We showed that we can beat this team earlier this season. Yet both teams are different now as the Chiefs have Pacheco and Bolton back and we could be missing Douglas and Bernard. etc. It's going to be a tough team but playing at home things give us the advantage we need to win. Toss in Sneed appears to be limited this week, if they lose him that could really hurt their defense.

Bolton played last time…we had the pleasure of being his inaugural game back lol

I think we still have a route with a decimated back 7 on defense and one turnover on offense. It is a narrow route but there is a route. If we turn it over more than once we are toast.

Idk how decimated the back end is gonna be…lookin like Douglas and Jackson at corner with taron back in the slot.

I have concerns with officiating getting in the way of this game - hope they just let them play.

Josh is usually a wild card in my mind for the past season and a half. What Josh shows up to play? But I feel like he is dialed in and I am really glad for his sake as he lifts the energy of the whole offense when he is in the zone.

Jones can be a game-wrecker in the middle and I think he is playing on a 1-year deal so basically showcasing his play to either go FA or simply put himself in a great negotiating position. So (as usual) we have to be aware of where he is at and provide some help, but effective running is best way to slow down him pinning his ears back and reeking havoc in the backfield.

I do think we have great depth with our defense that has been tested to the max, but we are now very thin at LB and I did not see any roster moves to shore up that depth so that has me a bit nervous - will see what that injury report looks like at the end of the week.

Perhaps the biggest ***** in our defensive armor is missing Taron Johnson and I think Pittsburgh realized pretty quickly that Cam Lewis filling in for Taron was our "Waldo" (referring to interviews with those who have worked with our OC Brady and how they said one thing he would always do when game planning was to find a player or players on the defense that they could attack - "where's Waldo" )

Knock on wood, that our strong run defenders on the line play the dominant way that they can as KC has been leaning more on their run game. So yeah, I am just trying to enjoy the ride and enjoy this improbable run this year and keep my Bills OCD mania in a healthy place.

Chiefs are a different beast I honestly hope the refs are actually throwin flags against the chiefs only lol.  They are very handsy in the secondary

looks like taron is practicing I don’t think it’s lookin good for benford or Bernard though

Right. People act like the Bills are the only team with an injury bug.

I think the Bills take it in a close one. KC's offense is really inconsistent this year, Mahomes can't rely on his WRs.

Stack the box, force Mahomes to throw against a sub par WR group. It's really that simple.

Last game was crazy…it does sound like a lot of those players will come back though.  A lot of teams have injuries but not a lot of teams have aj klein having to cancel a family vacation to be the focal point of the defense in the playoffs lol. I think we really undersell how bad our injury predicament has been at times this year.  We had 3rd or 4th stringers at every lb and cb position in the second half against pit im pretty sure

Of course you do realize that the interceptions that have happened, have been the least detrimental to the team of any quarterback in the league. In other words, teams have scored the least amount of points off of Allen’s turnovers as compared to any other starting quarterback. To put it one other way, Allen’s interceptions happen at a time or place where the other team is unable to capitalize and realize those points from the turnover. I am also aware that we tend to win more when there are less interceptions, so there is a correlation. Maybe it’s defense exhaustion, but idk, hopefully it doesn’t happen and if it does, it’s not too detrimental and we still win…GO BILLS. Either way, he is not any more prone to interceptions than any other quarterback. He just has more, but that is just a numbers thing as he also has many more touchdowns too.

It is pretty amazing for someone that is supposedly an interception machine he hardly ever turns it over on his own side of the field or throws a pick six.

I still don't understand why the Dolphins are living rent free in some of ya'all heads considering how lopsided this alleged rivalry has been in recent years.

I'm more worried about the Chiefs and how they have owned this franchise when it matters and why so much is at stake on Sunday.

Its because some of our posters around here like to talk them up as ready to dethrone us every season and we get a fun victory lap as an annual tradition 😂

If the Ravens come out slow and flat after 2 weeks off and Houston can jump out to an early lead it puts the pressure on Lamar to win as a passer. That would be a huge advantage for the Texans.

If the Texans want to pull the upset this is the game script that gets them there.

Still shocked they didn’t play starters for a half in that week 18 game….or a couple drives at least

    Two thoughts on this.

One:  even though this started among Pittsburgh fans, there's a subtle campaign from Mahomes/Chiefs lovers to play this up in the hopes that a Josh run on Sunday will draw a flag.

