1. The pilot episode was supposed to be 2 hours, but it got split in half. I saw a plot summary for the second part that said that 6 survivors are attacked by a polar bear while hiking. Whatever was hitting those trees and killed the pilot was bigger than a polar bear. Obviously, there is something very weird on the island, if it is an island. You don't really know where they are. Also, someone is a prisoner as you could see by the handcuffs in the next episode and I think the guy from Lord of the Rings had drugs in the bathroom.

This looks like it has potential.

  2. Had a good time before the game. There were only about a dozen of us, the others came later and were on the other side of the stadium. We got Raiders fans nearby to do Pinto Ken's bowling ball shots, and they were civil to us. Coy Wire's family stopped by (he went to Stanford). Even the people in line for the porta-johns were ok. We got yelled at on the way in and one guy in our section was yelling F*** Buffalo. The Raiders fans next to us wanted him to STFU. Got a lot more swearing at me on the way out. I'd hate to see it if we won!  After the game had a good time until the cops told us to leave 90 min after the game ended. Got to see the dumpsters buring and the fire dept. come- some idiots threw their coals in them.

Was Ed Parsons with you? I sat with him at the game. Yeah, the Raiders fans were all pretty cool. If we had won, it would have been much different. I talked with many fans on the way out and they all gave Buffalo props. I was with the bus that came, we were in lot B and had about 40 fans with us, so we had the numbers on our side. No fights or problems anywhere that I saw. The Niners game a few years ago was way way worse with lots of fights. Stop up at the Northstar for the Bills-Pats game in a few weeks. I need the bye week.

  3. It was a glorious day for a football game in Oakland, except for that loud sucking sound eminating from our offense.  Some observations:

    - I saw a decent amount of positive interaction between Travis and Willis on the sidelines and during substitutions.  Looks like the "rift" is much more a media creation than a reality.

    - Coy Wire looked totally lost on a lot of plays, as usual -- poor tackling angles, uncertainty about his assignments.  I decided to watch him on one play, and I saw him do a full 360 in the process of finding the ball carrier.  Oy.

    - Speaking of safeties... Rashad Baker, what on earth are you doing on our roster?

    - That shot to the head that Bledsoe took was vicious -- he had already thrown the ball and was totally defenseless.  A flag on that play would have had a significant effect on the game.

    - The Oakland Coliseum wasn't as intimidating a place as it's made out to be... although I heard more screams of profanity there than any time since I saw Sam Kinison in concert at UB in the late 80s!

I was there too. It was about as nice of a day as you can get except for the loss. The Raider fans were way more mellow than I expected. The frustrating thing for me was focusing on the receivers, seeing them open and then having Drew sacked. Painful.

  4. Stevestojan,

    Relax and take your Ritalin.

You want to talk bad-the 84 and 85 seasons -both 2-14. Vince Ferragamo and a bunch of QB's I can't even remember. Of course you probably don't remember them, you're too young.

Start yelling at the middle of the seson.  We have a new coach and blocking schemes. I'm not happy either about the games so far (Hey, I spent $90 for a ticket to yesterday's game) but I'm not getting my BP up bitching about it.

Hey man, how'd things go for the gang yesterday?

  5. Couldn't bear to go to the game as I figured the walk of shame following and the harassment during wasn;t worth it. Bet the pre-game at the NS was the highlight.

How'd raider fan treat you guys?

    38742

I had no harassment at all. One guy wearing a Gannon jersey gave me the finger at one point and then, later, when I was having a beer at the half, he came over and said he was from Lewiston. What was up with that? Anyway, we had a large group so we didn't have too much of problem at all, but were way up at the top of the stadium in nowhereville It was also interesting to note that there were lots of empty seats. It was not good walking out, but we lost so they left us alone. People actually came up and shook hands a few times. They respect the Bills, but I think if we had won, it would have been a different story. There were many frightening fans there, you could see trouble simmering. You get these fans that wear the outlandish outfits. Everyone's see them on TV, I'm sure. Faces paited, skull masks and all that. Also, this was the only sporting event that I've been to where whites are by far and away the minority. It was a very Hispanic crowd, lot's of Mexican flags in the lot. Not a bad thing at all, it's just interesting to see. I had way more trouble at the Bills-Niners game a few years back.

  6. Ok, i decided today to get it all out. I swear, I will have less "dooooomed talk" tomorrow. But, Im airing this all out now.

    Is Troy Vincent Color Blind?

Has there EVER been another incident where a QB got hurt while wearing the RED practice jersey?

From those who were there, they said it was NOT a vicious hit, but he could have avoided contact at all.

Man, how much does at least HAVING THE OPTION of JP sound great right now?

