  1. We have a post like this at least once a month. I'm sick of posting all my reasons why they might stay or leave etc. I'm sure that there are several others here that agree. Maybe the regulars could all come up with a collective board post that we could put up everytime this issue arises? Let's dig up our old ones and cut and paste- something covering regionalism, the Jacobs and the alternative cities/markets and so forth.

I was very fearful of the Bills leaving, but that was about 5 years ago. Not anymore. For a variety of reasons.

  2. I think Hull gets in, but it will take a guy like Felser to barnstorm for him kind of like he did for Joe D. Wilson is being denied for some odd reason. He must have made some enemies somewhere.

Hey Ashwin. I'm heading to San Diego tonight, so I won't be there. If I can, I'm going to try to get to Blind Melons down in Pacific Beach on Sunday. Last week, I ran into two guys that are from Buffalo and live in North Beach. They were in the North Star for the first time. They'll be there as will Bob and his sister. Should be a decent crowd. I'll be there on Halloween for the Cardinals game. See you there?

  4. lol, 24-10 might be a little generous, but I think we pull this one off to the amazement of most national media figures(ps: i know espn guys picked 4 of 5 in favor of the bills.)

OK. So 24-10 will be my beer to shot ratio. The score will be 13-10. The important thing is that we'll win and I get tanked.

    YEP. That works.

If you want to waste an hour of your time, just vote, clear your cookies, close the window, click on RRichs link, and repeat. Each click will take you about 20 seconds.

Then I guess there really isn't much to do in Green Bay other than adore the Pack.

Then again, what are we all doing here?

  6. I'm more inclined to think that the magic on the island has access to peoples emotions, thoughts and weaknesses.  Hence having Jack confront his father's demons while at the same time leading him to the water.

Yep. That's been my theory all along. The Stay Puft Marshmellow Man Theory I will call it. Your thoughts, dreams and demons manifest in some form and help you (Locke walking again) or destroy you.

  7. There's plenty of explanations...

#1 The airline put an empty casket in (either on purpose or by accident).  This would go along with the airline regulation to not let the casket on for whatever reason (Jack was arguing with the clerk, and the clerk never said "Ok, we'll do it for you.")

    #2 Someone/something stole the body.

#3 The body fell out as the casket was falling from the sky, so it's in the jungle somewhere.

I still think #1 has the most chance of being true, but we'll see.

I also like the idea that they create their own reality...

I thought about your theory #1. They put on the coffin, but no body. That is why he got mad and broke up the coffin. All of the theories are plausible. Outside of #1 being the case, I think we are being led to believe that his dad is somehow resurrected.

  8. Alos, hate to overanalyze, but it is clear that Jack wasn't hallucinating and that when he was near the fire, he heard and saw soemthing close by that led him to that waterfall. It sounded like the clinking of ice in a glass. Like when his dad lectured him. That was an eerie scene as a whole. Sorry for so much off topic, but this show is fascinating. I hope they don't mess it up.

  9. It was another good episode that had me interested from begining to end..

I have been giving it more thought though,is it possible they are all dead already, just stuck in limbo or a twilight zone as someone had refered to above. You get the constant references now to magic and the fact that the crippled guy couldn't walk and suddenly he can now after the Rosen. Also you got Jack seeing his dead father, which they do attempt to explain..A different way to watch the show though when you're thinking along those lines..Just some food for thought I guess..

Remember the doll found underwater at the falls? Did anyone else equate that with the woman that drowned at the beginning? I think way too much while I watch this show.

  10. You should check out Veronica Mars.  It's actually really good.  It has some very good writing (reminiscent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly), but nothing supernatural.  The main character even reminds me of Buffy quite a bit.  There's a lot of mystery trying to figure out what's going on.  Here's the basic premise:

Highly recommended.  That, Lost, and "Judging Amy" are the only three dramas I watch.  Add in "8 Simple Rules" and "Grounded for Life," and that's the end of my prime-time viewing.

For those that liked the show the Office, with David Brent, he is doing a 2 hour special catching up with what the characters and what they are now doing. That show was hilarious. It will be on BBC America, not sure when.

  11. I'd be chalking this up as a win if I were a Baltimore fan. Until the Bills win a few games against quality opponents, we will be viewed as a pushover. We were close in most games this year, but good teams win those games. Were not a good team right now. I think we are improving, but it'll take more time. I don't want to sound overly down here, becasue I am optimistic with this team. They'll turn the corner and I thnk it'll be before the end of the season.