Two:  I wouldn't be surprised to see the Competition Committee receive a ridiculous proposal requiring quarterbacks to run in a straight line or slide after they cross the line of scrimmage.  No more "juking" allowed.  To which I say fine, then quarterbacks must also run directly out of bounds when they are across the line and outside the hashmarks.

That would hurt their mvp Lamar Jackson an awful lot lol

I like when he does the pump fake 7 yards down field and players fall for it.

You’ve only gotta freeze guys for the tiniest fraction of a second and they’re gonna miss the tackle…same principal for the stutter step juke…kazee froze for a very small amount of time thinkin about what angle he should take and was out of position..  Steelers fans implying he quit on the play thinking it was over are completely wrong..  the dude stayed in a ready position he just stopped moving forward because he wasn’t sure which way josh was gonna go and didn’t want to run himself right out of the play

one steeler did get lazy trying to fight off a block because he just assumed kazee would finish the tackle but kazee got absolutely trucked lol

I don't understand the narrative that KC is always super healthy in the playoffs. Mahomes played the entire playoffs last year on a high ankle sprain and they were down 4 of their top 5 WRs in the AFCC, plus some key defenders. In 2020, they went to the SB with a 3rd string OL.

Yea I agree with a lot of this except that last point requires some context as they didn’t exactly make it through the playoffs down some linemen…a few got hurt pretty late in our game.  If they had that 2020 Super Bowl roster for the whole playoffs I don’t think they would’ve made it past the Texans in the divisional round

Look I ranted about this in another thread

idk why people give so much merit to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid against us - if the bills had lost 3 regular season games at home to the chiefs it would be NO WAY we beat them

instead - we are being disrespected - yet again!

    -3 at home?

    why?

they beat us in 2020 and 2021?  When they had weapons and Kelce was in his prime ?  Oh becuase that makes a ton of sense?

oh their defense… ok again couple points on that.

1 who have they played the last 2 months?  Stat padding at its finest they are good I’ll say that but against competition?  Yikes. Sorry not scared

2?  Josh lit them up already !!!  And THIS YEAR! (Unlike Patrick Mahomes lit us up back in 2020 and 2021 playoffs because that seems to matter - oh at home in KC - not on the road where he has never played a playoff game)

so spare me the bologna that is the chiefs aura - it’s crap

    their last REAL opponent?

    you guessed right!!!  US!!!!

Genuinely think we’re in the -4 or -5 range with a healthier defense.  -2.5 actually seems pretty respectful to Buffalo given the situation

Right but the season isn’t over. Let’s just say that something bad happens, the unthinkable happens, do you think anyone is going to remember the previous 6 wins? Do you think that after a career crushing loss, people will view that as the team rallying to their coach?

I think as fans we should be mentally prepared for all possible outcomes. This would be #4. I mean, he’s already done it 3 out of 3 times. The following day people would be calling him Marv 2.0 for Christ’s sake.

Well yea if the unthinkable happens maybe…problem is I can’t think of what the unthinkable could possibly be at this point lol..  the last chance the ‘fire McDermott’ crowd had was us getting stomped by pit imo

dolphins blew a 14 point lead against Tennessee with time winding down en route to coughing up the division then got absolutely spanked by this same kc team and they’re rolling with their mcd lol. I’d say that’s a lot closer to unthinkable than whatever happens to us

Look, I thought McDaniel was a scrubby little runt who wasn't gonna cut it as a coach, but his team went from 9-8 to 11-6.  I don't think they do that without being capable and players buyin in.

So what coach isn't a joke?  Is Daboll a joke?  He's supposed to be a "man's man" who smokes cigars etc. , his team went from 9-7-1 to 6-11

His team is absolutely all in from a roster construction standpoint…11 wins and second in the division getting swept by your division rival most years just isn’t good enough.  Armstead is likely gonna retire, tyreek is gonna decline fairly soon, and they’re way over the cap with a tua extension looming and no answers on defense really.  Xavien Howard is probably gonna be a cap casualty

the 2 year McDaniel era outperformed the last 2 years of Brian Flores by a whopping 1 game despite Flores getting fired long before the rebuild was completed with a ton of future assets

Comprehensive overview of Josh Allen’s numerous sliding infractions.

@Zerovoltz What’s your take? My personal favorite is the fake slide short of the sticks on 4th and 1 vs New England. Comes up at the 6 second mark. Also love the one at the 1:29 mark, the fake slide there has Kiko Alonso all turned around.

