Because it just comes across as sour grapes. Mahomes had a 130 rating after all we heard is he can’t win on the road. After winning 2 MVPs, 2SBs (one each without Hill), helped terrible Nagy get a head coaching job (while Daboll won a COY), under Andy Reid (who was known as a choker and got fired in Philly). So why can’t bills fans stop trying to dismiss that he is truly all time great. Imagine if scenario was switched, and KC fans tried to do this. We would think they were morons.

I mean I get this is offseason talk but man, let’s be better. We are lucky to have Allen but Mahomes is different man.

of course this is the board with a 100 page thread of mahomes throwing an int in training camp practice 😂

The Bills are not lucky to have Josh if Mahomes is different altogether. It just means they screwed up the draft when they had the opportunity to pick the latter.

I only agreed , because Bills have a lot of needs. More draft picks will matter. Bills up against the cap again pretty hard.

    thanks von/Mcbeane

But you love a player ay 28 , you take him. Obviously. Looking forward to more Wizardry. Beane will have dig deep into his bag.

Ps Bills need impact players asap

I was being a bit sarcastic, as I know how Beane likes collecting draft picks. If a WR is there who would work for the Bills, he has to be taken.

Here's the thing.  I don't blame Dawkins at all.  He got beat on that one play.  It happens.  When I and others call out that Dawkins got pushed back into Allen impacting the throw we're stating a fact as an explanation for why Allen missed the throw.  Dawkins had a fantastic season.  No one should judge him by one play because no one in he NFL is prefect on every play.

Agreed. But why so much heat on Josh (not from you) for not making the throw yet little heat on Dawkins for allowing the pressure to happen? It's as though Josh gets all the criticism and everyone else on offense almost gets a pass. It feels like 2&9 has been mentioned more on here post match than the Diggs and Sherfield drops, for example. Or the missed FG.

He should, given how he faded over the last half of the season

Dude has ZERO legs to stand on

I'd prefer him to front up and speak to the media. Leaders take responsibility.

No it was more than that

Our defensive injuries didn't cause Diggs and Sherfield to forget how to catch the football

Nobody on this team outside Allen can perform in the clutch staff included

The Chiefs offense miscued as well, including St Patrick. The difference is they were given other chances by the Bills defense, whilst the Chiefs defense tightened up once more.

They asked him he answered, and it's not like he was bad, and unlike Dorsey he actually adjusted to defenses.

That's fair. I don't think Brady should be simply given the job because Josh wants him.

Josh wants him back… so probably a done deal…

To be fair to Brady ….he had limitations at WR all season and was playing someone else’s offense,,

Josh should be allowed an opinion but didn't he want Dorsey as well?

We have 10 draft picks this year after we get our 3rd round compensatory pick.

Brandon Beane needs to work magic this year and get at least 2 good WRs... one of whom needs to be a 1st or 2nd round stud.  Also needs to find a mid to late round RB who can complement Cook's running style.  Might need a Center, too.

I haven't watched the presser.  I will eventually.  This just sucks because Josh was so awesome yesterday and there's going to be this narrative comparing him to Phillip Rivers for the whole offseason we have to hear.

Can I crawl in a hole and come out a year from now when we're back in the playoffs, please?

If you come out of hole in exactly a year, the Bills would have just lost in the Divisional Round.

Happens every year then Josh doesn't workout or practice all summer but he makes sure he hits up every golf course in the country. Maybe he should try out for the PGA.

I'm not saying he's the reason we lost, I just don't like all of this talk with no action. He should be calling up guys to run routes and workout. He needs to set the standard.

From memory he's worked out/practised every summer but the last. And considering the utter mess last year was I couldn't blame him for that.

Yes it is, 17 year drought was not, how soon do many forget.

    GO BILLS!!!

