And suddenly the Niners defense looks clueless.

That should have been a catch.

Oh nice. Would have looked stupid had it not paid off!

Tide is turning
McCaffrey needs to turn up. Niners won't win without a run game.

The Niners have no run game.

Oh here we go.

Williams cost them badly on that drive.

Of all people to make a stupid error.

Sadly I'm expecting an easy win for the Chiefs. Hope I'm wrong.

Is everyone done crying yet?
There will never be a MVP with an 11-6 team that has committed 23 turnovers, unless they've broken a record of some sort. It's just not happening.
I can understand Josh not getting it. The turnover record was too much despite the amount in the positive column.
But Jackson did little more than his job this season. The Ravens defense carried them as much if not more. Him getting MVP over the likes of McCaffrey and Hill is ridiculous. Heck, if it had to go to a QB, Mahomes deserved it more than him.

The world where the media doesn't view the Bills as the loveable losers anymore. The Media loves winners. While the Bills are great in the regular season they never get there at the end. IMO the national media is tired of hyping the Bills when they can't finish the job.
The same could be said of the Ravens.

I don't know how anyone can say this with any kind of certainty. Without Allen, the Bills don't win many games. Without Jackson, the Ravens don't win many games. The Ravens offense isn't that great. Dobbins was out. Their WR are very iffy. Andrews at TE is great, but he's hurt a lot. So a lot falls on Jackson' shoulders, just like Allen in Buffalo.
I'm not disagreeing that Allen is worthy, but every fan thinks "their" guy is the most important guy in the league.
Huntley ran the Ravens offense at the end of last year and was a fumble away from winning the wild card game.

The host on one of the FS1 shows this morning predicted Josh would win MVP... that they have to take into account total offense, total TDs, etc..
I can't see someone who didn't even get voted into the Pro-Bowl being given MVP. But then I didn't expect him to be nominated in the first place so who knows.
Agree with those who are backing McCaffrey and (as much as I dislike him as a person) Hill. Lamar winning it would be a joke.

Ha. I don't blame him for telling them to shove it either. But again I don't love the "I'm too busy playing golf" look. I'd rather he just told them where to stick it.
Might be a very polite way of telling them to where to stick it! Akin to washing his hair. -

I don't really care for the Pro-Bowl tbh and the rosters are a glorified popularity contest based on name recognition. But at the same time I don't love the look that a football player puts a ceremonial golf event ahead of a ceremonial football event.
If Josh was a first choice for the Pro-Bowl I’d agree. But as an alternate? I don’t blame him for telling them where to shove it.- 1

Mahomes
Josh
Burrow
Stroud
Jackson
Love
Stafford
Goff
Cousins
Purdy/Prescott/Herbert - perhaps just Herbert but tough to choose between those three

Campbell put in them in the position to win last night but also made some blunders that made their loss not just possible but eventually inevitable. In the end I think its a wash for both. The reason Detroit lost is that in the crucial moments the players themselves didnt make the plays:
1. The Killer fumble
2. The db not intercepting the deep overthrow to Samuel but assisting him to catch it (Cam Lewis/Justin Jefferson style) instead of knocking it down.
3. Goff misfiring on a few throws where it looked like it slips out of his hands and the receiver was open.
4. Dropped passes that were well thrown in the receivers hands (one on 4th down).
5. An easy dropped INT that might have been a pick 6?
6. At least 3 whiffed sacks on Purdy where he ran for huge gains
Thats just what I can remember. They are a young team and obviously in those situations the pressure just ate them up.
Though a big play when against the Lions - when Purdy's throw fell through the Vildor's hands, bounced off his helmet and Aiyuk was able to dive on it. Make that play 100 times over, and 99 times it would have been intercepted or fell incomplete and left the 49ers in a difficult situation.

It takes a Great Coach + Great QB + Great GM to overcome the cap and create a dynasty. KC has all 3.
And even with that, they don’t beat us if they weren’t playing our practice squad defense.Maybe two of three, as I'm not sure the Pats had a great GM whilst Belichick was there...
-
The one thing I would say - and apologies if it's been said already - wasn't the whole point of the cap to reduce the likelihood of dynasties?
Hasn't really worked, to be honest.

Heartbreaking to hear this. My condolences, and hope the memories and support of those closest to you in real life as well as on here will help you through these dark times.

I don't get why they don't put Brady on a lower team and allow him to grow into the role, rather than throw him into the A Team straight away.

Every season there are two MVPs - Mahomes and Allen. In seasons where neither of them get the #1 seed, the voters will justify giving it to someone else. But realistically it's those two and then everybody else.
There's an obsession with giving it to a QB. I don't think any QB has been good enough to be in the MVP conversation this year. Even the top two - Mahomes and Josh - have had their struggles. Even now, can't see beyond McCaffrey but highly doubt he gets it.

You can be hard nosed and demand respect without screaming. It's clear as day, Josh doesn't fear or respect Dorsey and Brady like he did Daboll. Daboll wouldn't let Josh just do whatever he wanted out there.
I don't think Josh was any better, or 'misbehaved' less, under Daboll compared to Brady? He actually had some really poor games - the run in 2021 where he threw seven interceptions in four games, which included the 9-6 loss to the Jags and the Colts blow out, for example. Then, near the end of that season, he threw three interceptions against the Falcons. Luckily his legs saved him, and the Bills, then.
Everyone forgets how up and down 2021 was for Josh because of how it ended, but it was not great all the time by a long stretch.

We'll see what happens. Whilst an improvement on Dorsey, I think there were too many wrinkles on the offense under Brady, especially in the passing game. On the positive side, Josh seemed more relaxed. Do I wish we'd gone for someone with more experience and offered Brady the QB coach role once again or to take on an OC role elsewhere? At this moment in time, yes.