I like how he did the exact same thing against the Steelers of all teams and they didn’t say a word that time 😂

they could’ve done the infinitely less stupid thing and said there was a questionable hold or two on that play from monday but alas…lol

If the video was inconclusive (I agree it was) then they were right to stay with the call on the field.

If it touched Friermuth while he is out of bounds then by rule it is a fumble out of bounds.

I don't think it did hit his helmet FWIW but I don't think the replay proved it one way or the other.

Yea once it got to review it was right to uphold it but the call on the field was an absolute joke…there’s no way they saw that ball nearly graze his helmet at game speed and there was a clear recovery in bounds.

they ruled he fumbled it out of bounds forward which kind of implies they don’t think we recovered it in bounds which is an embarrassingly bad on field ruling.  Should’ve been ruled a fumble that stood on review

  14. I don’t think this even applied…if that fumble grazed muths helmet(I’m not sure it did) there’s a very good chance he hadn’t contacted oob yet anyway

Well the fact is the Bills defense is not healthy. Mahomes certainly won't get the best defense the Bills could have on display. Sucks, unfortunate, and sucks some more. Injuries always play a part in football.

McD knows the Chiefs offense. He's been somewhat successful with his game plans. Unfortunately, not as much come playoff time. Hopefully, things change will the home field advantage.

The next man up mentality has really been true with this Bills defense. Klein off his RV played remarkable well. Elam with a huge INT and Dorian Williams flashing. This is very encouraging. It will take a total team effort to win.

The Chiefs team isn't as dominant as previous years. Yet, they are very scary with Mahomes and Jones anchoring their perspective sides. Not to mention their secondary is lights out. Reid will likely have a few tricks up his sleeve.

On the other side, McD has done a superb job with his depleted D. Hopefully, it can continue. During the winning stretch his defense has been able to close the games. Gotta see it in this game; a huge playoff game. We all know this hasn't been the case. It's his nemesis if you will. Get the monkey off your back.

I believe McD is going to be pretty aggressive on offense. I can see him going for it on 4th downs.

On defense, Mahomes is a blitz killer. The front four has to get pressure. Likely they can attack their tackles where they appear to be weaker. I wish I could say it's Von Miller time. How great that would be. Just can't see it happening.

Lastly, the Bills need McD not to blow it. I don't say this in a  sarcastic manner. 13 seconds has to be on everyone's mind. It's inevitable. McD was fortunate that the end of the half debacle didn't cost the team. That absolutely gave Pitt life as they were on life support. Making coaching mistakes are going to happen. I get that. However, coaching blunders just can't happen when the teams are so evenly matched.

Sounds like they’re all day to day on defense(even Bernard) according to McDermott and given we won’t feel as comfy as we did pre Steelers game I’d suspect a lot of them play

I don’t think attempting the fg there was a ‘blunder’ in the way 13 seconds was lol for me the most important coaching matchup in this one is Brady vs spagnuolo.  That chiefs offense is not the explosive group its been in the past but they can absolutely hold a team under 17 points

Aren't the betting odds currently Bills -2.5, which is basically saying it's a toss-up with a slight edge to the Bills for having home field advantage?

Of course that could change during the week when injury reports come out.

He appears to feel that the NFL is fixed:

During the Miami Week 18 game:

Sound like an objective observer, or like a Bills fan, to you?

Chiefs fans say the Raiders ran a 5-2-4 and beat up their OL all game. They don’t think Buffalo has the horses up front to replicate that success, namely one Maxx Crosby.

Didn’t need it the last couple times we beat them 😂. Man kc losin this one is a bit of a narrative changer as far as the head to head goes at least.  We’d be 4-1 against them in the last 5 with that 13 seconds loss as the only loss with 4 of those being at arrowhead

I have no idea about your credibility. Nor do I care if others dislike your post.

However, I will say your credibility takes a big hit when you throw that 75% number out there. No way no how is the discrepancy that big.

The Chiefs surely can win and there's a viable path and validity to make that claim. Vice versa too.

This game is about as close as it gets when you analyze the data, facts, trends, injuries, luck, players, coaches, home field, etc ...

You 75% number is more likely around 45% to 55%.

I’m poking around lookin just to see how off that 75% was and I’ve found 2 chiefs picks out of about 10 analysts