It depends on expectation. In year one, year two even, yes, getting to the Divisional round would have been/is successful. I can appreciate considering the mess the Bills were in at 6-6 that winning the East and getting to the Divisional is quite the recovery. But, with the roster in place and the moves made in season to improve it, is further failure to at least get to the Championship game satisfactory?

Guess that’s down to personal opinion.

Bwahahahahaha, put on your big boy pants and be happy we have a team that isn’t picking in the top five draft positions every year, 😁👍

    GO BILLS!!!

Teams 1-31 in the draft are all the same in one way - they haven’t won a Super Bowl. The Bills look no further forward now than they ever had and other franchises, such as the Texans, are starting to rapidly improve. Considering the QB at their disposal a showing of one Championship game (a loss) from six seasons is ridiculous.

At some point, Allen's running will slow down.  He can't keep getting smashed game in and game out in the regular season.  My question, can he be a good pocket QB?  I struggle with this because I love when he scrambles around and creates stuff off script (throwing or running).  When he stands in the pocket sometimes he is slow to read and release or throws an inaccurate series of passes.

He's the entirety of the Buffalo Bills offense.  I want the guy to have an extended career even after the running slows up.

I really want him to go back to Palmer this off season. Work on being more of a pocket passer, on making plays when the O Line holds up and he has time to survey the field. No one’s perfect but if he can improve on that, he’d be as close to unstoppable as a QB can be.

Allen played very well and I certainly don't blame him for the loss. But history does not care about anything you just said. Nobody remembers what a QB had when he didn't or didn't execute a game winning drive. Nobody is talking about how a OL was pushed back into the QB and that is why he missed a throw or a team that shouldn't have called a run play who did and that's why they didn't have enough plays. It is downright normal for a QB to have to execute on a game winning drive and at the end of the day all that matter is yes or no. Did he or didn't he. In this case he didn't, so to call this a legendary performance really is a flat out joke. It was a very good performance, certainly enough to win.

The gutting thing is how many times has Josh left the field with a lead? Even in his downtime this season he seemed to do it more often than not. Yet in the biggest game of the season, he couldn’t do it. Blame Jones. Congratulate Jones. Say Josh should have thrown to Diggs. But, albeit unreasonably, that’s what’s going to follow him around the off season. On the plus side, it’s a damnsight better than what he had swirling around him after the Bengals game this time last year.

Edit - Or even blame Dawkins.

See, this is the stuff that drives me nuts. Vrabel? Hes McDermott, just a foot taller and ten thousand times less of a decent human being.

You want to fire the coach, knock yourself out. But be ready to "waste" another year of Josh while the new coach puts his program and regime in place. Also, if you go the hotshot young gun new HC, be ready to also "waste" a few more years because the number of rookie HCs that won the Super Bowl is.....TWO.

Next year will be a waste with McDermott here. Then, if the Bills sack him at that point, 2025 will be the rebuild instead and another year wasted.

The Bucs realised the die was cast with Dungy. Same with Reid at Philadelphia. Next year is going to be a rebuild of sorts anyway so may as well let a new HC oversee it.

Even though I fully realise it won’t happen.

I disagree, we rebuilt the o-line, added a bunch of role players on offense, people were optimistic about Diggs and Davis. There was optimism Tre White and Von Miller would return to form. A lot of people felt we were improved “on paper” before this season.

The reality we are now facing is Diggs is possibly washed, Davis is gone, I don’t think anybody is confident White or Miller will ever return to form (or even will be on the roster next season). We don’t have the cap to pick up the same kinds of role players on offense. Our safeties were already old and are now a year older (they might not be on the roster next year, Hyde is a FA and Poyer is a liability).

Next year the marketing will be “youth movement”, but we definitely won’t be considered better on paper.

One thing different is an optimistic way is, despite the 2&9 question mark, I think most of us will be going into the off season feeling more confident in Josh. It’s never nice to end the season on a bad performance and, other than the arguable final two throws, he certainly didn’t do that, which is different from 2023 (albeit the whole team stunk the place out against the Bengals).
