It's not just the yearly cap, it's the 5 year term. Locking in to a guy whose at best above average is crazy to me. I get a 2 year deal for high money but more is insane to me. I am blown away that they did this.

I dont know why but I want Deone to make it more than anyone else. Always loved giant, game-wrecking DTs like Wilfork and Washington. I know his chances aren't great, his build isn't ideal, back problems for a big guy are a bad sign. But this monster becoming a force could change our defensive identity.

If some rooks are immediately good I agree. If they're just depth probably not true.

More than any year before I am interested in the preseason. We need a couple draft picks to hit. We could really use one or more to be better than just good. Any one of our 1st four picks end up having ROY type season it could really change our defense. Isn't that all normal show biz stuff?
