  1. As others said, yesterday's defense was very similar to what we saw under Fraiser, which begs the question why it cropped up again under a different DC. Also, I would hope that McDermott, as a defensive head coach, would step in and make adjustments if Babich seemed unable to, which he seemingly was yesterday. Either he decided to let Babich continue with the same approach, or he tried to intervene without making any discernable changes. Either is concerning.
  2. That's true but defense had continuous issues throughout the game without adjustment on or off the field. Specials Team had an error by Ferguson (and maybe Martin was a touch on a slow side). The usual approach is a poor series at the start of the game and then they tighten up but yesterday was just the same thing over and over again. It's not like we haven't seen it before - even this series, it happened in Baltimore but was dismissed because of injuries coupled with the offense also having issues. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. He isn't perfect but Brady seems to have realised different games need different approaches, such as abandoning the run game yesterday. McDermott, Babich, Smiley? I'm not so sure.
  3. I forgot to check the Inactives list before the start of the game. Last time I did that... Houston.
  4. Are we trying to say that if the punt hadn't been blocked, then the defense would have magically found a solution and stopped Stafford on that drive? I mean, anything is possible, but I think too much is being made of one incident where, in all likelihood, the Rams would have just drove down the field and got a touchdown anyway. It was irritating to say the least, but the defense gifted them five times the number of points Special Teams did, and didn't even manage one turnover to help the offense.
  5. I wouldn't say it was a turnover by the offense, though, so the 6-0 ratio stands with them.
  6. You say that, but apparently Josh's performance yesterday was worse than Stafford (ok, can accept an argument there), Darnold and Purdy, only being on a level with Goff's. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/week-14-qb-rankings-2024/ I mean, he wasn't Superman until the second offensive series of the third quarter onwards, so that may have an impact on this but... what else can be said?
  7. I think they're giving Milano these games to try and regain game fitness. If he's still showing signs of struggling in week 18 they'll switch back to Williams for the play offs. If they were looking to win out then Williams would be, at the very least, sharing more snaps with him.
  8. Point 1 - you're right, but the offensive series at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd meant only a lights out offense from then on would give the Bills even a chance. We got it - particularly from Josh - but it was just too much to ask for. Execute just one and it's a different result. Unfair to ask an offense to put up 45 to win, especially without turnover assistance. Definitely. Which leads me to... Point 3 - This has been an issue with McDermott all along and he has shown no signs of changing. Why would this year be any different?
  9. And McDermott is head coach, furthermore a head coach from the defensive side of the game. If he doesn't like what Babich is calling he can and should take over.
  10. The Rams haven't put up more than 30 on anyone all season. Then the Bills arrived.
  11. Bizarre decision making creeping into the game... A defense that cannot stop the run... Starting the game flat (and the defense never recovered)...
  12. Maybe, in both cases, the Bills are making it easy for them?
  13. What an awful performance from the Bills - particularly the D.
  14. So, er... this adjustment on defense... going to happen anytime soon?
  15. They would have probably scored on that drive, even if the punt wasn't blocked. Would have just taken longer.
  16. At the moment, I'm just looking for something which isn't a blowout. That helps.
  17. This happens too often under McDermott. Too often the players look like they're going through the motions rather than being up for a game.
  18. He hasn't been good though. Too many throws off target and not for the first time.
  19. At least it would have been a 10 point game.
  20. For all the whining about the defense, the offense hardly helped by laying an egg in the first series of the half.
  21. This. Please let's cut the MVP garbage now.
  22. How many are they going to run up?
  23. The Bills are being beaten by one man and still can't work out what to do about it.
  24. And the Bills are allowing them to.
