  1. Scheme wise, I see little difference between Frazier and McD’s defense.
  2. Allen is 9 for 9 with 51 yards. Looking good.
  3. That 1 yard Knox reception was what was “open” last week. Its useless.
  4. Tre, Poyer and Hyde really do look past their prime. Slow reflexes.
  5. Yeah. He made a comment this offseason about how he would stay up nights stressing about how he could make plays in a zone defense. And I think mentally he gets in his own head. This quote is telling: "Last year, I’m coming in with all these high expectations. Not only from the media and the outsiders, but myself as well. If I saw somebody make a play, I wanted to make two, three of them. And if the results didn’t come, then I already added more pressure to myself. If I F-ed up, I felt like I’m letting people down. I’m letting the G.M., the head coach, I’m letting myself down, I’m letting my family down... First 3-4 weeks of training camp I was very consistent. Making a lot of plays on the ball. I feel like that first preseason, I got that holding call that I was in great position. I don’t think I should have even touched the receiver." - Elam
  6. Good memory. I think the strong value that culture plays on this administration was really drawn to Elam's sales tactic of bringing his notebook to the combine and he drove it home with that playbook on the plane comment.
  7. Go Bills! 1-1 after today. Allen regains form and throws 4 TD. No picks.
  8. The worst part in my opinion is that the Chiefs jumped in front of us to pick Trent McDuffie. Who looks like an absolute stud. GunnerBill and I have debated whether the Bills would have taken McDuffie had the Chiefs not jumped us, but regardless, it’s a bad look. So, either: 1) Beane wanted McDuffie but let the Chiefs outmaneuver him. or 2) Beane had Elam in front of McDuffie on the draft board, which is probably even worse.
  9. Yeah, I think it’s obvious that Elam is a bust as far as this team is considered. Maybe he can resurrect his career with a team that runs more man.
  10. Here is where I got them. Apologies if they are incorrect.
  11. This video really puts "open" into perspective. Many of us are commenting that Allen had open receivers to throw to on Monday night, but NONE were open to the extent that this video shows. Compared to this video, every one of our receivers were blanketed. If the video could encapsulated in one word it would be: Speed. Speed kills defenses. .
  12. Just FYI - Knox and Kincaid were both timed between 4.65 and 4.7. Fine for a Tight End, but certainly not clear-out quickness. I agree with you, but I think it is a bit of both. Here is an example of what I was mentioning earlier. See this mess of 3 defenders on the Orange and Green routes? This happened because: 1) The orange route didn't get vertical enough, quickly enough, which put no pressure on the safety to cover the endzone, resulting in the safety coming down and being able to be a third defender. 2) If you look at Allen, he is about to get smacked by a Jets defender. So we have a situation where Allen has to get rid of the ball, but the clear out receiver has cleared nothing out. He actually did the opposite - he made it a mess, and this is what ensures. It's amazing this actually turned out okay. By the time the ball gets to the receiver, there are 4 defenders there. If you don't make a team defend every part of the field, they won't. And that results in a densely populated field to operate your offense.
  13. One thing I noticed rewatching the game is that even though our o-line played okay, it still wasn’t enough time for our clear-out receivers to keep the Jets defense honest. Part of this is because we simply do not have very fast receivers. Gabe, Diggs and Sherfield all run around a 4.5. Kincaid around 4.7. The longer it takes for the clear out receiver to get vertical, the longer the line has to hold. If the clear out doesn’t get deep enough, he doesn’t make the safety (or zone CB) hesitate or gravitate toward him, and you get what we got on Monday night. Felt like defenders were everywhere because spacing was thrown off. It feels like we either need to get some faster receivers who can get vertical quicker, or we need a line that can hold even longer.
  14. Yes, but by the same point in Reid’s career that McD is in now, he had made it to 4 conference championship games and a Super Bowl. Personally, I would be a bit less concerned of McDermott’s ability to be championship caliber if he had brought us to 4 conference championships and a Super Bowl by now.
  15. Kincaid played well and did things that don't show up on the stat sheet. For example, look at this monster block I found while watching the ALL-22.
  16. Flowers looks scary good. Extremely fast like Tyreek Hill but can cut on a dime.
  17. Just FYI. McKenzie had a drop % greater than 30% in a quarter of the games he played last season. He was also 44% on the season for contested catches.
  18. The only portion of this situation that concerns me is the possibility that Diggs allows his brother to mess with his mind and/or attitude. Diggs brother clearly wants him out of Buffalo.
  19. Love the train idea. I’ll leave feasibility to others. Seattle relies on train transportation for their stadium.
  20. It’s truly incredible. First time i’ve seen a WR like that since Moss. And it was our draft pick!
  21. Jefferson is unstoppable.
  22. Allen is about 74% dawg. If not more.
  23. You mean this is not preferred? 😂
  24. Here is an example of what I mentioned above. This is a recipe for disaster:
