  1. 1. TE - Draft two next year. Cut Lee Smith at the end of the season.

    2. WR - Graham needs to go. Give two first rounders for Larry Fitzgerald.

    3. LB - Kiko was awful today. Not saying he needs to be replaced but he still looks too small to play MLB. I would be ok with another MLB and moving him to weak OLB.

    4. Add depth to OL

    5. Resign Branch and Carrington

3 - did you seriously just go after Kiko?

    4 - doesn't change anything

    5 - isn't a fix

So again, two people fix all this? What about giving up 34 points to a team who lost 5 straight

  2. I've been thinking about this for a few weeks as I watch College Football wind down and players emerge as first round picks. But especially after this game, I wonder what needs to be done to fix this wreck. The problem is, I have no idea. Honestly think about the positions we have:

D-Line - We have 2 Pro-Bowl players and 2 above average guys on that line. Dareus is no chump, but we can't stop the run.

CB - Byrd is a pro-bowlers, we aren't getting beat deep, Gilmore is considered a top tier CB, and McKelvin has maybe had 2 bad games. Williams and Robey have done great too.

LB - DROY in Kiko, Hughes has 6 sacks, but maybe better here....

O-Line - Haven't given up many sacks and we are top 5 in rushing

WR - Just drafted 2 guys with potential as our 2 and 3 WR. Stevie could go either way, but not a glaring issue

    TE - Yup, need one.

QB - That's for debate, but I will say this. Besides the Pittsburgh game, what games has he lost? Left the Pats game with the lead, beat the Panthers, Lost the Steelers game, Crushed the Jets, wasn't great today, but was in FG with Stevie to win it and Chandler was close. You can knock him all you want, but I don't see where an upgrade gets us more than one additional win. I don't count the injury against him because that happens.

So seriously, one more LB, a TE, and maybe a WR? I just don't see how that's really going to be the difference. It's more inconsistent play and a loser mentality that finds a way to show itself. I think that's what makes this more frustrating because I have no idea what to do next

  3. I'm just shocked after this game. Not because we lost. I mean c'mon, we're the Bills. But, usually we can call out specific things that are the problem that could be fixed with this or that. After this game, I'm lost. I mean, what the crap was that out there? It was just a combination of decisions and plays that only can come together on the festering trainwreck that is the Bills. I mean, look at it all:

    1. Bills fans talking about how easy the next 3 games were (Atl, Jax, TB) and how we are in the playoff race with wins. Also, technically the easiest schedule in the NFL. I mean, if that doesn't tell you how we are going to lose the first game, then you are new to the Bills. They even showed us on the playoff hunt graphic for christ's sakes. That should have sealed it right there
    2. We have great blitzing schemes and pressure in the first quarter, we go up by two scores, and then completely stop. I've never seen such a dramatic change in defense so quickly before.
    3. EJ was not great by any means. He could have easily thrown two INT's with those comeback routes he missed. Losing like that would have been easier than this crap. And like typical EJ, he actually did just enough to win at the end, but was just abandoned by Chandler and Stevie
    4. How about the replay of the Carolina game with Stevie's game winning catch. Once you saw that, how did it feel with the fumble? Normal right? Then, when Chandler does it next? I mean, is that coaching?
    5. What Bills game would it be without a 3rd down bomb that had no chance of being completed?
    6. Marrone finally won a challenge
    7. The Falcons were on a 5 game losing streak and couldn't beat a high school team
    8. The Bills had yet to have a game deciding PI call to alter the outcome of the game....queue today
    9. We played in Toronto....against a dome team.....where the fans were cheering the Falcons by the end....in a month where it would be freezing in Buffalo
    10. And the final reason why we lost....It's December 1st and the Bills can't possibly allow themselves to be in the playoff race this late in the season. They almost made it a full day in December.

Seriously. I don't know what to say. Blow it up? EJ isn't the answer? Gilmore and McKelvin are getting exposed? Stevie does just enough to not be elite? Coaching has no idea how to win games, let alone back to back game. This is just a joke and I don't know what the fix is. Everyone contributes equally with terrible play to make this team terrible. And it's a culture that follows every GM, Coach, and Player. I can't think of a FA, Draft, or anything that would actually put this team over the top anymore.

