I'm not sure what you mean by "They already made the decision to" and "the money is tied up".
Could you explain please?
What more is there to explain? Just listen to a Beane press conference. We are broke and he continues to point to Davis ankle injury.

So what you are saying the Bills will make no effort to upgrade WR#2 and are willing to fall on the sword for Gabe "Inconsistent" Davis and possibly waste another year of Allen's career.
They may be willing to let him compete in camp but I don't believe they will ignore what ALL of us saw from Gabe last year
They already made the decision to. The money is tied up. No draft pick coming in is going to start over Gabe.
Gabe Davis is the number 2 WR on this team.

I get a little worried hearing so many say "The Bills WR room could be set"....
I worry, because I can see how people .. maybe even our FO.. could say that.
WR1 Diggs
WR2 Davis
WR3 Shakir
WR4 Harty
WR5 Sherfield
TE Knox
RB1 Cook
RB2 Harris
RB3 Hines
All five of our WR's have inside/outside flex & there's quite a bit of speed in that room. Can Knox be freed up to be the pass catcher we paid him to be? The RB room looks extremely promising.
I can see a world in which that's a really productive WR unit, and if the OL is improved, an elite Offense. I can also see a world where Allen & Diggs are extremely frustrated all season.
Still believe the final addition to the WR room needs to be someone that can push Gabe Davis, but I can also see the FO taking a WR early Day 3 and then feeling like they did what they needed to do this off-season around Allen, given the cap constraints and draft capital.
Whether you like it or not, this regime loves Gabe Davis. He will be the number 2 WR here next year.

Doesn't Slayton drop enough balls to go around?

The Bills are paying a total of $12mm this year for the best safety duo in the NFL and your take on that is negative?
Wow.
Next year the cap hit for those two is $7mm.
Is that too much as well?
Sling and miss for strike one for Back2Buff....
Hyde is not signed next year. We just have a cap hit for him.
-
Makes Hyde's contract look really bad, especially since we have a dead cap on our books for next 3 years for him, over 3 million next year.
-
Spector is the best option. Seriously. He was underrated in college, and looked great in preseason and the little he played in blow outs.

That I don't get, but I assume Kromer knows more than me. IDK
Why would you assume that?
I'm just hoping it wasnt communicated to him yet.

$16M in Cap Space.
$5M for Rookies.
So $11M in cap space.
But doesn't look like Poyer or Allen's contract is in Spotrac yet.
lol, its half that for rookies.

It might happen. Hines is an RB/Ster and is Cooks backup - so he is not the same.
At slot last year we started with Crowder/McKenzie and rookie Shakir (and needed to later get Beasley). So this year going with Harty/McKenzie and Shakir doesn't seem outrageous.
Actually Harty's versatility seems like it is a plus to asset management - he can be the backup STer (to Hines), replace Crowder and Beas, and take over the Smoke Brown speed element.
Absolutely not. 3 guys under 5'8 should not be considered big pieces of your offense.
-
It would be really bad asset management to have Harty, Hines, and McKenzie on one team. Beane is terrible at asset management so I wouldnt be shocked to see all three on team taking up over 10 million in cap space.

Never like taking chances on guys that have "potential"
We shall see, but I don't think it solves anything.

Restructures mean nothing in terms of something being on the brink of happening.
Look at it this way.
A player has 4 years left on deal. Ten million dollars is converted to bonus so now its spread amongst this year, and the remaining three years. Cap savings of current year would be 7.5 million.
Guy is cut after year 2 of restructure. That means the dead money increased 5 million dollars when you go to cut him, because you already accounted for the 2.5 million in each of the prior 2 years.
The Bills rolled over the cap savings from the restructure so now have an additional 5 million when you go to cut him.
End of the day, it costs you nothing more against the cap than it would have been since it is a higher dead cap, but you have more roll over. However, in the current year of the restructure, you have a cushion just incase you need it.

So it's super quiet does that mean something big is coming?
I think more players are waiting till FA actually opens. That way they can visit and talk with the coaches.

I think Poyer is going to be very shocked at how little interest there is out there for the money he thinks he is going get.
This season exposed a lot of what many worried about with Poyer, the body breaking down. He injured just about every part of his body this year and its no surprise its happening as he is 32 years old.
I don't see any team giving him more than a 2 year deal, with the option of getting out of it after 1.
Poyer's market being low was predictable. He plays in a very safety friendly system and did not do well after week 5 last year.

I’m trying to figure out if you have ever said anything positive on this site like ever, I mean like ever
Looks like a quality, young guard who has gotten plenty of starter snaps who has flexibility to play three different positions
Doesn’t commit holding penalties
Doesn’t give up sacks
And came at $2 million cheaper than the name recognition guards then Ben Powers got the ridiculous contract
People stop looking at the name on the back of the jersey look at their physical traits and their production. This is what team does, so this is what you should do.
So you say the same thing about everyone that doesn't drink the Kool Aid that Beane dishes out?
-
On Mike Clay's FA list, he was the 14th best guard available, right in front of Safford.
Wouldn't expect too much from him. Seems like a lot of money, tbh.

I would sling #27 for him. The kid can play, he's only 23, and we don't have to worry about the contract for another couple of years. I'd take him over anyone we would have the opportunity to draft in the 1st at our position.
No way. Jeudy is made a glass. Not to mention, his up-coming contract is not a selling point. I would rather draft Zay Flowers.

If it involves Edmunds leaving town, those will be tears of joy from a lot of us!
👍
Depending on who they bring in. I'm hoping we see a nice replacement for him in FA. Draft is very weak. Better next year though, so a one year deal on a vet wouldn't be a bad idea.

Where is the guy who tracks Pegula's jet? That's always fun and never creepy.
I dont think players can visit until Wednesday.

Free agency starts in 30 mins. This legal tampering is a joke. Most deals are done by Wednesday.
It's gonna get interesting and fun

Yes, it was based upon the line you said.
I feel like I am getting gaslite every time Beane talks about Brown. Like he is telling me the exact opposite from what I'm seeing. Brown is too tall and skinny. He spends way too much time on the ground. His back will always be an issue with the way he plays.
