  1. #12 Jets jersey with "Kissmesuzy" on the back.
  2. While there are a number of late-bloomer QBs, those guys are almost universally late round picks who spent a few years on the bench. Most first-round picks who bust with their original team go on to fail with other teams, or at best, develop into marginal starters/decent backups. Here's the list of first-round QBs who were cut by the original team/traded in disgrace/let go: 1.) JaMarcus Russell 2.) Brady Quinn 3.) Jason Campbell 4.) J.P. Losman 5.) Kyle Boller 6.) Rex Grossman 7.) Byron Leftwich 8.) David Carr 9.) Joey Harrington 10.) Patrick Ramsey 11.) Michael Vick 12.) Tim Couch 13.) Akili Smith 14.) Cade McCown 15.) Ryan Leaf 16.) Jim Druckenmiller Is there anyone on that list who proved valuable to his next team?
  3. CJ Spiller only throws Touchdowns.
  4. Jauron was both the worst coach and the worst decision. Williams was a bust, but at the time, it at least made sense.
  5. He's a Colt named Simpson, not Colt Simpson. His name is Chad.
  6. Given the soft market, I wouldn't be shocked if the Bills brought back Josh Reed and cut Roscoe, should they decide that Johnson and Hardy aren't ready for the #2 and #3 jobs.
  7. I don't see Roscoe as a lock to make the team. He's a player who has some unexplored potential, and this coaching staff is going to get a solid six weeks this summer to explore it. If he's a victim of Jauron/Mularkey, then he deserves another chance. If Bobby April got all that could be gotten out of him, then so long, sucker.
  8. Probably some combination of Ralph's Too Cheap, Nix's Too Hillbilly, and Gailey's Too Washed Up. That's the answer to any question about team choices, around here.
  9. Huh. Is there any reason to think he'll make the team?
  10. I start to get the most skeptical of QBs after the middle of the 2nd round, until we get into the total who dat category in the 6th and 7th. When there's a guy on the board who has legitimate starting potential (say, better than 50% odds), he'll rarely make it out of the first round, and even Clausen went with a team's first pick. After that, I think the guys drafted in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th tend to be backup types. It's too early to make a very risky pick on a guy who might be Tom Brady, but 10:1 he's just Rohan Davey, so those longshot guys tend to drop. Instead, the names that peek out in that range are the Trent Edwards types - future journeymen.
  11. Man, opening a restaurant and being rich enough to not have to worry about it failing really sounds like a great retirement.
  12. Dolphins 10-6 Jets 10-6 Patriots 8-8 Bills 6-10
  13. Yeah, it depends if we're talking worst result or worst decision. The floor on Williams was supposed to be that he would end up a solid starter at RT who couldn't jump to the left side. McKinnie seemed like and became the better option, but it wasn't a disaster of a pick until he showed up.
  14. I don't really understand why the players are so enamored of the current draft system. Every dollar that pays a rookie doesn't pay a veteran, and the players union is composed entirely of players who have already been drafted.
  15. It's a good quesiton - why doesn't this kind of thing happen more? I think my only real theory on the subject is the general idea that it's so hard and so rare to be a #1 overall pick kind of player, you have to have some kind of insane competitive drive to make it work that wouldn't let you rest on your laurels.
  16. What seems likely to happen is that the NFL will negotiate for a while, and then declare an impasse and implement its last offer, which will trigger a strike. The players will argue that the negotiations were in bad faith and the final offer so offensive, it might as well be a lockout. You can buy that or reject it as you so choose. But this will justify the league hiring any players who apply for the open jobs. I wonder if the salary floor will remain in place.
  17. Remarkably, it doesn't look like there's a separate offense for patronizing a prostitute under 18. The stricter punishments only kick in the grotesque situation where the prostitute is under 14.
  18. And let's not forget, for pimping a 15 year old girl, there should also be a massive sentence. EDIT: Looking it up online, it looks like he could be on the hook for 15 years.
  19. It sounds like the best case scenario for LT is that he's found to have hired a teenaged prostitute, and will be on the hook for prostitution and statutory rape. The worst case is real bad.
  20. The only way to fight off the NFL with UFL players is for the UFL to hire the locked-out NFL players. That'd be bizarre.
  21. Oh yeah, when an NFL team promises kids "celebrity coaches," they'll definitely join up hoping for a chance to meet their very own principal!
  22. I do remember that after the Kellen Winslow motorcycle accident, Roethlisberger proudly announced to the world that he didn't care, and he was going to keep riding his bike without a helmet no matter what - with the obvious and ironic consequences. So he's never been the smartest SOB, anyway.
  23. The Los Angeles Pirates seems like it would keep closest in theme while still being coherent.
