No way I’m trading pick 28, pick 60 and next years 1st to move up to pick 9 for a WR.  Chiefs traded less to us to move up for a QB.

Absolutely not.  Most I would trade to move up is next years first (just because that Minny 2nd is going to be high) and a 4th this year.  However, it would need to be for Rome or Harrison.  If both those guys are gone, I'm picking at 28.

  2. Because the eclipse was cloudy yesterday, I spent the entire time looking at WR in this draft.

I don't understand the Brian Thomas hype.  All he does is run go and hitch.  I respect Josh Norris a lot, and he is also low on Brian Thomas.  The tape just isnt there with Thomas.  It's the same thing over and over again.  Go routes.

On the other hand, Xavier Worthy is going to be a problem in this league.  The guy played outside way more than I thought.  The amount of coverage he took away for teammates was insane.  AD Mitchell wouldn't even be a Day 1 or 2 pick if it wasn't for Worthy.  The guy also has multiple years of production and he ran really nice routes.

Worthy is my 4th rated WR.  Legette is my 5th.

You need players that compliment each other. Kincaid, Shakir, and Samuel will eat up underneath stuff and RPO’s. Now you need to compliment them with field stretchers and field wideners.

Guys who threaten the defense with speed and suddenness.

I think they all fit but if you can get that at 28 or further back then maybe there’s no point in trading up.

You don't draft a complimentary speed WR in the top 4 rounds.

Look at when Shorter was drafted LY.  That's where you draft guys that can just run straight down the field.

Early, you want guys that are going to succeed at what your offense runs on 95% of the plays.  You don't draft a guy to run 5% of plays high.

I think they would adjust the offense to take advantage of Thomas’ skill set.  Perhaps the Bills moved to the offense as you described it because they didn’t have a legitimate field stretcher/boundary guy with size.  Every 3-4 games Davis would fill that role and then he would disappear.

I don't know man.  They had Davis and Diggs at this time.  Davis became invisible and Diggs became a screen WR.  Seemed like a pretty evident change into what Brady wants to do.  We had a successful offense with going downfield before with the same talent.  We changed the OC and had the same players.

For an example a little closer to home for us, think about the Hasek trade saga. He (and his agent) made it clear that he wouldn't show up anywhere else but Detroit. I'm sure Diggs' agent was doing exactly that behind the scenes.

So he was under contract with the Bills.  They could have talked with teams without the agent or Diggs knowing.  They couldnt say anything or it would be tampering.

The more that I think about this, the more that I'm sure that we all got played. This clearly was an NBA-style player-originated move hatched at the Pro Bowl.  Mixon, Stroud, and Diggs all worked behind the scenes to make this happen. I'm not sure how Diggs forced Beane to trade him where he wanted to go, but I'm sure he threatened to not show up unless it was Dallas or Houston. That's what NBA players do.

Yeap, I have no idea why Beane let him pick where he wants to go.  Makes zero sense to me.  Yet again, the biggest complainer gets what he wants.

  7. Someone on youtube put all the plays of Kincaid and Cook.  The change is how these two got the ball was pretty evident when Brady took over.  Tons of RPO and quick strike.  In saying that, I just dont see how some of these guys fit into that offense.  I just see guys like Ladd and Lagette as the best fits.  I dont see a guy like Brian Thomas even being that good of a fit TBH.  I think he is being used as a smoke screen.  I almost wonder if the Bills would have Worthy over him.

I think McConkey can be the “go to” money guy, in the same way Beasley and Edelman were. However I think McConkey will be a better YAC dude.

McConkey plays nothing like Beasley or Edelman.  He is more Diggs than those smaller slot WR guys.

Allen's long ball accuracy is indeed spotty. He can do better. Get him the right receiver(s) and imo his accuracy will improve. You have to make productive use of that arm.

Of course bombs are fun but they are in any event low completion playcalls. The credible threat to take the top off at any time can however do a lot for your O underneath.

Don't agree with this.  There has been countless times where the WR was wide opened and Allen just straight up missed the guy.  What else do you want the WR to do.  I go back to the Miami game.  Allen completely misses Diggs wide opened deep, and on a deep ball Diggs does catch in London, it was terrible placement.

  9. My money is on Ladd.  He is Diggs, without Diggs younger long ball ability.   Ladd will absolutely torch you from 5 - 15 yards.

They need to figure out the long ball still, but lets be honest with ourselves, Allen's long ball ability isn't very good.  Should we really be looking for a long ball WR if Allen struggles with accuracy on the long ball?

He is? Why do you say this? If he is better than Jordan Phillips then he must be pretty damn good! I hope you are correct! I don't know this new guy so....

Did you even watch the games last year?  Phillips was one of the worst players in the entire NFL.  Literally watched guys run right by him.  Dude retired before last season.

PFF isn't a great measurement, but Phillips had a grade of 35 last year.  Horrible.

I agree with the drops but to me he’s a very good route runner. WR size doesn’t matter too much anymore to me. CBs can’t touch these guys anymore. I saw a guy that played fast and had suddenness in his routes. I also saw an ability after the catch.

    Drops are concerning.

Almost all he does is run vertical.  In terms of what it takes in the NFL, you cant call him a good route runner.  He just doesn't run enough of the route tree.