  4. We are healthy, we played a bad team, we've had players come back with less time to prepare and play better.

This game ended our season and did it in a way that removed hope and optimism. I've got nothing and I question if we can afford to give anyone the benefit of the doubt in regards to potential going forward.

    Manuel and Marrone included

  5. Because they proved they couldn't run it. If you live in fear of the int, then don't start the guy.

These guys have check downs. If he didn't stare him down and throw it blindly, he would have see the coverage. If he looked around at all after that, he could have hit Stevie or thrown it away.

Are you not going to run it in fear of a fumble? They called a play, he didn't make him make that stupid throw

How many teams have 3 good QB's?

This team wasn't going to go anywhere with EJ (and only if he developed). There weren't any QB's available that would have taken this team to the playoffs. They tried Kolb, who was about the best available.

Kolb went out a whole ago. As did EJ. They could have been better prepared than to put all their eggs in the EJ basket, not learn their lesson, and put all their eggs in the Thad basket?

    Again, doesn't make sense

  6. Not to compete with BillNYC but,

    1. Our lack of planning for depth at QB lost this game. Tuel made some decent throws and wasn't helped out by the drops, but still made a terrible goal line throw. And couldn't seem to hit crossing routes. Dude overthrew Chandler how many times?

    2. Fans here have a blind hatred for the offensive coaching. I say coaching because I noticed today that Marrone only wears a headset on offense, so I have to assume some input from him. Either way, and average qb wins the game totay with the play call. I've had issues in the past, but not this game. They called good plays, but there was terrible execution. And for those blaming them for the pick 6 in the end done. Just because they called a crossing route doesn't mean that the guy can't get covered and the qb makes a different throw. Nothing says he had to make a blind throw to a guy that was just standing there the whole time.

    3. Injuries/hold outs are killing us. Gilmore and Byrd still aren't themselves yet. Their time Away is having a huge affect on them. Also, spiller is very hit and miss still. All three are affecting us

    4. The rules are getting too technical. Goodwin caught that ball and the defender knocked it out after he was down. He absolutely caught it and common sense needs to prevail.

    5. Graham can't afford those drops. To that extent, I don't know why he's on the field over Goodwin anymore. PS, you too Easley

    6. We lost and didn't give up an offensive touchdown. Most are going to say "typical Bills." I disagree. The only thing typical was the drops. Everything else was just a unique set of circumstances that let us lose.

I genuinely believe that we should have won this game and, if we punch the ball in the end one from the 1, we are all praising the coaching staff and our outlook for the remaining season

The only solace I have is that we all know the Chiefs are in for a rude awakening as they start to play the real schedule. False hope is a B word

  7. Roger Goodell is a great commissioner

    Fred should be starting

We should be in the AFC North with the Browns, Bengals, and Steelers

Our defense is our biggest problem

Our FO is still not right. (All our eggs in the EJ basket has us starting a guy 5 days after he's signed)

Kyle Willams, Dareus are not good. No matter what people say, we've been crap against the run since they've been on this team. One great play here and there doesn't excuse the yards we give up

Thad is as good, if not better option than a healty EJ right now. EJ's inability to throw the deep ball is hurting us a lot

  8. I had no expectations going into this game. I think the game shouldn't even had gone to OT based off of how we played.

However, even with all of that, way to just give up at the end. That was the most pathetic play calling I've ever seen, especially knowing that a punt from there usually puts a team a first away from FG range and that wins the game. That was seriously a joke. And don't tell me about having Thad in there. You trusted him all game to make throws. I just don't get it. And also, why Hogan is in there when you have Woods, Graham, and Goodwin is beyond me.

And lastly, this is now two weeks in a row where we've scored enough points to win and our Defense is just getting owned. I don't care who is hurt, but we got Byrd back this week and McKelvin the past two weeks. It's getting to be pathetic

  9. I feel I should clarify my original post. I'm not saying we should be judging him on his first 5 weeks alone. I'm saying that, even if we see another 6 weeks of him, do we feel comfortable having only him as a viable starter on our team?

We have no depth and our season feels over without him. We have no assurances his knee won't be an ongoing issue and we won't have enough info on him to know if he can be the guy.

