My philly cheesesteak history goes back a mere 5 years, I do not know the answer to that. I've only had it once or twice wiz style, it wasn't awful, but I provolone is my choice

Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy a Starbucks somewhat frequently, but from a cost standpoint, i can get my morning wawa coffee 24 ounce for $1.80 and that holds more appeal to me than a nearly $3.00 cup at starbucks....oh, and don't get me started on the wooden stirrers, they give me the willies ala styrofoam...something about the texture really skeeves me out. The Pat's & Geno's Cheesesteaks are for the tourists....once you are here for a while, you start to know where to get the real sammies....

what about Bernie Fine???? don't throw unproven allegations out there, that isn't fair. and this has NOTHING to do with a culture of molesting young boys...these allegations are directly related to student athletes and the rules both the student athletes and the programs have to file. I don't know what the right punishment for Penn State should have been, sure the players don't deserve what happened, but they got their wins back, but the 2 situations are completely different. come on, you are better than that.

look, i get what you are saying and i get it's all in fun, the difference in the sandwich and the size arguments is the sandwich is a regional thing, much like pop/soda, while the starbucks size thing is almost a forced vocabulary. There is a perception, right or wrong, that starbucks is better than other coffee shops and they are inventing terms to show they can....honestly, to call a small(everywhere else) a tall is kind of weird. Tall does not in any way, shape or form indicate it is the smallest size, grande, sure, that means large, big...venti...who knows what that means, but it absolutely does not scream out medium anything to me. I don't feel comfortable being 'fancy' or 'snobby' and those terms scream 'fancy' and 'snobby' to me, like i said, it's one of my manias....my own internal struggle to deal with....but damn, now i want a roast pork from dinics(best sandwich in Philly/Anywhere).... side note....never heard of a tomato pie until i moved here and resisted for the longest time...who f***ing wants cold toast with sauce on it....I gave in now i absolutely love them, so maybe there's hope for me. friends in college would 'torment' me in the dining hall because i refused to call the ice cream treat, 'nutty butty' by that name...it was too silly and i couldn't bring myself to say such an idiotic term...i'd call it a drumstick or just bail completely and order an ice cream sandwich....i have some weird things going on in my addled head....

no really...i would love to see the reaction if you tried to order a sub any of the cheesesteak joints here, cheesesteak is it's own category, subs are subs, grinders are grinders, hoagies are hoagies, although you can get a cheesesteak hoagie, a roast pork is a roast pork. oh my.....you NEVER call a cheesesteak a sub...that is like ordering bleu cheese with your wings in Buffalo, it's punishable by death...and wiz wit means you want cheese wiz and with onions...normally i am against cheese wiz, but on cheesesteaks it works somehow

didn't say it was difficult, simply said i never took the time to really focus on them, sure i know venti and grande, honestly the 3rd name escapes me at this time but I know i know the word, just force of habit...small, medium large...went to starbucks the other day ordered a large bold...apparently they did away with the smooth, bold and decaf options, this one was just decaf and non-decaf(probably the pikes blend). I do agree with Beerball that it does have a hint of pretense, but that is Sarbucks in general, but that's ok...simply a comfort level thing. It was rough learning the proper way of ordering cheesesteaks here in philly....it is a very nerve wracking experience...very soup nazi like, but i seem to have adapted to that, but in my defense, i never had a cheesesteak comfort level, so it was a new experience for me. I do it both out of habit of the way I order it at, probably, 99% of the other places I order coffee from. And also because I honestly haven't made the effort to learn the terms and what they mean. Also in my head it sounds stupid to me which is why I refuse to order "year-ohs" and stick to ordering "jye-rohs". It's an internal comfort level thing for me, albeit an admittedly stupid one. Hey, we all have our quirks we need to deal with

See, that right there didn't help them win me over....such a cheap ploy to draw attention...that wasn't what made me a non-fan, but it didn't help to sway my opinion of them(and yeah I made that comic sans.....VH to me if the Comic Sans of the rock world )

I used to go to a small roaster in midlothian va every morning, it was amazing how his coffee was 'better' in many ways, ,the roastiness was there, but not the burn that is prevalent with starbucks, the mouthfeel is way different, a lot smoother, you are getting beans that are within 24 hours of being roasted, and you are right, the customer engagement was much better...granted his retail counter was an afterthought, but he had 3 carafes full at all times, you could buy a pound or more of coffee for 8-10/lb. I prefer the local establishments as well.

i know i am in a great minority, but i really do not like van halen the band, and feel even less for eddie van halen, no real good reason, but to me, evh had one riff and made a career out of it...i know i am oversimplifying it, just was NEVER a fan AT ALL.
