That's the only reason why I'll be relieved if it's not Josh. If he has an off game and the Bills are eliminated, then people will soon move on if he isn't MVP. If he is, he won't get away with it like Lamar has up to now (even though people make excuses about Jackson being unfairly treated).

And actually it was the run from the Seahawks (week 8 ) to the Lions (week 15) which propelled Josh's case. Two of the games from the last four weeks - Pats, and to a lesser extent, the Jets - actually harmed his case if anything. And he only took one snap at Foxborough.

Ravens fans shouldn't be confident because Jackson tends to fade in the play offs. But he's got the talent so this year could be different.

I'd have the conventional thinking would be Ravens-Chiefs in the AFC but perhaps I'm naturally pessimistic.

That's where I am but I'm resigned to it now. All hail Lamar. Josh is just lucky to be mentioned in the same breath as him.

Josh has got first team Pro Bowl so it's 1-1 in terms of awards between that and All Pro.

I think this is where I am. Lamar has had an incredible year. So has Josh. If the latter had one in last year, then no issue with Lamar this time around. But they need to stop changing the criteria to suit their agenda. Edit: Reading the above, perhaps even Dak last year and Lamar this would have been fair enough, going off this year's apparent criteria.

I know I said it earlier tonight but that Patriots game will cost Josh. He wasn't even bad, just average for him. He was better against the Jets, but not to Rams/Lions level. He didn't need to be. As Lamar was building up a head of steam to try and win the division, Josh was treading water. It's a shame a couple of drops and a penalty took away from some spectacular plays in his last two games as well.

They didn't have to draft Ward at one - they could have let QB needy teams offer them a lot for it. I wonder if the Titans will draft Ward?

I think it's less Josh not getting MVP this year and more when will he ever get it? If Lamar gets it, it seems like the MVP voters revel in changing the parameters just to keep him away from it right now.

This may be blasphemous but, right now, if the worst happens and it's a Ravens-Chiefs Championship game I'm cheering for the Chiefs. I'll take the three-peat over the Ravens winning one. I think I'd take any team winning the Super Bowl over the Ravens.

From nearly 100 less snaps, IIRC. Averaging them out, Josh was on track to match Lamar, had he taken the same number.

Pity that wasn't the case last year. I said at the time the New England game really hurt him. People didn't really seem to believe it.

I don't think he'll be angling to leave whatever happens this season, or even next. There will come a time if the rings don't come though - especially if no Super Bowl win is forthcoming. I think the same can be said of Burrow and Jackson. I agree McDermott won't be fired yet, whatever happens in the post season. Whether it is time to move on is up to personal debate. Some think a change might work, others are concerned it won't, which is fair.