With that, do we get competition, solidify a backup (ej or the rookie), and take a qb if there is a can't miss guy there.

And in no way am in saying that ej can't be the guy. I'm a huge fan of his and am sad to see his progress get slowed

  10. For those of you saying you wouldn't do it, are you saying it because:

-his injuries are a fluke and you feel safe with him staying

-you've seen enough to know he's our

-we couldn't get someone better in next year's

-Tuel is good enough to be our backup and win games if

Or is it just because you don't believe in taking a qb two years in a row with first round picks?

I wish I could say yes to the above with 100% certainty with the games we will see him play in, but I just don't know yet

  11. I want to clarify a few things first:

1 - I love EJ. I think he has all the tools, a great leader, and can be great.

2 - I think drafting a qb in the first round of the draft two years in a row is insane

If EJ misses 5-8 weeks, he would only show us 11 games this year, possibly only 8. While I like his potential, that's all we've actually seen is potential. Plus, we have a guy who has now suffered 2 knee injuries in 8 weeks. I know they are both considered minor injuries, but still, that's his knee.

With EJ out, I don't think that we are going to win a game without him. Nothing against Tuel and I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see him having what it takes and I don't see a free agent QB out there that's going to make a difference.

With all of that, I can easily seeing us pick in the top 10 of next years draft which is considered to be one of the deepest QB drafts since 84. To me, if there is a can't miss QB, can we afford to pass on him? We will have a qb on our team with no back up, who we aren't positive can be the guy, and has already had two misses with knee problems. Plus, with the new agreement, salary really isn't an issue. To me, if EJ wins that qb battle, then more power to him and we have a back up. If EJ loses the battle, then again, more power to us for having a better QB.

I feel crazy for saying this, but it was amazing how quickly that game was over the minute EJ went out. It's amazing how quickly EJ got hurt again after the preseason. And it's amazing to me how I feel we have no chance to win during the games he is gone. There are too many question marks at the QB position and you can't be a winning franchise with that. Yes, we need another CB, G, TE, and maybe FS. But those can be later round picks and I think we have a GM capable of filling those holes.

    Blast away!

  12. Why not wait and find out if EJ is gonna be a bust before buying his jersey? smh at people buying players' jerseys the second they start their careers.

I've wanted one since he got drafted. They weren't available on the site until June, which I ordered. It was the cheap iron on version. I waited for training camp and the regular season to see if other vendors had them and still nothing.

It's just ridiculous. I'm pry gonna have to shell out the $300. All of the knock offs look terrible

  13. The only available authentic jerseys are the ones with the toilet seat collars?

Exactly. I get that he's not a top QB and the Bills aren't a top team.

But seriously, I just want to buy the starting QB's jersey from my favorite team and no one has it. There are either cheap knock offs, $300 jersey's that don't represent what the players are actually wearing, or ****ty iron on jerseys. I can't believe how hard this is

  14. I was at the first game and was blown away for how EJ played in his home opener against the Patriots. In trying to keep perspective around what we should expect out of the kid. And for the first game, outside an under thrown deep ball that was almost picked off, I really couldn't pick out much I would expect a rookie to do.

However, in watching the game today, there were some things that I felt he missed, but didn't have the luxury of seeing the whole field as I was back home in Virginia.

First off, the kids poise is still mind blowing to me. No matter what he does out there, he just looks like he is in control of the team, game flow, and his emotions. Above all else, he doesn't look overwhelmed, confused by the defense, and doesn't move in the pocket unless he has too.

My concerns with his game were this:

    • Deep balls still don't look even close. It looked like TJ had his guy beat but really had to stop for the ball
    • On their first drive in the red zone, looks like he had WR's wide open on crossing patterns in the endzone, but he dropped to his dumb off too quickly
    • On the INT, he just stared down the WR and made it easy.

Listen, I love EJ. I mean, i think he would be afraid to meet me with my level of man crush. And again, I realize that this is his second game starting as a rookie. I'm more excited about his development this year than anything else. Besides his deep ball accuracy, there is nothing I'm seeing that isn't fixable and won't get better. I'm thrilled with him so far. I just like to break down his development. I would love to be in the film room when they review tape on Tuesday.