Unfortunatly, due to the head of the player's association not thinking for 3 seconds, we are stuck with a guy that is over the hill and done.

Bledsoe is NOT John Elway. He has sucked for 2 seasons now. Its time to call a spade a spade and realize he is done.

Oh, and please, remind me our Oline isnt good. Well

    1) Alot of teams have online problems and score more than 20 points in 2 weeks.

    2) Its easier to replace one guy than it is 5.

    Late.

    38716

Let's see... true true and true. It is painful to watch Bledsoe out there. It's like watching your buddy get sucker punched and you can't get there in time to help.

  7. That old adage may very well be true, but when you're talking about a QB who is now 27-41 as a Starter in his last 68 Starts, I just don't think the old adage applies...I mean after all, there are trends and there are near certainties...4.25 Seasons, 14 Games under .500...Those are the numbers, and in the end those are the numbers that count...

    38559

It is painful to admit, but the numbers don't lie. Losman is the answer. I am 100'% certain that the Bills would have won with Losman over center.

  8. 95% of the people on this board would have been in the hospital after the first time they got hit.  It is funny - you went to the game and saw wide open receivers.  Another poster went to the game and claimed that the wr's could not get any separation.  I remain worried about Drew but let me remind you of the age old adage - when things are going good the quarterback gets too much credit when things are going bad the quarterback gets too much blame.

    38517

Good point. Drew is not the only villain. The O-line shares the blame. Bad call on 4th and goal too. But it was clear that the guy doesn't have a good vision of what is going on downfield. I saw it. I just feel that we are squandering our opportunities with a good roster and the Achilles heel is at the helm and there is no real solution because all of the backups are hurt.

  9. The guy cannot find the open receivers. He is panicky in the pocket. On at least 3 of the sacks, he had 2 open receivers he didn't see. Moulds was even waving to him on one. Like in your yard when you played with your friends when you were 10. One time Henry was wide open. I'm not kidding, 95 % of the people on this board could have completed the pass. He threw the ball into the ground twice in front of receivers. It was a sick joke.

Then there was 4th and goal. They couldn't stop us on the outside. So we try to run up the gut against big Ted. Pitch to McGhee, run a sweep and that's 6 points. Was Gilbride on the sideline yesterday? It sure felt like it

It's going to be a long season.

  10. What's the big deal with picking your team??  (BTW - Pats 27, Cards 20 this week. )

99.9% of you guys picked the Bills to win last week.  It's a part of supporting your team!!  It's not a stretch to envision a Raiders win this week by any stretch of the imagination - no one blinks twice on here about a 6-10 team coming off a home loss going out to the WC and winning, do you?  It's not a stretch to see a Bills win, either.

    FWIW - I see OAK 20, BUF 10.

Nothing wrong with picking your own team. However, I think the Raiders fans are wildly underestimating our defense.

These guys seem to think the Raiders are world beaters. The betting "expert" for the Chronicle said this will be one of the Raiders few blowouts this season and is also picking the Raiders in his suicide pool.

Excuse me, but the Raiders won 4 games last year, have no run game, a quarterback that rivals Bledsoe in scrambling speed and made no major improvements from last years squad with the exception of Sapp.

I hope we destroy these guys.

  12. I was wondering how our Bills Backers Group was able to get our block of seats all together. Raider Nation is a myth! Opening day too.

They call for a few showers, but anyone else that lives out here in the Bay Area knows that the weather can change quickly and we could end up with a sunny and 75 degreee day on Sunday. If it is rainy and breezy, that will be fine because the Raiders will have a harder time with the passing game and they have no run game.

  13. One summer, during college break I was really hung over and still half drunk going on no sleep. About 1992? I spent about 14 hours picking up/carrying/rolling sod on a huge new lawn in Orchard Park. It was about 85 degrees and felt like it was 100. It was a total nightmare. I went home with a six pack and got in the shower with a chair and sat there and drank the whole thing. I might have had a problem. Good times good times

  14. OK cool. Are you guys wearing Bills jerseys to the game? I was going to, but just making sure it's safe!!!!!!!!!!!

    32541

Wear nothing that is of sentimental or monetary value. For example, the signed Jim Kelly jersey should stay at home. Wear the Rob Johnson.

  15. Are you guys taking a bus down? If you have space, could we join you? We'll help you pay for it. If not, I can drive, no biggie.

    32559

You sure can. We are meeting at the Northstar in North Beach at roughly 10am. We are unsure when we will head over to meet up with the other big group that is tailgating. The cost of the bus won't be too bad and likely include food at the Northstar before and lots of booze. I'd estimate $20 tops and probably less. Send me a PM and let me know what your group looks like. We will be ripping it up after the game too.
