  1. How many hold outs are there every year? Ten, maybe? Out of about 1700 players?
  2. From the Simpsons: "This will make the New York Post look like the New York Times! Or the New York Times look like the New York Post. I forget which one the good one is". That's how I'm starting to feel about PFW and PFT.
  3. It's 100% symbolic. It has no effect on anything.
  4. Brandon Spoon - limitless potential until he tore a biceps.
  5. He'll get a job eventually, and probably have one of those 25 catch, 300 yard seasons that keep you bouncing around the league another year.
  6. I think he's a sleeper and makes the team - he's a good blocker and really might be more of a true backup end than a slot guy.
  7. If he has the award every year - did any other Giants leave in free agency? This might be some default crap.
  8. Ever have a dull stretch at work where you type in a web address and as it loads, you realize it's the site that you were already at?
  9. Could be worse - how many starting QBs have the Bears had since Jim McMahon? 70?
  10. I'm going to go with George Wilson breaking through and getting significant PT at strong safety as Donte moves to the free.
  11. The Pats might not be the best choice. Yeah, they robbed Seattle blind for Deion Branch, but he was really just a guy. David Givens and Patten looked good with Brady, too. Light is a star, Hill is a bust, and Eugene Wilson is a Buc. And if you move up to 2006, you get Chad Jackson. I'm not sure he's seen the field yet. They also drafted Bethel Johnson in the 2nd round in 2003. So that's three second round receivers, only one of whom starts anywhere. Other than light, if any of THOSE guys were on the roster, I'd give them up for Taylor. But I do agree with your main point, just not the team.
  12. Well, considering he went from "life-threatening condition" to "walking" in a few months, I figure he's about a year away from being Antonio Gates at this pace!
  13. Man, the wide receiver screen used to be one of my favorite plays. Used sparingly with a lightning-quick receiver, it always seemed to get a big play for those late-90s offense. Then we pulled it out and it didn't work. Okay, I thought, it was a good try. Then they went back to it and it didn't work. Hmmm - maybe we don't have this one. Then they tried it again and it didn't work. And again, and again, and again until I started feeling like it was my fault all along.
  14. Bryan Fletcher has made a few key catches, but I mean, if you're on the field with Peyton Manning, sometimes your number gets called. I'm not too impressed with these guys: what we're looking for is someone who can become a legit receiving threat or starting center. One more marginal guy doesn't change anything about Royal/Fowler.
  15. Hardy's not the deep threat. Evans is the deep threat. Roscoe is the deep threat. Hardy's the guy who'll be open half a foot past the first down marker in case Lee's covered.
  16. Believe it or not, the Eli Manning trade worked out for both teams. Shocking, I know.
  17. I'd like to have Marcus Stroud on the field personally.
  18. Can you imagine having a 27-year old son already? Bell's mom is still younger than some of our veterans. Can we give Demetrious a little f-you Karl bonus?
  19. Corey Moore was shot, right? I remember thinking that he had potential. Also, I wonder what would have happened if Sammy Morris was our starting RB all the way through. Swap out Henry, McGahee, and Lynch, and see what you would have gotten in those spots.
  20. I think William James could get cut. Cox may be headed for the practice squad.
  21. Marv wanted guys with good football character - who won't let the off-the-field stuff get in the way of the game. It's not that he wanted choir boys who never drove 66 miles an hour. He wanted guys who wouldn't crash the car and miss practice. It's about avoiding guys like TO and Chad Johnson: Neither has ever been in trouble with the law (as far as I know) but they are a constant distraction, they undermine their team and their coaches, and they bring the team down more often than not. Owens at least seems to be getting over it a bit. At the other end, there's guys like Bruce and Jim Kelly. He had his problems off the field, but it never mattered on Sunday. Except, perhaps, for Sunday, January 25th, 1991.
  22. I don't care that he smoked weed - I've smoked weed, my mom has smoked weed, most of the people I know have smoked weed. However, when you're months away from a career that will set you up for life, and you make a decision that could screw that up, then, well, you're going to make a lot of bad decisions in a sport that requires constant good ones. So if the NFL suspended you for going ten minutes without a courtesy flush, I'd stay away from anyone who let it stink.
  23. Which was such an excellent play, they fired the coach and brought in Mike Mularkey.
  24. I don't care if we get praised or bashed. I'm just sick of being ignored.
  25. This list is lame - DeSean Jackson will be a bust because he runs his mouth? Hell, Freddie Mitchell got kept around for a few years, and Keyshawn Johnson played for four teams. Who wrote this>
