him the ball.
-
Robert James was amazing, unfortunately shortened career due to injury. Based on a full career none come close to Butch Byrd. He had 40 career interceptions, was a tremendous punt returner, and basically won one of our AFL championships against the Chargers by returning a punt for a touchdown and intercepting John Hadl to seal the victory. I know that was a long time ago, but he was the best!

Not only was it a horse collar but every time I’ve seen a QB slung to the ground it is an unnecessary roughness penalty. It’s gotten to the point that you don’t even want to watch NFL games anymore. I would not be surprised that this is the thinking in many cities and hopefully the ratings begin dropping due to the atrocious officiating.
