  1. You have to figure the Dolphins' success might turn on a light somewhere at One Bills Drive about waht you can do with a real front office and sideline.
  2. Hind tit is an awesome phrase. I wish I knew what it meant.
  3. I don't understand how an NFL level head coach can blow time management, ever. I get that there are some things in playcalling, game-planning, and scheming that I just don't understand. But there's no secret to the freaking game clock.
  4. All of us here can read both spelled numbers and numerals. You don't need to write both.
  5. http://the506.com/nflmaps/2008-17-CBS1.html You might not need one this time - SoCal is in Bills-Pats territory.
  6. Isn't he set to be in prison for the rest of his productive years as a WR? Or did I miss something?
  7. McGahee wasn't a reach, he was a waste. We had a 1400 yard RB on the team - why the heck did we need to bring in another one?
  8. I'm not sure if it makes sense to wait if there's a rush of fired coaches this year. That sounds like it means the most talent is available now - 8 or 9 staffs looking for new jobs rather than 3-4, and by next year, the top prospect coaches will be gone already. There'll be more competition this Feburary, but for more talent.
  9. The 46 is not an option. That is a scheme that requires profound talent, and we don't got it. It's a scheme that turns a dominant defense into a legendary defense, and it's only worked a few times. Remember when Gregg Williams tried to run it here? I think our best option down the road is to fall back into a hybrid 4-3 system. We do have a small, smart, quick defense, and I think they'd be able to balance a base cover-2 with a standard 4-3 and a few zone blitz calls. We do blitz sometimes; we're not in a Tampa 2 on every play. And I've seen Kelsay in coverage before, which usually means a zone blitz is in effect. We're not far from running it already, but let's just spend the offseason improving the talent and not worrying about a very specific scheme.
  10. I'm both Jewish and I think of myself generally as being politically correct, and I'm not offended by anyone - Jewish or not - making a little crack about Jews being complainers. It's a stereotype, yeah, but it's a harmless one for the most part and it's one that's propogated by virtually every Jewish entertainer. It's like teasing an Italian guy for liking pasta.
  11. Beating the Pats at home and knocking them out of the playoffs would earn Dick Jauron a lot of sympathy in my mind. I think it would STILL be the wrong strategic move to keep him next year, but I'd probably be giddy enough about the win to not care.
  12. You can go 0-7 in your division, if you finish 0-6 in the div/10-6 overall, get a wildcard, then lose to your division opponent in the playoffs. 0-8 would require an intradivision preseason game, which is rare. Maybe if we went 0-6, and then also lost to the Colts for old times' sake, then lost in the playoffs, we could call it 0-8.
  13. I have lost the ability to do this.
  14. If Stevie has a good offseason, the Bills could be solid at WR next year. Evans-Johnson-Reed, with Parrish and Hardy around for situational needs. We'll need a goddam tight end, and a freaking game plan.
  15. What would they be with Marty? That was the real choice.
  16. Not meaningless for the Broncos - they're up sh** creek right now with the Chargers ready to whup'em next week. I hope we still fire Jauron, but there's some heart on this squad.
  17. Both go 8-8, Hoculi is off the hook - same result, a Chargers division title. It's if you have the 9-7 Broncos and the 8-8 Chargers finishing up the season after the Chargers win against Denver.
  18. Sign Haynesworth, sign Peppers, and cut the entire offense and punt on first down. I think we'd do better than we did this year.
  19. Look: the Cutler and Ngata things aren't 20/20 hindsight. They were there in foresight. I think the consensus opinion on here was for Ngata. People were thrilled he was on the board, then they passed. Cutler/Leinart were on everyone's radar - call that one a wash, since people would probably have preferred Leinart. Fans can be wrong too: see the Winston Justice/Broderick BUnkley fans; I was one of them. But the scouting team knew they needed a QB, and decided Cutler was great - and still passed on him.
  20. Remarkably, the Cowboys couldn't really make hay out of the picks they got for JP. It doesn't mean that we couldn't have, but somehow, they didn't get the ransom they should have with a free 2nd and 1st.
  21. The Bills are not good enough to reach for anybody right now. Short of RB and CB, you take the best damn player on the board.
  22. And Casserly was the guy who made the call on Mario Willimams over Reggie Bush, right? I'd take that guy in a hot second.
  23. I can't believe someone found a picture of a garbage can in a hat.
  24. I think the exact emotinal style of our coaches has gotten overblown, but I think it comes down to this: We need a coach who tells his players "if you listen to me, we're going to win, if you don't, we're going to lose" and have his players believe that. That can be through screaming or it can be through sheer confidence or it could be through experience. That also means no more of this horsecockery like we've seen in the past few seasons in terms of playcalling - players aren't going to believe it if the coach doesn't deliver.
  25. Sour call of the week only? I was hoping for "Worst play of the season so far"
