  1. I absolutely was, why? Are there similarities here?
  2. He did it to make a point how even within institutions are dealt with more or less harsh
  3. no really...i would love to see the reaction if you tried to order a sub any of the cheesesteak joints here, cheesesteak is it's own category, subs are subs, grinders are grinders, hoagies are hoagies, although you can get a cheesesteak hoagie, a roast pork is a roast pork. I can just picture someone walking into a place in south philly and ordering a sub.....i honestly think it would be like sharks to blood....and trust me, i resisted the wiz for a long time. finally had one and realized it was edible....i still order mine provolone, wit
  4. yikes dude. that's gonna ruin your weekend
  5. oh my.....you NEVER call a cheesesteak a sub...that is like ordering bleu cheese with your wings in Buffalo, it's punishable by death...and wiz wit means you want cheese wiz and with onions...normally i am against cheese wiz, but on cheesesteaks it works somehow
  6. Boeheim is nailing it in his press conference. He is being completely candid and STRONGLY defending his program, his players AND the university.
  7. didn't say it was difficult, simply said i never took the time to really focus on them, sure i know venti and grande, honestly the 3rd name escapes me at this time but I know i know the word, just force of habit...small, medium large...went to starbucks the other day ordered a large bold...apparently they did away with the smooth, bold and decaf options, this one was just decaf and non-decaf(probably the pikes blend). I do agree with Beerball that it does have a hint of pretense, but that is Sarbucks in general, but that's ok...simply a comfort level thing. It was rough learning the proper way of ordering cheesesteaks here in philly....it is a very nerve wracking experience...very soup nazi like, but i seem to have adapted to that, but in my defense, i never had a cheesesteak comfort level, so it was a new experience for me. Wiz wit by the way
  8. I do it both out of habit of the way I order it at, probably, 99% of the other places I order coffee from. And also because I honestly haven't made the effort to learn the terms and what they mean. Also in my head it sounds stupid to me which is why I refuse to order "year-ohs" and stick to ordering "jye-rohs". It's an internal comfort level thing for me, albeit an admittedly stupid one. Hey, we all have our quirks we need to deal with
  9. Is driving 61 in a 60 cheating? I wouldn't say that cheating is a synonym for breaking rules. But I'm sure you've already made up your mind on the situation.
  10. The state still belongs to the Orange....as they sit back this year and collect cash from the use of their dome....not a bad gig....LIKE A BOSS!!!!
  11. See, that right there didn't help them win me over....such a cheap ploy to draw attention...that wasn't what made me a non-fan, but it didn't help to sway my opinion of them(and yeah I made that comic sans.....VH to me if the Comic Sans of the rock world )
  12. I used to go to a small roaster in midlothian va every morning, it was amazing how his coffee was 'better' in many ways, ,the roastiness was there, but not the burn that is prevalent with starbucks, the mouthfeel is way different, a lot smoother, you are getting beans that are within 24 hours of being roasted, and you are right, the customer engagement was much better...granted his retail counter was an afterthought, but he had 3 carafes full at all times, you could buy a pound or more of coffee for 8-10/lb. I prefer the local establishments as well.
  13. it isn't a coincidence that the sun is orange!
  14. i know i am in a great minority, but i really do not like van halen the band, and feel even less for eddie van halen, no real good reason, but to me, evh had one riff and made a career out of it...i know i am oversimplifying it, just was NEVER a fan AT ALL.
  15. ...and George Martin...
  16. Curious about why 3 years...i can't imagine the 1,000 wins, all time winningest coach etc is really all that important to him, but maybe he has an ego like the rest of us. perhaps he has recruited players that are 3 years out and he wants to show commitment to them...i really thought he would pack it in after next year and go play golf. I hope Hopkins is ok with that timeframe
  17. Oh well, we knew this would probably happen....Gross did some good things, but time to move on, I think Boeheim will be out by the year after next http://dailyorange.com/2015/03/daryl-gross-reportedly-out-as-director-of-athletics-at-syracuse-university/
  18. I just learned a great brewing method for coffee from Alton Brown, it has worked absolutely perfectly for me...i have NEVER been able to make a good cup(s) of coffee at home...his method is for a french press, 1/2 cup, grounds, 24 ounces boiling water and a pinch of salt. Let the grounds steep for exactly 4 minutes, plunge the press and voila...perhaps i wasn't letting it steep long enough, whatever...i could never get a good cup at home....

  20. And couple that with our FA signings, our 'lack of quality QB" will be much better than advertised
  21. this is an up to the minute graphic illustration of our current salary cap situation
